The Febuary 2005 Thread

The 10 of us will be staying in three rooms at the POP from Feb 2 - Feb. 6th.
First time at the POP. Can't beat $55 a night. Well I guess the $49 a night AP rate is better but we dont have an AP.
Can't wait!

We are heading there from the 5th-12th. We are staying at OKW as were are DVC members. I am bringing my DH, each of our best friends since when we were kids (they are an engaged couple now) and our very dear friends from college. Can't wait!

Entire Family will be there February 25 - March 5. Original trip was scheduled (sniff) last week, but Ivan the Terrible has caused us to move it to Feb.

Originally I was really depressed about losing our October trip. I had heard SO many posters gush about how slight the crowds were that time of year. However, after seeing how many DIS'ers will be there in Feb, my faith is renewed, as I know all of you experts would never book trips expecting large crowds...umm...right?

We will be staying off site at the Marriott Imperial Palms.

Hope to see lots of lime green - I'll have mine!!!

It depends on when in February... the very first time my little boy and I went, we were meeting up with a friend and her kids and we went during President's Week. Down here, no one even mentions President's DAY unless it's about a sale, so we were clueless. Our first day when we arrived, and drove past the MK gate, there was a big sign: "Welcome to Magic Kingdom! PARK FULL" Yes, it was so crowded, it was closed to any more guests.

We didn't do much that week... and I was almost scared away from WDW for good. But then I discovered the DIS boards and we have always gone the first week of February since then, and what a difference!! The only thing that beats it is the first week in December.

I'm not sure when President's Week even is next year, but if you are going then, just be prepared and you won't be surprised like me! You're smart enough to be at these boards, so that's half the game won right there.

President's Week crowds will likely begin Thursday the 17th or Friday the 18th. President's Day is Monday the 21st and I imagine the crowds will continue throughout that entire week. I would imagine that MelodyMack will be at the tail-end of the President's Week vacationers, but it should clear out considerably after the first few days.

I am getting a little worried. We are going from Feb. 15 to 28. We were told this was the best time to go as the weather is starting to warm up (mid 70's) and it would not be too crowded. This is our first trip to WDW. We have never been away on vacation like this in our 40 some odd years. Do they normally close the park when it gets too crowded? We are hoping for a wonderful vacation.

I wouldn't worry about it. We've been several times in February. It's a gret time to go. One trip coincided with Presidents' Day weekend, and the crowds were heavier, but still fun. If MK happens to reach capacity, you still have other options. I'd plan a few quiet days that weekend. Maybe hang out at your resort, and visit other resorts on the grounds. Since you have a long trip planned you have plenty of time to see it all! Enjoy!!!

My daughter's entire High School Band and Choir will be there Feb. 10 -14. They will be staying offsite. Alot of the parents including my best friend and myself will be staying at the POP Century! Can't wait! This is my first trip without the little ones, it should be interesting to say the least!
