I feel that I should give you a warning before I begin. Up until this point, I pretty much knew what I was going to write about before I began the entry.
Really? We would not have guessed that, Hannah. From our perspective, it was clear you had no idea what you were writing about throughout this entire PTR. If you knew what you were going to write about, why on earth have you been rambling so much???
Right . . . ummmmm. . . . .what I mean is, before I began the resort analysis, I had already decided to stay at the Poly. And before I began the ADR entry, I had already booked my ADRs.
Tonight we are talking about Must Dos, and I have to admit, I dont even know what they are yet. So there is your fair warning: this has the potential to be one long, jumbled up, messy entry.
How is that any different than all of your other entries???
Right you are! And youre still reading! So without further ado, lets talk about Must Dos!!!
Please dont rhyme. This is not a Dr. Seuss book.
Sorry. I got carried away. But now that you mention it, that could be really fun!
A Day in the Magic Kingdom by Hannah
Were going to Disney, and while we are there,
Well see Mickey and Minnie theyre quite a pair!
Well ride Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain, too.
Then off to Space Mountain thats what well do!
Next we will travel to Fantasy Land
And ride the new Dumbo, and then Peter Pan.
Well have dinner at Poly in Kona Café,
Then come back for Wishes. Oh, Wow - what a day!
Stop! STOP!!! Didnt you hear us say no rhyming? Are we going to have to make this another official rule of the DIS?
No, no. No more rules. Ill stop. Sheesh.
Ok Back to business. Must Dos.
Before I get to my actual list, a couple of things to keep in mind.
First, this is a work trip for my DH, which means for a good portion of the time, he will be away at conferences, meetings, and other various events. During the times that hes working, its going to be just me and DS(1). Which means I wont be able to ride any attractions that have height requirements (obviously cant do rider swap if theres no one else to watch DS while I go on the ride).
To further complicate matters, DHs schedule is still not completed, so I really have no idea what days and times hes going to be able to be with us. Im pretty sure Wednesday evening and all day Sunday will be free, but other than that, its completely up in the air. To account for this, Im creating two lists of Must Dos for each park: one for when it is just me and DS, and one for things to add when DH is around.
Finally, I have no idea how DS is going to respond to characters. He might love them, and he might be terrified. So were going to have to wing it when it comes to meet and greets. If he seems to be into the characters, maybe well add some in. If hes scared, then obviously well save them for a later trip.
Ok I think I have officially drug out this intro to a length worthy of the rest of the PTR, so what are you waiting for? Lets talk Must Dos!
The number one must do for the entire trip is this: See Wishes. Ive never seen it before.
What?!?!? Youve been to Disney World twice and havent seen Wishes? You had a CASTLE VIEW ROOM at the Contemporary, and you havent seen Wishes? Thats unthinkable! Its preposterous! Its practically blasphemous!
You mean blasphe-mouse? Ill give you a second to let that sink in
.
Groan, I know. But there are some of you out there who enjoy a good pun, so that was especially for you.
No, Hannah. None of us out here found that humorous. No more rhyming, and no more puns.
Alright, alright. I havent seen Wishes, so Im making it my number one priority on this trip. Satisfied? Good. Lets move on.
Magic Kingdom Must Dos DS & ME:
*represents first time on this attraction
Haunted Mansion (hoping DS is too little to be scared on this)
PhilharMagic (cracks me up every time)
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Its a Small World (Im part of the crowd that enjoys this ride, and Im pretty sure DS will love it. Lots of color, lots of light, lots of stimulation. We might even do this more than once)
Dumbo*
Winnie the Pooh
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (this is one of my favorites. Sooo funny. Every time.)
Peter Pan (favorite of the dark rides)
Pirates of the Caribbean
People Mover
Jungle Cruise
Must Dos with DH:
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Well have about a day and a half at MK, so Im hoping this isnt too ambitious. Crowds typically arent a problem, and most rides are walk-ons at this time of year. If not, well just do what we can
Epcot With DS & ME:
Seas with Nemo & Friends
Spaceship Earth
Illuminations
All World Showcase Countries
Three Caballeros
Journey into Imagination*(just because Ive never done this before)
Maelstrom
O Canada (cmon. Who can resist Martin Short?)
With DH:
Soarin
Mission Space (and
seriously, cmon. Who can resist Gary Senise?)
I think well have one full day at Epcot, so this may be pushing it. Well see. Soooo disappointed Test Track will be under refurb. Ive never ridden it and am really dying to check this off my list!
Animal Kingdom with DS & ME:
Festival of the Lion King
Finding Nemo
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Its Tough to be a Bug
With DH:
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Hollywood Studios with DS & ME:
Toy Story Mania
Fantasmic
Beauty and the Beast
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Muppet Vision
With DH:
Tower of Terror
Rock-N-Roller Coaster
Star Tours*
So thats the must-dos. And honestly, a lot of these arent even really Must Do Them Or My Trip Will Be Ruined. I guess its more like a Id like to do these list. Im trying to be laid back and not have my heart set on anything you know, since well have a baby with us and all. He might need to sleep. Or to eat. Or to take a break from all the stimulation. In which case, I will reluctantly and with a bad attitude pry myself away from the parks so that he can rest. Have I mentioned Im already planning a solo trip? I am. In my mind. Because I think Im going to need it after this trip is over.
I have not mentioned it to DH yet, so it's our secret for now, ok? Thank you.
Up next: Im not sure. But I can guarantee it will be long, random, and will be laden with sarcasm. Hows that for a cliffhanger???
