The Force is Strong in This One: SWW and Celebration VI, Disney Done Differently

Catching up and oh my.....I've missed some fun interations. LOVED Jedi Mickey!! Anakin looked so precious with him! The interaction with R2D2 and C3PO was great. How fantastic that R2D2 came and walked him in!! But I have to say my favorite was the pics with James Arnold Taylor. The interaction in the photos of those two is amazing. I can see how that brought you to tears. Taylor was so focused on Anakin.....priceless!! The story of the wookie sounds is great - I love the looks on the faces of the other guest. They are so enjoying your little one.

Great family photo!!! Are you guys in Celebration? We rode through there when we were there in Sept. Didn't go in March but its on my list this March. What's the "must see" places?

Take care - have a great day!

What an amazing day for Anakin! I can totally see why you would tear up. It makes us happy to see our kids happy, yes? :goodvibes How cool he got to participate in the show (in a way) by doing the wookie noise. How absoulutely memorable!

Love all the udpates, and the pictures and interaction with the characters is great. :thumbsup2

No haven't figured out what panels yet. Jacob is in NC with Grandma, I told him tonight to get on his Ipod and check it out.

Did you mean SWW? I'm thinking next Summer I need to go to Texas and see my Dad, so no SWW next year. Not sure when we will make it since school lets out late here.

How nice! Spending time with Grandma in NC! Did he fly there? How does he do with flying? I'd like to go up north next summer, but reluctant to take Anakin on an airplane.

There are so many great panels! And so many of them time conflict. It's going to be hard to choose! Thankfully, there were some we could eliminate right away.

The Carrie Fisher one on Friday nights after James Arnold Taylor says she is often irreverent, but for him it says family friendly. So I assume from the write up that Carrie Fisher's panel is not family friendly?

Visiting family is a great vacation! Sounds like yours is spread out like ours.

This one had me seriously tearing up. :goodvibes

Such great meets!! I would have been a puddle on the floor after that day.

Hey Camille! Thanks. Over and over again my heart strings were pulled that day.

What an awesome day, full of pixie dust and Disney Magic!! The Force IS VERY strong in Anakin!! He owned it, in all of his meet and greets and interactions. What an awesome young man he is!!!

I was stuck in the same kind of rain/thunder storm in AK, near KRR last year. The crowds that swelled into the Yeti gift shop were amazing and overwhelming. It was literally wall to wall people. The storm went on, vey heavy for a long time. We finally started doing the wave, to break the tension. It at least got a lot of people laughing!!

Thanks!! He is quite a character! He doesn't hold back and he wears his emotions on his sleeve.

The wave!! Love it!!

Sounds like Anakin was having a blast at the star wars weekend

Hello Emma! Absolutely!

Thanks!! Taylor was amazing. I was so impressed with him.

We are not in Celebration. But I have been there once. When you go be sure to check out Kilwin's icecream! We love the Kilwin's in St. Augustine. My first time to Celebration the town was in July of this year. All we did was stop for icecream. I had fruit pie flavored. It was strawberry and blueberries in vanilla ice cream with crushed pie crust mixed in there too, in a waffle dish. Patriotic red, white, and blue for July 4th,YUM!!! I'd like to try the Columbia Restaurant sometime. We've eaten at the one in St. Augustine, but not in Celebration. I loved their 1905 salad, they add worchestershire sauce to the dressing and it adds such a zing to the flavor!

The Celebration I was referring to in my post is Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, August 23-26. We are so excited. This will be our first Star Wars Cenvention.

Hey Ann! How's Zoe? Yes! Very touching to a Mama and very memorable!

She is doing ok. Her care team wanted to do another major surgery and I nixed the idea. It would have meant all of August would have been in hospital and recovering. I just wanted her to have a summer, KWIM? So instead we use more medical supplies.. and have added to our night time routine... but no surgery... and the procedure we are doing each night seems to be working for now. Thanks so much for asking.

So glad it's working. She is such a special little girl. Great that you got to keep summer as summer. I hope this coming school year has success with the school nurse and new teachers. Hopefully you won't have to run to school every day for cath'ing. I know that took quite a toll on you and Zoe.

Our experiences may or may not be helpful, but since Grace and Anakin do have a lot of the same issues, I thought I'd chime in here. Grace has done fine flying from Toronto (or Buffalo) to Orlando and back for the last 4 years (since just before her 5th birthday) and from Buffalo to Chicago earlier this summer. We always make sure to have things for her to do and eat easily available and have "The Kitty" in her backpack. We use her medical stroller right up until we get on the plane and then I take both girls to their seats while Kent folds the stroller up. We always make sure that she is sitting with 2 of us and then the fourth person usually sits across the aisle from the rest of the family so we're all close. She actually enjoys flying, although I'm not sure what the other passengers think when she yells out, "Light speed ahead!" as we take off. :) Hopefully she'll still enjoy it after about 40 hours on planes over a three week period this summer.

Sounds like you are traveling alot this summer, how fun! What airlines do you use?

ROFL, love what she says!

Thank you, you are too sweet. As you know.. we just deal with what we have to. However, yes... it would be nice if the school district were just a bit more accommodating:rolleyes:.

We've flown Southwest out of Buffalo and Sunwing (a Canadian charter) out of Toronto, but this summer we're flying Air Canada to and from China and I have no idea what airlines we're flying within China. I haven't flown Air Canada with her since I brought her home almost 8 years ago, so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully she sleeps!

No, we met Jacob's Grandma about halfway last week and will do so again this Saturday.

Jacob has flown and did really well, except for our first trip to FL where he got sick between FL and TX. He missed the laptop but got me and himself. The funny thing about that was the flight after that we were suppose to sit separately and when we explained what happened, they were quick to put us all together in the back row. Even an extra seat so Jacob could lay down.

I haven't really studied the panels, did go through and mark a bunch as favorites, but I guess I really need to get a plan together. The DH is so stressed at work that he hasn't had time to really look at it yet.

I'm sure Carrie Fisher does have a mouth on her. We would love to go to the Kevin Smith one, but what to do with the kiddo?

Yuck! What a flight! Sitting separate would produce high anxiety. He would need at least one of us with him.

I have only looked at the panels for Thurs and Fri. I copy and pasted the times, place, and detailed description, then printed them out. DH hasn't had time to look at them, but while he was busy with one thing, I read them to him and we picked out the ones we liked. But I don't think Anakin can go that many hours of panels. I have to plan some time for him to blow off steam and move around.

Did you do any of the Lego panels last year?

Frontier is the only direct flight airline into the airport my parents are willing to pick us up at. I've never heard of this airline. Will have to do some research. I did notice a plane that said Frontier and it was no where near the terminals at MCO. It was off at its own hanger area near FedEx or some other mail carrier.

I have to ask, how do you get to the panels on the website. I can get to them on the phone app, but can't figure out the website. :sad2:

No, we only did two panels last time. The one on Clone Wars and on the new game that was coming out. But we only attended on Saturday.

The Lego ones are some that I have checked. Were you thinking of attending the one on Bullying?

I've never heard of Frontier, but I agree a direct flight is the best way to go with kids like Grace or Anankin. There is no way I'd be wanting to change planes mid-flight with Grace and her stroller and all her stuff. Once we're on the plane, we don't want to get off until we're at our destination.

Here is the link someone gave me, but I don't think it's through the official site.

I noticed they added another children's activity, a screening panel.

Yes, the Lego ones are ones we are considering too.

Definately going to the bully panel, I saw on the schedule it was two different days?

I'm confused about the Red Carpet event and Clone Wars preview. Are they at the same place? If you are there for the red carpet are you automatically in line for the preview of the new episode?

Are you getting a special needs badge for Jacob?

Nonstop is all we'd consider too. One year, way before Anakin was born, we ended up in Atlanta over night because a thunderstorm in Florida caused us a late departure and we missed our connecting flight. If we have to layover somewhere, I guess we'd get a room at a motel and fly out the next day.

sending lots of prayers and pixie dust your way!pixiedust:

Thank you for the prayers and pixie dust if they were intended for me, I'm not sure... :confused3

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those interactions Anakin had, especially with the first person. It sounds incredible, and very touching. I'm so glad Anakin got to experience such a special day. It's great to see how sometimes the "negatives" that come along with Aspergers can be "positives". Praying he stays seizure-free for longer!! How is his cough?

Thanks! Yes, we need to channel his enthusiasm in a creative, positive way. He's been having more seizures. :sad2: His cough is much better, thanks for asking.

I read Judy's thread that your surgery was successful! Great news!

12 days before Celebration VI!!! Hoping to get an update in here soon to finish Day 12 of SWW.
