HI Jen! Glad you're enjoying MCB + Abs! It's becoming one of my favorite videos! Are you interested in some heavier weight training with bursts of cardio mixed in? My favorite Firm video is Complete Aerobics & Weight Training, which combines weight work with bursts of cardio in between to keep your heart rate up. I just love this tape! If you're just beginning with weights, you can use none at all or light weights to start. You can always heavy-up from there if you need more challenge. They also use the fanny lifter and sculpting stick, but you can substitute free-weights for the SS if you don't have one. Like other Firm videos, it took me a while to get a hang of the steps--don't give up! Cardio Sculpt is also weights with aerobic burst sequences video. You need weights and the FL for that. I try to alternate strict cardio tapes with AWT (aerobic weight training) tapes to maximize my results, and to let my muscle groups recover. Muscle recovery time is essential for muscle building. I hope I'm not confusing you--I am just really into The Firm workouts because I've seen such great results from them! Feel free to ask if you need more info. and I'm sure others will have more suggestions for you!
Let me ask you, do you have a track, swimming pool or weight room at your school? And if so, would you be interested in any of those workouts? That way you wouldn't have to concern yourself with purchasing equiptment. I don't know if that's an option for you, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I know I've gotten several exercise videos from Ebay for incredible prices, so maybe that's something you could check into. Have you ever heard of Walk Away The Pounds (WATP) tapes? It's a home walking program that you can do in your living room w/o a lot of space/equiptment. The videos come in one to four-mile options. If you get a video with 4 miles, she'll tell you when you've completed the 1, 2 and 3 mile sections so you can stop there if you choose (actually, I think she breaks down the workout by miles on all her tapes). When I started my weight loss program, I used those and quickly built up my fitness level. You don't have to use hand weights, but I did to add intensity. I think there is a set you can buy that comes with weighted balls. I don't use these tapes anymore because I prefer the challenge of the Firm, but those may be an option. As for Abs, Firm has a video called Ab Sculpt, which is @ 30 min. (give or take) of just abs/core work with some back strengthening thrown in. I've only used it a few times (I should do more ab work, but don't!), and I thought it was a good ab workout. Just some thoughts...
