The FrenchFry takes on the Caesar Salad - DREAM COME TRUE GOT TO MEET PODCAST TEAM!

Hi guys, sorry for my poor upkeep of this stalled trip report, unfortunately what with a sick sister and uncle, work and dancing commitments, exam revision stress I have totally ran out of spare minutes! but I am going to try and wrap up this saga!

My mum, nana aunt and cousin left for Port Orleans riverside resort on Thursday, they are spending 5 days there on the dining plan before moving out to 11 days on I Drive with a trip down tothe Keys and a night in Miami in the middle, jealous doesn't cover it lol! but I am also so happy for them, my mum and my nana needed a break with our stressful family illnesses situation and it is my aunt and cousins firt time to Disney, my Granda (the financial backing) and myself (the creative director) arranged for a special gift basket to meet them at Port Orelnas, and they loved it!

Silver necklaces with a Mickey head diamante and their initial, a pen each and a big photo album!

They are getting quite a bit of rain, but are in love with the resort (first time on property for nana and mum) and have been to Epcot and seen Flower and Garden. They went to Hollywood studios yesterday arrived at Toystory mania at 8.45 during EMH and the return time was 1.45-2.45 but overall they say crowds arent too bad!

Love hearing what they've been up to and sharing a little bit of the magic! mum says eveything cool they see nana or her will say 'Cathy would have loved this' so I know I'm there in spirit!:yay:

Sounds like they are having a wonderful time and the gift basket looks fantastic :)

Thanks Stefy, couldn't wait to hear what they thought of it and me and Granda are definitely in the good books now!:rotfl:

They moved out of Port Orleans yesterday and did Blizzard Beach and the mini golf but havent heard what they think of their new hotel, its the Hampton Inn, Ray thought they maybe shouldv'e done it first, they might be a bit underwhelmed after their lovely time at Port Orleans...

I know what you mean about life getting in the way of Disboards. I've been a terrible slacker on my TR.
That is great your mom is at WDW & having a great time. I would be very jealous too, I'm ready to go back!
The basket is so adorable & that was so sweet of you & grandma to send!

I can't keep my own updated or read other people's, just keeping up with all the must do's everyday is taking up all my time right now...boo to no disboards! and sorry for the late reponse!

The parcel was soooo well received, they loved it and wrere all wearing their necklaces yesterday upon their return! so glad to have them home!

I pretty much always lurk but had to sign in to comment on your TR. First, I think you & you boyfriend are completely adorable! I love how down to earth you both seem - little fights but quick make ups (for example, the sneaking hand on PotC). You guys really seem to know how to enjoy yourselves and not get too stressed out at Disney.

Second, I really enjoy the way your write - so much humor! I just found your TR today and have read through it all. By far, my fav part was when you described how "chicken" you both were at Discovery Cove. I laughed so hard at the idea of him kicking a fish by accident while drowning! :lmao:

Your Epcot day reminded me of my first time in Epcot. We were all hot, sweaty, and cranky. And being of Irish background, we had lovely cherry red faces of course. I think everyone does Epcot wrong at least once. I hated it the first time. Now it is our favorite park and we take 2-3 days to do everything we like there.

Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us. It is so much fun to read!

Thank you so much for your kind reply:cloud9:, I read it at work today and had a big beam on my face, really cheered me up!

We are a pretty happy couple and it is a good thing DBF is so cool and just goes along with my crazy planning and ideas...most of the time anyway...! we are so different in our approach to things like getting excited and planning for vacations but his laid backness kind of rubs the edge of my frenzied panics!

I was actually laughing with a friend the other day, saying how silly we were to have paid all that money and then be so scared that we snorkelled standing up with our knees bent and just our faces in the water!:lmao:

You can see from my big shiny red face in the WS photos that I also have got that particular Irish gene...boo lol! but yep your right, live and learn, it'll be grey goose slushie's and beers, kim possible missions, teppan edo and taking it easy on our next trip to Epcot!

And thanks again for reading along, I've got another update hopefully tonight, never thought it would be this hard to finish a tiny little TR! Have you got a trip to Disney coming up soon? :goodvibes

Hey guys, :flower3:

Not really sure if anyone could have the patience to keep reading but I'm so excited just had to post. My mum and nana came home for Disney this past Sunday and had an AMMMMAAAZZZING time! And they went a little overboard with the presents, incl some cool Disney stuff!

Here is my bed with all my lovely presents!

My nana and me had had long discussions about placement before they went, and I feel bad because I think they really spent a lot of time looking and worrying which pattern to select, but they got tinkerbell and the castle, so thats cool! and it is just so cu8te in real life!

This bag was one I bought myself but to take advantage of free shipping I got it sent to my aunt who lives in orlando and then my mum met up and swapped her for Irish teabags...:rotfl:

I just love this bag so much but its so bright and girly I think i'll have to be careful to keep the rest of my outfits I wear it with more plain and simple...

Some lovely makeup, mum went a bit crazy in MAC and sephora for my sisters and I and picked up some of our xmas gifts there too

cathy-florida315.jpg

DIOR SUNGLASSES! My first ever pair of fancy sunnies, gotta be so careful with them! and gotta be never cheeky to my mum again after so many cool things! :cool1:
cathy-florida316.jpg

This was from my nana, she is helping me start a christmas tree ornament collection for when I have my own tree, so far I've got a lovely NYC one and now a Disney one!:goodvibes

This dress was a little extra surprise because of the parcel granda and I arranged, they said it was a very magical memory for the four of them (mum nana aunt little cousin)!:wizard:

Lots of little hidden mickey's!
cathy-florida319.jpg

We told mum not to bring so many presents but she says because she left us behind while she was in Disney this was her way of including us! so not gonna argue too much!

PS Photos are uploaded for my last installment, now just gotta write a few connecting sentences and the whole TR will be overrrr....and no trip planned to replace it...but o well, thats where disboards comes in to live vicariously through others' vacations in the meantime!

Hey girl, I'm still here :goodvibes

I love all your presents! Your mom and nana did a great job with picking out everything. The dress is adorable! I really like how the Mickeys aren't obvious.

Still here, too! :)

What wonderful family you have!! I love, love, love your bags! And the dress is adorable!

And yes, be super careful with your new shades! :cool2: The first pair of nice sunglasses I had (raybands) were around for about a year until the day I was at the pool and laid down on them! :scared1: I was soooooooo upset at myself, didn't buy another nice pair for another 6 years! :lmao:

So when do you get to start planning your next trip to Disney? ;)

Still here, girl! Wow, your mom is the best! I can't believe all of those amazing presents! That sundress is adorable-- so is the D+B crossbody. Love it!
Ahh, I bought my first designer sunglasses last summer and they're still going strong. The key is to ALWAYS keep them in the case if they're not on your eyes!

Hey girl, I was following your disneyland trip and will hop onboard if you get another one lined up! we are hoping to get there someday...

mum actually brought my lil sis back a pair of raybans! ooohh i woulda been so sad if i laid on mine, and knowing my luck could happen, so just must keep forefront in my mind beeee carefullll:scared1:!

Our next possible trip to Disney might actually be to Dinseyland...maybe 2013 if me and DBF's life plans fall into place and do vegas california, san diego, san fran etc but that's a looonng way away! I listen with awe and amazement to the disunplugged podcast and the stories about the backstage magic abd tour but with a house wedding etc to save up for just prob gonna beyond our means...

Wow what awesome stuff your mother brought you back, I love both of your bags and your new dress is adorable!

Eh, it'll hopefully be next year... If I'd been able to go, I'd be there right now :headache:

Boooo, thats not a nice thought, but then in another few days it would all be over and at least you still have a long time to plan, get excited etc! :goodvibes

Hi!:)

We were spolied, I still have the bags sitting out, I need to tidy oput a special section in my wardrobe for them so they can have enough space, I don't want them to get crushed or lose their newness! the weird thing is apart from prancing around the house with them I won't really get to use them until 2013!!!

Oh wow so many lovely presents and three Dooney's luck girl :) Love the Crossbody so cute :) That was so sweet what your mum said about them going to Disney :)

I thought when the little make up bag was only $15 it would be rude not to!!!:lmao: even DBF thinks they're pretty cool! Mum said everytime they saw something cool they would say to each other...'oooh cathy would have loved this...'

Great gifts, I'm so jealous!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm still trying the dooney's on daily and prancing around my room with them! and thinking of what clothes I have that they would match and other crazy handbag thoughts!

So upon waking in the Hard Rock Hotel...DBF related a nightmare that had actually turned into reality...

he had woken in the night choking with thirst and stumbled out of bed lookinng for water he tore open the bottle on the dresser and consumed the contents before returning to sleep, thirst suitably quenched. DBF related this as if he had the thirst of a man crossing the Sahara dessert and I didn't quite understand why this all was so bad...you were thirsty...you got water? until he revealed the real nightmare part of the story...the water had $8 on the label! :lmao: my economical DBF was aghast!

His mood was not improved when breakfast reached an astronomical amount for 2 Llittle cereal pots, milk and a donut! raging comparisons were made with 'our hamptons free breakfast' and our case of 24 water bottles for $10! etc etc! So the walk over was a little frosty with me being cross about his complaing and him in a strop about the Hard Rock tricking him into buying expensive water! but by the time we reached Harry Pooter land we were both calmed down and ready to enjoy the lovely scenery of Hogsmeade!

I was now sure I could manage mmy camera on the ride and was able to take photos of the queue area...

THE SORTING HAT! MAGICAL! I AM SUCH A FAN AND WAS ON A TOTAL HIGH THE WHOLE WAY TRHOUGH THIS QUEUE!

cathy-florida273.jpg

cathy-florida275.jpg

Amazing recreations, even DBF who only watches the films thought the setting was super impressive...

cathy-florida276.jpg

BUTTERBEER! Ps early startes clearly dont suit me and DBF excuse the roughness!

cathy-florida277.jpg

cathy-florida278.jpg

cathy-florida279.jpg

I wanted to tour the shops but the very small crowded aisles were not working for DBF this early and the morning and although he waited outside and kindly told me to shop til my hearts content when I came back this face made me realise we should move on...:rotfl:

cathy-florida280.jpg

cathy-florida282.jpg

DBF's favourite part of HP Land, moving sick...whatta guy :lmao:

DBF loved how the smoke shot out at just the right moment, I can't believe I wore those big clodhopper trainers with that dress, the heat obviously affected my brain...but apart from that it is a cool memory!
