The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Thanks so much TK!!! I am hoping to get Tom to get serious about some dates---of course I am going to be leaning towards some dates that would or could overlap with you a bit----meeting you in person would be SUCH a highlight to the trip---I JUST know it!!!!

Oh, aren't you sweet!

I just can't believe how many Lapuettes may be down there at the same time. It's very exciting! :goodvibes

I hope all your moving plans work out for you okay!!! If I were closer, I would help you move---LOVE ME SOME MOVING!!! I know, I'm weird!!! But we moved a lot when I was growing up---I moved for the 24th time the day I moved into our home here, and I was only 25 years old! (We had to move a lot for my Dad's job). Anyway, because of all that moving, I grew to love organizing everything for the move and reorganizing it when we got into our new home. I can't wait for the day that Tom and I get to move from this house into our next, so I can start the reorganizing all over again! I'm talking--I have moving charts, labels, a color-coded system, THE WORKS!!!! My moving team last time loved me so much---they said they never had to second guess where things were supposed to go!!! I know, I'm sick in the head---can't help it!:rotfl:
Wow. That is something. I am not nearly that organized. I really hate moving but am looking forward to the location change so it won't be so bad. I'm ready to start packing though! I need to start collecting boxes.

Really? Are they sturdier?

Hey, you know what's great too? If you have any friends / family with babies, the cases that diapers come in are awesome!

They are much sturdier since bananas are heavier fruit. I worked at a farm stand type store back in college and I used the banana boxes for every move to and from the dorms.

Hmm, good to know. I don't plan on moving soon, but I'll have to file that away for the future. :thumbsup2

Liquor store boxes are great for books! They aren't that big, but they can hold the weight... and big boxes are baaad for books cause books get heavy quick :goodvibes

I have moved waaay too many times in my life...

I have so, so many books to move....:sad2: But whenever I "purge" stuff I just cannot get myself to let go of them!

I have a hard time getting rid of books too. They're like my little treasures.

I can't get rid of my books either. BUT I won't have to move them because most of them are in storage at my MIL's. We just don't have the room to store them or have them on a book shelf in our teensy current apartment.

I think I have 4 or 5 HUGE tupperware containers of them at her house. :rolleyes1 Plus I could probably feel another one with the ones I keep at my apartment. I clearly have book issues. Which is why I am so intrigued by the Kindle from Amazon. I think this would be a great space saver for me! I love to reread books and I think it would just be an awesome thing to have. I am going to look into a bit more.

What is it?

I used to have a ridiculous amount of books---hello, former English teacher here---but I couldn't STAND how much they began to accumulate, so I have gotten quite in a good habit of circulating books---when I get a good one, I start passing them around to others that I think will enjoy it. I feel much better about it being spread around and read over and over again, than collecting dust on my shelves. Don't get me wrong, I do have some that I kept for personal reasons, or for a private collection, but I have been able to pass on most of them through the years. As much as I LOVE Barnes and Noble's, I get the majority of what I read now either through others or the library. Having said that, I should also say that I don't get that much of a chance to read right now--taking care of Megan and the house has me quite consumed with other things---to the point that the majority of my reading is merely picking through the many magazines I receive each month here and there. I know......very sad.....I do miss my reading time!!! I hope it will return at some point soon!!!!

People at my yard sales love me because I sell once read hard cover books for a dollar. Good thing I don't read much :lmao:

I'd want to be Leia too, if it meant I got to kiss Han Solo! :lmao:

I think I may have missed you, but if not, I could recommend some good books! :goodvibes

For sure! :thumbsup2

That was the last time I was on this morning -- today was crazy teaching day.

Oh!! I love this one. :rotfl:

Good Morning Lapuettes.

I'm happy to report that Marc and I have found an apartment for when our lease is up on April 1st. We've already paid our deposit and are just waiting to see which ones open up for our move in date. I'm really quite excited. The apartment complex is an upgrade, so we will have a pool, fitness center, club house and even a community garden in the summer. :woohoo:

It's going to be a busy spring for us!!

I am so excited for you and your new apartment!!!

Morning Lapuettes! Man it's cold outside today. I'm already officially sick winter. Usually I'm not this bad until at least February, but it feels like this year has been nothing but lousy weather. It doesn't help that my mom keeps calling me from Florida where she's visiting my grandmother telling me that the weather is beautiful and it's like a great spring day.:sad2: My father meanwhile just keeps telling me it's nice but if he's going to be in Florida he'd rather be in Disney.

I am sick of winter, too. I want spring NOW!

Hey gang---I have been doing some number crunching over the weekend to compare LOTS of different situations to our 40% off code. I only used info for WL because you know how badly I want to stay there next trip---doesn't mean that I will NOT look elsewhere, but it has my heart right now. I don't know if I did it wrong, but so far, the 40% off code will be cheaper by a little than free dining or renting points at the VWL. I figured for 7 nights, 8 days, with the basic dining plan for everything. They were all very close, but the 40% came out a little ahead. I used $10/per point as my amount for renting because that seems to be the average rate. I know TK has said in the past that free dining was cheaper---did I figure this wrong?!?!?! The only thing I didn't figure in was cost of tickets (because that would be a constant in all ratios) and tax, because the lower the pre-tax amount, the lower the taxed amount. Help me out here gang......do you think it is probably the better offer, or did I just hit the calculator buttons incorrectly?!?!?!

Oh, I am no good at this. I will tell you, though, that today I was crunching numbers for a Connor Birthday Weekend in September. How fun would that be??? ;)

Lapuettes, I just finished one of the best books ever. I started it yesterday and came home from work and camped out on the couch reading, I couldn't put it down.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

MIL gave it to me on Saturday, I was skeptical but I seriously couldn't put it down.

TK --- The kindle is an electronic reading device where you can download full books onto it and store them on there. You can also download magazines, newspapers and even blogs.

I keep looking at the book description of it on amazon and wondering if it was good. Now that I have someone's opinion that I trust, I will have to put it on my book wish list.

I have been on a book binge lately -- I read two books this weekend alone.

I thought of you while I was reading it. It's all in letter form, which kinda turned me off but I loved it. I literally just held the book to my chest when I finished it and just beamed. It's lovely and wonderful.
