I enjyed reading your reviews, keep going!!!
Thanks! I'm really going to try to keep up the momentum this time.

Great reviews and really cute kids!! As you can see I'm the Nana at our place and we're going to be "home " for 10 days in Oct, my g-daughters have been through every stage of eating or not eating there. They're now very vocal about they're favorites and helping plan the ressies , I Love it!!:cheer2:
Thanks so much. How neat that you have gotten to share all those experiences with your grandkids. I hope to have lots more dining adventures with my children and someday grandchildren. I'm trying to convince my DH to buy DVC.

Great reviews! Thanks for taking the time to post.
And thank you for reading It really helps knowing that people are reading.

Our first ressie was Tusker House too on our first trip. MY DS loved it so much we always make that our first ressie of our trip no matter what!!

Good reviews. Keep posting.

After our wonderful meal we went looking for the restrooms (yes, yes I know I'm talking about bathrooms on a food thread) and found them down a narrow hallway. My husband is permantley disabled from the military but he can usually walk with the use of canes or his walker, unfortunatley a broken foot on top of his normal problems meant a wheelchair with elevated leg rest for the duration of the trip. The hallway with the restrooms was to narrow too maneuver the wheelchair to even get it to the doorway of the restroom. I think a smaller wheelchair may have maneuverd in that space easier but not the one my husband was in. The CM directed us to another bathroom across from the resteraunt while we were able to get the wheelchair to the doorway the wheelchair (a wider manual one) would not fit through it. My husband ended up having to hobble into the bathroom. He's not too stable to begin with and is always a fall risk (hence the canes or walker) but with a broken foot and noone but our nine year old son around to help him it was nerve racking to say the least waiting for him to emerge. Anyway I know this is majorly off topic but I feel it deserves mention, as a heads up for any who might be visiting in a similar circumstance. Later in the day I did find a restroom near Expedition Everest that would have accomadated him but that diden't help much directly after breakfast.

I'm really suprised about the restroom doors. It seems to me that all the restrooms have the larger handicapped stalls, what's the point if you can't get in the door:confused3 Maybe a note to WDW ?

I believe they do all have the handicapped stalls. I know Tusker House does because my son used TH's bathroom and was confused as to why Daddy coulden't because "they had daddys big bathrooms" but yah that isen't to helpful if you can't get into it. Now as I said my husbands wheelchair was bigger (the medical supply companys have three adult seat widths available 18" 20" and 22") he's a larger man so the 22" was best for his comfort but I was surprised how many wheelchair acccessible places coulden't accomadate that wheelchair even though the medical supply company assured me it was very used size. Overall we found AK to be the least accessible of the parks which surprised me as it is newer than some of the others.

Thanks. My son looks like he wants to climb into Donalds arms. He loved the characters. The girls were pretty ambivalent about seeing them until we got there and then they had a blast.

Thanks for reading. I love the comment about locusts. That about sums up my son too.

So after our wonderful Tusker House breakfast we rode Safari and Kali Rapids and then said goodbye to DH who was by now in too much pain to deal with anymore park time. We rode several rides and then realized we were getting hungry again. I had planned on trying flame tree barbeque for lunch but I had no idea where that was and we were hungry right then so we looked around and saw a line for food and got in it. it turned out to be Yak and Yeti CS which I had decided against before the trip because I was sure Jonnie would want asian food if we were having it and the kids menu was very limited. It turned out not to matter though because once again a kind CM let him order off the adult menu (of course this could have been because we did have 4 adults listed on the keycard and only 4 people with us).
DS: surprised me and ordered the Asian Chicken Sandwich which he picked at. I think I remember him saying he liked the meat on the sandwich but not the sauce. For dessert he ordered the Mango Pie actually he ordered the mingo pie (a habit from his younger days when he was obsessed with flamingoes, thanks to his papa, and certain that mango and mingo had to be connected:rotfl:). Now I should tell you that Jonnie loves anything with mango's or mango flavoring but he hated this and he wasen't alone. None of us liked it. I diden't ask Jonnie what he would rank these but the sandwich wasen't bad. I remember tasting it and thinking it was pretty good.
DD12 (now 13): ordered the Shrimp Lomein which she liked alot and gave a 5 popcorn:: and the Mango Pie which she disliked alot and gave a 0 (and insisted I use this smily)so this was a hit and miss meal for her.

DD10 (now 11): ordered the Mandarin Chicken Salad which she liked and ranked a 4 popcorn::. She ate quite a bit of it which made me happy too. She also ordered the choclate cake which she emphatically gives a 5 popcorn:: with the caveate that everything chocolate is a 5:laughing:

me: I also ordered the Shrimp Lomein which really hit the spot that day so I will give it a 4 popcorn:: and the Frozen Lemonade which was refreshing but too frozen and hard to eat so I give it a 3 popcorn::. I shared it with DS who seemed to like it and it helped cool him down.

Our biggest problem here was seating there really wasen't anything available as it was majorly crowded. We found one table at the same time a family of four from New York did and decided to share which meant some of us stood and some of shared seats and nobody had any shade, but the company was good we had a nice conversation and a nice lunch so it wasen't all bad. I would rank this a 3 popcorn:: overall and would come back but only during non peak times when it might be less crowded.

Just for some visual interest and because I really like these pictures of the kids here's a scapbook page of us at the Animal Kingdoms parade.
JingleJungle1.jpg

After the parade the kids insisted on riding there favorite rides over again a few times. A bit much for me and it made and it made me feel a little sick so it was awhile until I was ready for more food and the kids diden't want to stop until they had to. It was EMH that day and the park pretty much emptied out after the parade so we got to do alot and it was dark by the time we found food. Once again I was thinking Flame Tree and ended up with the first thing we found which was Pizzafari. I really liked the look of this place inside. All the murals made it really fun and inviting. It was late and the place was pretty empty so we diden't really have any wait.
me: I ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and Yogurt Parfait my meal came with a side caesar salad. The pizza was just eh, but I'm not much of a pizza lover anyway and the parfait was warm and the granola topping was soggy not nearly as good as the one I had at Backlot Express. I give the Pepperoni Pizza a 1popcorn::.I pretty much just picked the pepperoni off. I really diden't like the crust at all. The salad on the side was dry and needed more dressing. The Yogurt Parfait I also give a 1popcorn::. It was just bad although I geuss that could have been because it was so late but still I would have thought it would have at least been cool.
DD 13: ordered a Cheese Pizza which she also diden't like much and gave a 2 popcorn:: and the Chocolate Mouse which she said was out of this world and gave a 5popcorn:: (this from the daughter who doesen't love choclolate, so high praise).
DD 11: got a Chicken Caesar Salad (she was on a salad kick this day) which she loved. Proclaimed her best salad and gave a popcorn::. She mostly picked the chicken off then ate some of the salad but the chicken was really good and fresh and the lettuce was crisp and also dressed enough with lots of cheese. I ate some of what she diden't want after discarding my meal. Of course she loved, loved, loved the Choclate Mouse and devoured it. She gave the Mouse a 5 popcorn::and was so into it she got some around her mouth in the process which started a bit of hyjinks with her brother.
DS 9: also ordered the Cheese Pizza which he seemed to like and ate most of and the Chocolate Mouse he absolutley loved. When he saw his sisters choclate face he thought it was hilarious and tried to recreate it on himself wich made all of the kids get a buit silly.

Overall I'd give this place a 2. I woulden't hurry to return here but if I did I would order the Chiken Caesar and Chocolat Mouse or the sandwich I've seen on their menu but somehow missed this night. The Mouse was the saving grace of the place and I say this after only tasting the few bites I managed to get the kids to share. :lmao:
