I have a question about the program. When you take into consideration the work done on the homes, the new furnishings, the labor involved and the trip the family take, that's got to be a lot of money. I'm no tax expert, but usually the IRS comes knocking on people's door when they get something for nothing. Do these people have to pay tax on this? I would think they do. I would bet that some of the makeovers, are worth a lot of money. How are these poor people paying the tax? I'd hate to think they will lose their nice homes because they can't pay the tax. I know that none of the winners of the HGTV Dream Home contest have been able to keep the homes they've won because of the tax liability. Just wondering.
