We finally made it back to the Magic Kingdom after one loooooong ride on the monorail. Did I mention this was our last full day at Disney? I dont think I did.
This was our last full day at Disney.
Tomorrow we were meeting my Dis friends at Epcot for the Maelstrom ride and then we were heading out to the beach. Today had to be full on fun and we had to squeeze as much in as possible.
We found our stroller that we had parked on Main Street and headed back to Buzz. You know I left my TGMike plan back at the hotel, so we let the little Fricks be our guides. It was a day of What do you want to ride next rather than me dictating what was going to be done. It was kind of nice.
After Buzz, it was time to use our dazed and confused passes for Space Mountain. I took Big Frickles for his first ride ever on the Mountain that I love. Yes, I love Space Mountain. When I was little, I would stand in line with the whole family and then right before you get on the ride, JoMomma, Dad and I would take the chicken exit and wait for my brothers to ride. I loved waiting in that line, I loved looking at the ceiling, I loved the music and I especially loved the exit ride where you ride on the inclining moving sidewalk and see yourself on the tv monitors. It hasnt really changed and I really hope it never does.
My parents werent thrill ride people, and since I was a girl, they didnt think I should be a thrill ride person either so they put the fear in me. That was o.k. though. I cant remember the first time I rode Space Mountain, but Im pretty sure I was at least 13. It just about freaked JoMomma out when I started riding coasters. It still does. I love thrill rides now and Im glad my boy didnt turn out to be a chicken like his momma. He was pumped.
Just a few days ago I broke the news to JoMomma that Big Frickles rode almost every thrill ride there and that he loved them. I think she would have put me in a time out and spanked me if she could of.
Anyhow, we boarded our rocket and took off and I was just giggly the whole time. That ride gives me perma-grin. Big Frick loved it and wanted to go again with his Dad.
We found Mr Frick in the dump shop and did the rider swap and Little Frick and I went in search of a drink and a snack. We went to the snack shop right under the TTA, you know the one that serves Turkey Legs. I can tell you right now, the smell & the looks of those turkeys made me nauseous. Youll never find me gnawing on one of those things. I like turkey, but I prefer neat and small portions of meat. No offense to the turkey leg lovers out there. Im sure they are good.
Lil Frick wanted a big pretzel so we snagged one. It was so good. It was so darn good that I feel the need to root for it in my trip report. It was so good that I will go back to get one next time. Im usually not a big pretzel fan, but this one had spicy cheese in it. We tore it up. Yum. Get one sometime.
When we found Mr Frick in the dump shop, he was doing a little Christmas shopping. The boys had just loved the magnet rocks that they had seen in the Star Tours shop and we had found them again here at Space Mtn. I distracted the guys while he bought them. I thought that was so sweet of him.
Big Frickles wanted to do Stitch so Lil Frick and I hit the TTA. Again. He wasnt having any part of the Stitch show. He had been there and done it in December, and wasnt thrilled about going back on it. As I relaxed on our ride I checked out the heavy crowds and I heard the page for Mr. Tom Morrow. That reminded me Zzub, which reminded me of my Dis friends, which reminded me of NicoleMarie. NM is always saying A crowded day at Disney is better than no day at Disney. I had to chant that in my mind for the rest of the day. I dont like big crowds at Disney. It has the potential to kill my buzz.
We found our other half and they couldn't stop talking about how bad the stink was in Stitch. Mr Frick said that smell was stuck in his nose hairs.
We finally left Tomorrow Land and headed out for our ADR for Crystal Palace. Yes, it was time to eat again. I scored this ADR about a week before we left from GinaGrumpyDwarf. Hi Gina! You see, I need a dinner reservation in the park and I could not get one after a couple of months of trying. Finally, I caught a thread about ADR cancellations and exchanges for September and I scored big time because Ms Gina was going to have to cancel her table for four at the Crystal Palace on the night that we needed! I PMd her and we made our plan of attack. She called the Disney Dining line and then I called right after she did and grabbed the spot. I need to give Gina a big Thank You for taking the time to post the fact that she was going to do that!!! Pixie dust!
We grabbed fast passes for Winnie the Pooh, one of our family favorites, and strolled on over to the Crystal Palace. After about a ten minute wait, we were in and making our way to the buffet. We love the Crystal Palace. Love it.
Poor Eeyore (is that how you spell it?) was getting fed up with me because I couldn't get the camera to work. It turned out that I was taking video. So we have about 1 minutes worth of these start stop videos with me saying 'Why won't the camera work?' Lovely.
Sweetness!
We had a super CM who waited on us that night. It was all great!!!! Thanks again Gina!!!
We headed left towards Adventure Land after our meal. I walked past the Dole Whip stand. Just like last year. And just like last year, I was too full to eat it. Last year I did not make it back to the stand, so I've never had a Dole Whip. I told myself that I would get one later and regrettably moved on. I could hear LaLas words in my head. She did the same thing, and never made it back for one. I thought about last year. I contemplated turning around and walking back to get one, but the boys were already excited to ride the magic carpets.
After the carpets, we hit the Jungle Cruise, which we all love. Next we climbed the big tree house. The sun was starting to set as we made our way up. I got this sweet picture from the top.
There was a family who about had enough of each other behind us in the tree. I was seriously ready to get away from those bickering people by the end of the climb.
We bypassed Splash and Big Thunder because the wait was so long and we headed over to the Haunted Mansion. Our plan was to not tell Lil Frick anything about it unless he asked. And it worked. Our little fraidy cat loved the Haunted Mansion! I could not believe it. That was a big score.
Horsey called me and told me she was coming to the MK to watch Spectro before she met our other Dis friends for dinner. I asked the boys if they wanted to watch the parade or continue to ride the rides and they picked the rides. We missed Spectro. Oops. Sorry Horsey, I would have loved to have watched it with you but we had to press on and get our favorite rides taken care of. But you knew that.
The boys rode Its a Small World for the first time. One was impressed, one was not. I believe his words were "well that was a big waste".
After about 30 minutes of trying to find our stroller in the dark (this happened to us all day by the way), we took our ride on Pooh, which we all love, and headed over to the Tea Cups, which we all love.
I take a picture like this every time.
You WILL NOT get tipsy spinny sick if you get your own cup with your spouse. There is a way to keep it from spinning and it is great fun. I'm not a big spinner, but this one is all good.
Wishes! was next on our agenda so we went to find our spot in front of the castle. Oh golly jeepers it was crowded. We got ourselves a good spot under Tinker Bells wire and parked it. I started getting antsy about my Dole Whip. I had to get one. I wasnt going to leave without one. I started getting nervous that they would close the stand after the fireworks. I told Mr. Frick I had to go and get my Dole Whip. I asked him if he wanted one and he said no. I warned him that he could NOT have a bite of mine when I got back. He still said he didnt want one.
I had 7 minutes before the show started and I did not want to miss Tinker Bell's flight.
So I guess you know what I did. Again.
Yes, I broke out in to the Horse Run. I weaved in and out of people and jumped over peoples feet and hurdled over strollers. I was grateful for the fact that I have been working out like crazy for the past year.
I made it to the stand and got in a fairly short line. Yes! Unfortunately, I was behind a Daddy and his little girl who were in NO hurry. They had a leisurely talk with the CM while I stood there getting all antsy, they lost the blankey in the stroller and they just wouldn't move it.
I studied the menu, then confusion set in.
I thought there was only one choice. A Dole Whip. I didnt know I was going to have to choose between a swirl, straight up pineapple or a float! EEEEKKKK!
I opted for the straight up pineapple.
I paid and then began my run through the crowds again. Just as I reached the family, the show started.
Wishes! with a Dole Whip is the way to go. Straight up pineapple was AWESOME! The boys wanted a bite and I think I said no. Well, I gave them one tiny bite and I said no more. This was Momma's treat. I would get them a treat later. They werent going to go all postal on my Dole Whip that I waited a year for. It was too good. LaLa, I hope you got your Dole Whip this time. You all need to read her excellent TR "Overdue and Overpacked" to find out!
Wishes was great! It was the first time we had seen the whole show and listened to the music and paid attention to what was said. Last December we watched it from the Poly pool a few times, but being in front of the castle is the best! It was a super show for our last show of the trip.
It was an EMH night so we fought the crowds for our arm bands and tried to hop on some rides. It was sick crowded. It was so crowded that we had to ride the People Mover. Again. For like the 47th time that day.
We decided to give everyone a choice and pick one ride to do before we left. It was getting late and we were fading. Well, I was fading. Big Frickles wanted Thunder Mountain, I wanted Splash Mountain, Lil Frick wanted Peter Pan and Mr Frick didnt care to pick. He was kinda over it.
Peter Pan had a 45 minute wait. No thank you. It broke my heart to tell Lil Frick we werent going to do it. He was seriously sad, but quickly accepted another ride on the Haunted Mansion. Who woulda thunk it? We decided to split up and Big Frick and I tackled Thunder Mtn. It was hard to get excited about riding it when you feel like you need a serious nap. Like an 8 hour nap. We screamed and had fun though.
When we met Mr. Frick, Lil Frick had crashed and was asleep in the stroller. We left them at a bench and went to ride our last ride of the night, Splash. Now remember, I had never ridden this before. I had never cared for it because I thought that all it did was just go up and then back down and you get all soaked. Kind of like a similar ride at Six Flags over Georgia. It is pointless.
I had read so much about Splash being peoples favorite ride that I had to try it. We got in the 20 minute line and enjoyed our wait. We had fun checking out the scenery and theming. I noticed the guy in front of me had on a Dis Boards Cruise shirt. I tapped him on the shoulder and told him that I had noticed his shirt and I asked him if he was a Disser. Guess what? He was! Fancy that.
He asked me my screen name and I got his, Copper3. Hey Copper3.

You probably arent reading this since you told me you hang out on the cruise boards, but hi!
We finally got in our cute little ride and we were off. Let me tell you, I am now a huge Splash fan. I loved it tremendously. I had no idea all that cuteness was in that ride. It is amazingly good and Big Frick and I had a blast. It was a great way to end the day!
Since it was 11:30, we were ready to drag ourselves out of there.
I was too tired to even get sad about leaving the MK like I always do. You know I usually take 20 more pictures of the castle and wave bye to it and get a little reminiscent and misty eyed and I start buying souvenirs like crazy and I make a promise to come back. But not this time. I just wanted a bed.
See ya MK.
We took the monorail to the Poly and finally got our car back! Manny wasnt working that night, so I didnt get a chance to ask him what in the world he did with my keys. We were also way to tired to talk to anyone in management about the situation. We were pooped.
We got lost on our way back. Figures.
I think we got to POR well after mid-night. We carried two sound asleep and sweet little boys to the room and snuggled them up in the bed before crashing ourselves.
Tomorrow was going to be great, but it was also going to stink.
I had a lot more of my sweet Dis friends to meet and I was so excited. But I was not looking forward to packing our stuff, leaving our sweet room at POR and being in the car for 8 hours to get to the beach in North Carolina.
Up next: The Maelstrom Dis meet is finally here!
