The Fockers Made Me Do it…A TR written by Peer Pressure - Updated 9/26/08 Thank You!!

Too bad we didn't see each other that day Janet. I will have to check my pictures closely, we were right near Jim and Andrew at one point that day. ;)

Note: It rained today…A LOT!
You don't say?
As I am walking I literal almost bump into this woman who is running to keep up with her family. I stop to let her start to pass me and then I say…JO? Yes is is our very own Disney_Jo. My stalking skilss are improving.
Yes, MUCH improved! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

We head over to Pixar Place and all I can say is that this place was packed:crowded: .
And people wonder why I haven't been anxious to try it yet! I'll just wait till the initial thrill wears off some, thanks.

This is probably a good time to mention that he was on my last nerve by this point (yes it is only day 2:sad2: ). All he did was walk ahead of us (100 feet or more) when he had no idea where he was going and then we’d have to wait for him to come back to where we were and text. He even slept with his phone because he would fall asleep texting his friends.
Uh-oh, this doesn't bode well... :sad2:

Woohooty!

Jimmy is starting to get out of this stage so he wasn’t overly thrilled with it.

Yeah, my kids are pretty well over that line-up - odd, as they like the Pooh ride so much. In some ways they are so grown up, then...

Uh, oh!

Next Up: Animal Kingdom, sunshine (sort of) and another Dis Sighting.

Great update, Janet! MGM has never been my favorite park because it doesn't have much for my little kids to do, but I know that they will LOVE the new Toy Story ride. I'll have to convince Eric to make rope drop there so that we can get FPs. I'm trying to convince DD7 to ride RNRC with me, but I don't think it's going to happen. She said that she would ride if Buzz and his little girl LeeAndra ride with us. I'll have to email him and find out which days he's going to be in which parks.....:confused3

 Started reading your TR!

Love all of the pictures so far. Handsome boys. I can picture my son liking going to the bathroom on the airplane too. :lmao:

We are staying at POP for the first time so I'm glad to hear you like it so far in your TR. I'm really excited. :cool1:

I've heard Rope Drop at DHS is a must do. I need to schedule that in. Sounds like it was nuts around Toy Story Mania! :scared1:

You did take me by surprise Janet, those stalking skills were really good this year :thumbsup2

she goes to catch up with her DH and DD’s who ran like they were seeing an axe murderer or something :lmao: .
:rotfl2:

I look down to where the cars are loaded and look who I see…

EllieJessonTSM.jpg
OMG that's great, wait till I show the girls, I can remember you saying you'd seen us but didn't realise you took photos :rotfl2:

I am informed by the CM that because we were 15 minutes late they cancelled our ADR! Ah, excuse me. We are only late because the FP line at TSM was slow.
I couldn't believe he said that :sad2:

I get a tap on my shoulder and it is Jo. She spied me this time. She was waiting for ADR (and was on time). We chatted some and I had the opportunity to really talk to Jess and Ellie. They are such sweet girls and Jo and David should be very proud of the young ladies they are:goodvibes .
Yeah I spotted you this time :yay: and thankyou about the girls :goodvibes

A short time later Jo is called for her sitting and then us.
Other way around, they seated you first, well actually everyone else first we were on our own in the waiting area before we got called :rotfl2:

and I bet Jesus did not get on that ride with you either

:confused3

PM me with the digits.. even if it was only 4

It was mid 5 digits:sad2:

I LOVE Jimmy's hat! It's so cute with the tail sticking up!!!

:goodvibes

I love that hat!!!

And good job on the Jo spotting. Or...the "jotting"...as I would abreviate it to.

And already another DIS sighting??? :hyper:

Jotting :rotfl2:

Excellent stalking skills! You'll have to teach a class. ;)

:thumbsup2

I have to tell you, with the time I spent with Andrew I would have never guessed the teenage attitude. He was great with all the kids at wieniefest.

He can be unteenagerish when he wants to be and he WARNED before we arrived;)

WOW - fabulous stalking skills there Janet!!:thumbsup2

:woohoo:

I was there too that morning i think, but apparently I stink at stalking!!!

I think you PM'd me to let me know you were leaving, or was that a different day:confused:

Too bad we didn't see each other that day Janet. I will have to check my pictures closely, we were right near Jim and Andrew at one point that day. ;)

I forgot you were at DHS the same day too!

You don't say?

No, really :rolleyes1

And people wonder why I haven't been anxious to try it yet! I'll just wait till the initial thrill wears off some, thanks.

Definitely hit it once the novelty wears off. I think Leo will love it:thumbsup2

Have you heard from them at all? Tell them I said hi :wave2:

Jodi, rope drop is absolutely essential if you want to do the ride without waiting for hours. It was madness.

ITA ::yes::

Thanks for joining in:goodvibes. We really love POP. We only had one issue with the transportation. THe food court can get crazy, but we just went at off times and it wasn't too bad.

I cannot believe that not even Fay could curb the interest in TSM! I love that ride, but thought for sure on a day with nothing but rain you'd be able to get on with ease.

As for Andrew and teenage stuff...he was very polite in Germany, but I give you mad props for taking someone else's child to WDW. There are days where taking your own there is trying.

ETA~I was eyeing that hat for myself, but figured people might wonder what was coming out of the top of my head. LOVE IT!

Wow! You met Jo twice?? Did I count right?
So what did u eat at Sci Fi? My fam won't go back--Daran hated eating looking at my back.

As for teen stuff--Ab sleeps with her phone==she texts and sets the wake up alarm. FWIW==I think teens need to go with a teen group to Disney.........with me going at another time!

Glad u had a good DHS day even with the rain! :thumbsup2

I would suspect that it is hard to take notes in the rain. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished!
Wow, I didn't know they would cancel your ADR if you are 15 min. late. I'll have to keep a close eye on the watch.

Just remember we are always watching;)

I couldn't believe he said that :sad2:

I never heard that rule before:confused:

Yeah I spotted you this time :yay: and thankyou about the girls :goodvibes

Only telling the truth:goodvibes

Other way around, they seated you first, well actually everyone else first we were on our own in the waiting area before we got called :rotfl2:

See this is why I should take notes

THey should only let teens in certain days and tell the adults which days they are so we aren't there:thumbsup2

I;m here I will catch uplater !! All these Focker reports are going to keep me busy!!

Hi Rosie

I would suspect that it is hard to take notes in the rain. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished!
Wow, I didn't know they would cancel your ADR if you are 15 min. late. I'll have to keep a close eye on the watch.

I had never had the issue before (not that I am ALWAYs last for ADR's, maybe becasue of the weather they were trying to make room for walk ups?:confused3

And it rained some more

Stitch woke us up this morning and I was happy. We got ready but were running a little behind schedule so we decided to cab it AK since we had to meet mom by 7:45. We get to AK, after a detour to the MK:confused: (the cab driver was too busy chatting on the cell phone to pay attention to where he was going, and find that the lanes are not yet open to enter the lot.

The cab pulls over to the side to wait (and jack up that fare) when Jim says hey, there’s your mother…she was waiting for the lanes to open so she could enter the parking lot. We throw money at the cabbie and head over to mom’s car. They finally open the parking lot and we park. We are so close we just walk to the gate. It was raining – hard! We take this picture and then proceed to the turnstiles.

JimmyAndrewatAK.jpg

We turn left and head over to Tusker House for our breakfast date with Donald Duck and his friends. We are seated almost immediately. Our server took drink orders and I attempted to take a picture of everyone at the table before it got messed and the characters started coming around. The batteries were dead and Jim forgot to pack the spare set in the camera bag (Side Note: We only brought the little camera for the 1st couple of days because of the rain). The server sent Jim over to the store across the way for batteries and everyone else went up for food. Everyone, but Jimmy and I had the juice and loved it. I tasted my moms, it was okay.

Jim came back with fresh batteries and I went to get plates for Jimmy and I while Jim waited with Jimmy in case any characters came around. I went through the line and got Jimmy some basic breakfast foods. I tried the potatoes that everyone raves about and they were awesome along with some eggs and sausage and a bagel I think. I take mine and Jimmy’s plates back to the table where I realized I forgot syrup for Jimmy’s waffles so I head back to the buffet when I hear a voice call Janet? I look to my right and there sitting at a table right on the other side of the wall from ours was our Focker friend Lessa, her brothers, and her mom. I think I had a look of surprise on my face, but I don’t know why because I knew she had the same breakfast planned. I run over and give her a big hug and she introduces me to to her mom and her brothers. We chatted for a few minutes and I went to get Jimmy his syrup. Again, no picture:sad2: .

After Jim had gotten his food and we were all situated the characters started coming around. I don’t really remember what order they came in (Lessa, maybe you can help me out here) but here are some pics.

I thought by moving this breakfast to Tusker House, a bigger facility, that it would be less frantic. I was wrong. I think it was just as noisy, if not more so because they can get more people in and the characters moved on pretty quickly. No need for us to return too soon, unless it is a specific request from Jimmy.

After breakfast Jimmy was saying he was cold. I had packed him all sleeveless shirts…Faye played havoc with my wardrobe selections.:headache: Mom was getting to leave, but I wanted to get Jimmy a different shirt to put on since he was saying he was cold.

Jim took the boys to the Safari while I shopped with mom and then went and got FP’s for Expedition Everest. We stopped in the store and I picked up a sweatshirt (something I never thought I would ever need in August) and another poncho (one had ripped) using mom’s handy dandy CM discount. Mom took off after this and I headed over to Asia and got FP’s for EE, which was showing a standby wait of 20 minutes. Faye may be helping me out here.

I walk over to the safari, and the boys are just getting off the ride. They were excited because they got the very first row. Our FP time was approaching rather quickly, AK was not that crowded at all so we walk back towards Asia and we have to wait 10 minutes before we can enter the FP line. We hangout until the FP time. Andrew and I rode first while Jim and Jimmy watched for us coming out of the mountain. Let me just say that this ride is awesome, but even though he meets the height requirement not something I would take Jimmy on for a couple of years. After we rode and checked out our picture Jim and Andrew rode. Jim loved it just as much as me. While they rode Jimmy and I checked out the store, of course.:rolleyes1

After our battle with the Yeti we walked over to Dinoland. Jimmy was really wanting to ride Primevil Whirl because that’s the ride Stacy talks about. Unfortunately he didn’t make the height requirement, by a pinkie finger. He was disappointed. I don’t get how he can make the height requirement for ToT and Space Mountain, but not this one…whatever. While the big boys rode PW he and I rode Dino Dumbo, played some games, and took some pictures.

JimmyonTriceratopsSpin.jpg

JimmywithDinoCar.jpg

RIght after this we were able to take our ponchos off becasue the sun came out:woohoo:

After they came off PW we rode Dino Dumbo again, we even made Andrew ride it, yeah I'm mean like that;)

We then headed over to Dinosaur ride. We weren’t going to let Jimmy ride but he wanted to, so we let him. He LOVED it. See, things you think they are going to hate they love.

As were coming out of Dinosaur we ran into Lessa and her family again, actually she spotted us again. They had just ridded EE so we chatted about how great the ride is and we split up saying we’d see each other later, and if not today at least at the planned Petal’s meet on Sunday.

We headed off to see It’s Tough to be a Bug because it is one of the things Jimmy requested and here is where I turn ugly on the 14 year old:scared: . He was complaining the whole time we were walking to ITTBAB because he wanted to go ride EE again. I went off on him, I told him that this was not just his vacation, but also Jimmy’s and that I was not going to shortchange Jimmy because of him. If he didn’t like the way we were doing things I could always call him mother and have her get him a flight home. Jim and I both told him from the beginning that he was going to have to do things that he would think are kiddie, but that he’d have to suck it up. Guess he didn’t believe me. While he pouted through ITTBAB, Jimmy took his glasses off. Did not like this one at all. Oh well, lesson learned, won’t do it again. He sat on Jim’s lap the whole time so he didn’t get totally freaked out. Some kids in there were screaming. I felt bad for them.

After ITTBAB I needed a cigarette or I may have been in jail for homicide at that point because Andrew was still pouting and it was *(& me off. We stopped at a DSA and I just smoked. Jim took Andrew off to the side and said something to him, I have no idea what, but the pouting stopped. After the cooling off period we headed over to FOTLK, which is our favorite show. It was awesome as usual and we sat in the lion section for a change, we usually wind up being giraffes (which sounds like sheep TFI)

It was still not raining when we came out of FOTLK, so were able to dispose of the ponchos for a while. We headed to Pizzafari for some lunch. The kids had pizza, Jim had the Italian Sandwich, and I had the chicken Cesear Salad. It was all yummy and just thing we all needed to rejuvenate us. We had enough of getting wet, so opted not to do Kali and had plenty of time before the parade so we headed back to Asia to see what the wait was for EE. The standby was 60 minutes, but the single rider line was only 10 minutes.

Andrew and I rode single rider, twice. Jim didn’t want to ride again so he took Jimmy off to one of the trails to look at animals.

It was now time for the parade, which is Jimmy’s favorite of all the parades, and it was still NOT raining.

JamminJungleParade3.jpg

JamminJungleParade6.jpg

JamminJungleParade11.jpg

After the parade we walk to the exit and the bus stop because we had a surprise waiting for Jimmy when we got back to the hotel. Just as we got under the bus covers the skies opened up. Whew, just made it. We get back to Pop, go to the room to wash up and get our mugs for dinner so we can get Jimmy his surprise. We put the ponchos on and slosh our way over to Everything Pop. We get there and there is Jimmy’s surprise…His friend’s Matt and Rose. We knew each other was going to be there, but we didn’t tell the kids…it was great.

PIC_0019-1.jpg

We grabbed some dinner for us all and just sit down and chat with our friend Denise while the kids watched TV and chatted about whatever it is 5 year olds chat about. Andrew ate and went off to the arcade. After we ate we let the kids play at the arcade for a while, and then we all went to our rooms.

Our plan for the next day was to swim and then hit EPCOT in the evening.

Side Note: Denise and I asked that our rooms be near each other, they didn’t need to be connecting but near each other. We were in building 9 and they were in building 2. Couldn’t have gotten any further apart if we tried.

Next Up: Beaches and Cream, The Kitchen Sink, EPCOT, and oh yea it rained some more

Breakfast character order :Donald, Mickey, Daisy, Goofy :thumbsup2

It was fortunate that we ran into you twice this day Janet, the second time was a surprise, I had to do a double-take as we almost walked right past you.

Glad that Jim pulled Andrew aside for a talk, I hope his attitude improved for the rest of the trip.
