Just off the Fantasy yesterday. Overall - a great trip. This was our 6th DCL cruise and we are already planning our next one. There was some sort of cold bug going around the ship. DD14 woke up with it Tuesday morning. DH woke up with it yesterday. No fever. Just nasal congestion. Talked to several families that had a version of it. I'm thinking our next cruise will be in the summer - far away from cold and flu season.

Star Wars Day at Sea was fun - but we booked this cruise prior to the SWDAS announcement. It was a fun addition but I certainly wouldn't have wanted to pay the upcharge. (We got lucky and booked this WAY in advance and didn't have to pay the upcharge.) I did notice some little details that day. No Mickey waffles at Cabanas and the flowers in the common area bathrooms had 2 roses instead of the 3 roses that normally make a "hidden" Mickey. It was 100% Star Wars and very little Disney that day.

We experienced some Pixie Dust on this cruise. DD14 is very interested in entertainment production as a career. DH asked one of the cast members a question about what she should consider for a college major. Next thing we knew, she was invited to spend some time with the Assistant Stage Manager who was very kind in spending 40 minutes with us - giving DD hints and suggestions about pursuing a career with Disney. It was great!

Also - we were scheduled for the Scuba Dive excursion in Grand Cayman. DD couldn't dive safely due to her cold and she decided not to go on the excursion. DH went to the Port Adventures Desk to let them know and they refunded her fee for the excursion. That was a bit of Pixie Dust we didn't expect!

Quick tip: Don't sit outside at Cabanas in white shorts unless you want soot all over your butt. :/

Really? We sat outside at Cabanas in March with no soot issues ...

Yep. Doing laundry today and had to use bleach to get the soot stains out of my shorts. I suspect it may depend on how the wind is blowing but I definitely had soot on my shorts. I was unable to wear them for the remainder of the cruise.

Yes, could well be...but can't figure what they would be burning to generate ?

Such a new ship ..I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem ..but as I mentioned,I didn't see it once and we had a very aft balcony so assuming wind direction does play a part.
