The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Right now I'm thinking of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (this cruise would be my 5th with them), but I haven't ruled out a Disney cruise either. I'm also toying with the idea of inviting my close girlfriends and their families along too since we're all turning 40 within a year of one another.

Both of those sound great! And bringing the friends and family is awesome. I hope it comes to fruition for you. :thumbsup2

Love that idea. I'm heading to Italy with my mom for mine. She's always wanted to go there so we finally set a date. I want to do the Adventures by Disney tour, she wants to do a Perillo tour. Sigh. She'll probably win.

Oh, that's so nice. One day I think it would be great to do a Mediterrean cruise. :goodvibes

So my DS12 was home sick from school today. And we've been watching POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl this afternoon!:lovestruc I think I may like that one the best. I love the whole in-and-out of the moonlight bit. "You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner....you're in one!"

.

I LOVE that line! :thumbsup2

DUDE. I am SO the Queen of Liking Me Some Alone Time. At Disney and otherwise.

I find it inspiring that so many of us relish in this. :thumbsup2

I and I alone will get you through THIRTY (say it with me now). I will. You'll see.

DUDE!

YOU JUST OUTED ME!!!! ;)

Seriously, if you can't get me through it, I don't know who can.

Seeing as how I'm going to hit...that number before you do. I mean if I don't pull through who's going to pull you through??? :upsidedow

I never get irritated with BF. NEVER.
EVER.
Except for the five times a week he drives me to want to throw something.
Other than that never.
;)

Heh heh.

There are so many things I could say right now, but I'm holding my tongue.

Because I do want both of you to come back at some point. That was fun, wasn't it? :goodvibes

Nuh-uh.
:sad2:
You made that a statement of fact long ago on these boards.
Right about the time I was bemoaning turning 29.

Seriously, if you can't get me through it, I don't know who can.

Hmm. I do. ;)

I figure it simply won't phase me or I'll be completely comatose.
Either way.

Oh. In case no one knows what in God's name TK and I are referring to (not sure if she's mentioned it on here)...we had ourselves a little meet. At TKs abode.
It involved wine.
MarioKart.
Heavenly prosciutto and a meal fit for a king.
But no pictures.
Neither of us thought to take pictures.
BAD DISERs! BAD DISERs!

Eh. Next time.

I'm caught up on 10 of 44 subscriptions.

::sigh::

And with that I'm heading out ladies. A good night to all. Talk to you tomorrow.

Nuh-uh.
:sad2:

Um, honey.

That was so many threads ago, I was hoping everyone would have forgotten by now. :lmao:

Hmm. I do. ;)

This caused me to say "Heh heh" out loud.

I now have a picture in my head of Jack Sparrow fixing his mustache and goatee as he's trying to woo Elizabeth.

Heh heh.

Glad I have my own personal Sparrow, I just don't know what I'd do without one. ;) ;)

I figure it simply won't phase me or I'll be completely comatose.
Either way.

I'm sure we could find some way to celebrate in style. What day of the week does yours fall on?

Eh. Next time.

I think I did mention you coming over, but I didn't post about everything we did. And thank you on the meal fit for the king, I know you told DH, but I'll tell him again.

And man that wine was good. You feel free to bring that any time.

And I can't believe I didn't take a single photo. I was having too much fun! :goodvibes

Not only is Topamax prescribed for migraines (I take Imitrex, though) but it is also used in some cases for bipolar disorder/depression. One of the side effects is not "thinking clearly", feeling "foggy" and/or confused. Some therapists have nicknamed it "Dope-amax" for that reason. So if you're not feeling any more clearheaded despite the meds, that could be why.

I hope this all gets better for you. I'm glad the issue was caught before it could get any more serious. :goodvibes

Thanks! I have read that too about the Dopamax... It's both amazing and terrifying what you can find on the internet when you start googling... :rotfl:
I didn't know it was treated for bipolar disorder or depression though which explains a lot as I have been also feeling racey and manic... hence the midnight purchase of disney trips I cannot take or afford... :rotfl: I haven't been on it too long though and expect it'll all even out once I adjust to it... I hope...

Have a good night!

TK, I know the idea of aging can stink but it really is better than the alternative... I hope when the day comes you'll be in your happy disney place and won't be phased by the number!

You're right. :goodvibes You're totally right. Thanks for giving me some perspective.

Topamax... it's making me lose weight - which is great ... I am always thirsty - which is annoying... diet pepsi now tastes so horrible I can't drink it - which was heartbreaking... and my hands and feet tingle pretty bad w/ pins & needles - which is just weird. It is also prescribed alot for migraines which I also used to suffer from but no longer get... I am assuming as a result of taking the topamax :thumbsup2

My Aunt is on Topamax for her migraines and she is mourning the fact that her soda tastes carppy now. When I asked her if she was a soda addict like me, we got into a 20 minute discussion about how much we love soda. :rotfl2:

I really hope things start to look up for you.

I'll be thinking of you. Hope it's not too bad tomorrow morning. I'm not looking forward to the weather tonight into tomorrow either. It seems they are calling for all kind of nasties - snow, freezing rain, ice. I am so sick of winter already and it's only January. I can live with the snow, but this winter it seems like it''s all ice all the time.

Oh, it got better (said in a sarcastic voice). About the time I got home, nasty, nasty storms went ripping through Alabama directly towards us. When the county next to us went under a tornado warning, I took the kids to my SIL's (she has a basement). Charles refused to come and stayed home. The storms split right around us, so I kind of overreacted, I guess.

I am having a drink now.

Yep, Charles is on that one. He hasn't complained about soda tasting funny, but he does have the whole pins and needles thing from time to time.

I really really really miss Diet Pepsi! I used to drink a 12 pack a day easy!

Time for my nightly update!!!! Sorry girlies---it will get better this week.......I hope!!!

Becky---sending out big hugs to you sweetie!!! I hope everything will be okay for you---I wish we could magically make that whole situation just disappear!!! But we are here for you through it all!

TK and Tink---I am so glad that Becky reminded you both again how we need not fear the passing of another year, because the alternative IS far worse---that we must embrace our age and celebrate each birthday to the fullest. I was going to have to pull out the all-too familiar reminder of what happened to me, to once again right your perspectives so that you can enjoy TURNING 30 and relish what you have accomplished. I would hate to bring it up again, but it would be worse if you guys would have to go through something that dire to gain that perspective for yourselves......it will be easier on you if you just learn from my experience. 30 is a beautiful thing....a wonderful age!!! Trust me, you will turn 30, and then realize how you at times feel sorry for those younger than you who have not gained the wisdom and experience that you possess. Women like ourselves, are like fine wines----we only get better as we age.....TRUST ME Girlies!!!! I can't wait until you join our "club!"

CP--so sorry to hear that bad weather was running amuck in ATL!!! Glad to hear that you were okay afterall!!!!

Enjoy your Wednesdays girls!!! Talk to you soon, Jen

Aww, CP.

I am having a drink now.

Good for you! Drink up me hearties, yo ho! pirate:

Oh, honey, I know you're right. Trust me, I do. I'm very, very grateful for all that I have, and I've gotten over mourning what I don't. Mourned it, moved on. I wrote a little bit about this on my ptr, but, DH and I have a lot of things up in the air right now that are lending to my consternation. Once those issues get squared away, I have a feeling that this birthday will seem like a breeze to me.

It's hard to explain. I don't want to talk about it yet and jinx anything. :upsidedow

Morning, Lapuettes!

YOU WON'T BELIVE THIS!

My mother got a pin code. :scared1:

Seriously, in her e-mail last night, she got a pin code. It says 40% off of values, but it's possible that it could be for other resorts as well.

This lends to a serious train of thought. One we plan to explore this afternoon. You just never know. ;)

This is LL's lurking co worker. My daughter suffers from migraines and is taking Topamax, among other things. She had the same side effects you did. The tingle went away after a long while but comes back every now and then. She also lost weight (she's thin to begin with) and is always thirsty. She swithced to water because like you she didn't like the taste of diet pepsi anymore. (weird) Hope everything works out for you. You will be in my prayers.

Oh CP. I hope the weather gets better down there for you.

Good Morning Lapuettes.

I hope everyone made it to work safe and sound for those who are experiencing wintry weather. :goodvibes

It's fine here this morning, finally!

Of course it is still wet and muddy and Nala decided to give me a parting gift of a muddy footprint on my khakis as I was trying to take her out one last time. Now I have something to remind me of her all day long. :headache:

:rotfl: Just remember how cute she is. Both of my cats scratched me last night. Ruby tried to jump up on me and she missed and did a lovely scratch all the way down my knee. Sully was laying on the computer desk, over my hand on the mouse  and I tried to move him and apparently I startled him and he scratched my hand. Jerks. :snooty:

I'm not allowed anywhere near WebMD. So says both my boyfriend and my doctor.

Hello Jenny-girl. :)
29, for whatever reason, was the birthday I had a tough time with. 30 I'm not too worried about. In fact I'm working on "perspective" this year.
Oh, and NOT eating as many pieces of cheesecake. :goodvibes

My daughter suffers from migraines and is taking Topamax, among other things.

Ugh. for your daughter. Thankfully the migraines I get are few and far between, so that I can just treat as needed with Advil Migraine or, if they're really bad, Imitrex. I have a worse time with tension headaches. They're much harder to get rid of.

My BEST remedy for both - soft blankies, squishy pillow, drawn shades and hours of sleep.
Granted, that's also my best remedy for Monday mornings, but we won't go there. ;)

I hope everyone made it to work safe and sound for those who are experiencing wintry weather. :goodvibes

UGH.
"Ice-making it FUN to drive."
Yuck.
My 30-minute commute to the train was doubled, but at least I got here safely.
In retrospect, the trees look like they're straight out of Narnia all encased in ice.
My car? Not so much.

Morning all! Careful if it's slippery where you are!

:cool1:  :yay: My PIN code just said it was for values too but when you called it applied to all resorts and packages too... although doing the math I could never make it work where the package seemed worth it...

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom to care! I am sure it will all be fine eventually...

I'm not allowed anywhere near WebMD. So says both my boyfriend and my doctor.
sound words of wisdom... I always left webMD sure I had a brain tumor... even when I didn't!!! :rotfl: :lmao:

OK - yesterday was my afternoon of panic and my night of pity... today I am over it and ok! It is what it is... and whatever it is, isn't going to kill me and I am going to be all right, no matter what I have to go through to get there!

I'll keep you guys updated but I might not talk about it a lot... or I might... I don't know... this is new... twice yesterday I think I scared some poor person who happened to be waiting on me in some capacity when I would say or do something out of the ordinary and without thinking I would say "sorry, must be the brain tumor" she didn't know how to react!!! Humor helps...

Thanks for being here for me and for continuing to update all your lovely trip reports so I can live vicariously through your Disney fun!!!

Hey. 2SP! :wave2: :flower3:
a.) I've missed you. right back at ya
2.) And you said your trip would NEVER get here. SIX MONTHS girlie girl!
Tres.) I am getting into full force with the planning :surfweb: now that we've hit 2009....I'm going to be unbearable for the next 6months 3weeks and 2days:rotfl2:
Could you girls BE any more beautiful?! Thank you...I agree but then I'm just a tad biased;)

Just bought the book (with the CD). I was curious. I'll let you know how it is.

In the UK there is a channel showing Paul McKenna's 5 week course over the whole of this week, I love to read but not that type of reading:confused3 so the book would just lie on a book self gathering dust. The programme's are making sense so far and I'm getting into the technique so fingers crossed I'll be an absolute Goddess by the time 31July arrives:lmao: . I'll keep you up to date with my progress
