The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, has anyone ever been?

Has anyone ever been to The Florida Aquarium in Tampa?

We're going to be taking a day trip to the west coast of Florida and was wondering if The Tampa Aquarium was worth it. Seen a website where you can get admission tickets for $20 a piece and it sounded like a great deal but was just wanting some personal experiences from anyone here on the boards.

Yes!!! We absolutely loved it. Had a hard time finding it but well worth it. So much fun and educational. Our whole family had a great few hours walking around. We also had a chance to see one of the large cruise ships parked right behind it. Also check online - lots of coupon deals. Go during the week - much less crowds.

I've been there a number of times. I agree with jump00's assessment. Well worth your time.

We had annual membership when the kids were little. There is a nice kids water play area out back too for little kids. We haven' been in years, but it was always a fun time.

It is not hard to find, but I live here so may be bias, it's near the port where the cruise ships leave.

Thanks for the input everyone. We will probably end up doing this on the day we visit the west coast of Florida. We both love aquatic life so I'm certain will will have a good time. The GF is a huge fan of sting rays and I've heard they have a lot of them. Also is it worth it to add on the extra tours that are available?

Lowry Park Zoo has a stingray petting pool. My kids have fed the stinrays there.

I did it a couple of years ago and was blown away. It was really nice and a comfortable way to spend 3-4 hours.
