The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

I'm also a size 20/22 and I wear mostly sleeveless shirts. I used to worry about it, but came to realize that I'd rather be sleeveless and comfortable then covered in sweat. Go sleeveless and be comfortable - it's your vacation!! Enjoy yourself!

:woohoo:

Hi I am a pooh size 16/18 and yes I would. I am not going too impress anyone I just want to enjoy my time with my family and they love every fluffy inch of me. As for what other people think who cares your never going to see them again and they may become fluffy and hot in the future . Enjoy yourself and dress for comfort.

Hello ^_^

I'm just curious, what exactly is 'Pooh Sized'? I get that it's more for the 'plus' sized men/women but is there a standard of size/weight?

I have some weight to me but I don't want to offend anyone if I'm not really pooh sized :worried:

As far as I am concerned you are welcome. There is no requirement to post size/ weight so who would actually know?!?!

Okay my fluffy friends…I am just back from our trip with 6 full days in the park. 1st, it was HOT. So you ask, HannaBelle how was the weather?

"It's hot! Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest thing is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking." Well, tell me what it feels like. "Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! It's so damn hot, I saw these little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" What do you think it's going to be like tonight? "It's gonna be hot and wet! That's nice if you're with a lady, but ain't no good if you're in the jungle!"

Seriously, I will never ever go in the summer again. I love Mickey and I am a commando kind of girl, but I had to leave each day by 1pm or only do things that were inside rides and attractions. I was so miserable! We would go back to the parks for dinner or after dinner and 4 out of the 6 evenings were cut short due to thunderstorms and lighting. I was very disappointed, but nothing to be done about it!

I am female, 5’ 3” tall, not so busty, wear a size 28/30 and I am pear shaped. I rode/did everything except the following:

MK
Walt Disney World Railroad – closed due to weather

Triceratops Spin – just didn’t make time

A few of the shows were a squeeze in the seats, but overall nothing I could not do! The Kali River Rapids belt was very tight. I had read to aim for the red belts b/c they were longer, but I only had orange belts in my float. It was a short ride, but worth it. We had 2 days (rope drop, afternoon break & back post dinner) at MK and Epcot and 1 full day at AK & 1 full day at DHS. I did not have any issues with turnstiles anywhere. I did pay attention and went sideways and try to choose the ones that were more roomy!

I wore new balance athletic shoes, Teva flip flops and 2 different pair of Fit Flops. I am not a croc lover. The Fit Flops win hands down for comfort. I wore them 4 of the 6 days and all non-park days. The day I wore my tevas, I got a blister on the bottom of my foot and the day I wore the new balance, I got blisters on the sides of my feet.

I would absolutely recommend getting Body Glide. I used it on my feet and all my rubbing together parts. DS18 loves it and it did not sweat off. We did re-apply during break time mid-day.

Sorry if this is TMI, but inquiring minds want to know!

PS...I did have to ask for an extender on my flights and I was squooshed, but DH loves me and shares his space. He is not small either...6'3" at 250lbs.

I am arriving at CSR in 57days :cool1:

I have a question for anyone pooh sized who has stayed there, I want to use the slide, I am hopeful as it is a open slide at the pool versus a tube but am unsure if I will fit...anyone have any feedback on the slide at the Dig Site Pool?

I am 5'5" and wear between a 22 and a 26 depending on brand and type of clothing...

Ok, what kind of weather was it? PotC is an inside attraction. :confused3

Thank you both. I'm going to give sleeveless a go!

It was a huge lighting storm with scattered showers. I assumed PoTC would be open too, but nope. DH thinks it is b/c the boats run on water and water is a conductor. The only thing we go into that night was Hall of Presidents, the funnel cake stand and the bathroom! My family refused to go and see Country Bears.

Ok, that makes sense. LOL I was thinking that it was just HOT, HOT, HOT. I couldn't imagine how it could get so hot that Pirates wouldn't run. That'd be like surface of the sun, all the water was evaporated and the boats were sitting on the bottom hot. :rotfl2:

I haven't heard much talk here about the rides at DisneyQuest. Anyone Pooh sized ride the rides at DisneyQuest?

First in answer to Disney Quest question, my son and I went a few years ago and I didn't have any trouble fitting in/on anything. We did the create your own rollercoaster, which I think is the most enclosed thing, and it was absolutely no problem. I am 5'8" and 263 lbs, usually wear a size 24, and my weight is fairly equally spread but I'm more of an apple than a pear.

Second I have some advice for fellow poohs. The last several times my son and I have gone to Disney we went in very early June, first week, as soon as schools here in TX get out and it was SOOO HOT!!! Didn't stop us from doing what we want but we'd definately have to take a long afternoon break to escape the heat and I went through at least two sets of clothes a day cause when we went in for afternoon break my clothes would be 8 kinds of disgusting. This year my son had a four day weekend off from school in mid May (don't ask me to explain why I wouldn't be able to), just one of those weird fluke things. So, because money is tight right now (I'm getting my Masters to become a Nurse Practitioner) we decided a quick four day trip was better than none. We normally go for 8 or 9 days. I was so happily suprised at how much cooler it was just three weeks earlier in the year (not cool, just cooler) and how much less the crowds were. And, as a happy suprise we ended up being there for the first Star Wars weekend which was fun!! We did as much in those four days as we usually do in 8 during the crowded time of year (when school is out) So my advice is pull the kids out of school for two days in the cooler time of year, when the crowds are so much less, and go have a cooler, cheaper, trip and do just as much stuff! This is my plan from now on. Next time we go it will be when it is cool. There is only so much sweating in public this big girl wants to do! :lmao:

I haven't heard much talk here about the rides at DisneyQuest. Anyone Pooh sized ride the rides at DisneyQuest?

My husband and I are pooh-sized (I am 20/22) and went to DQ June 16. We rode in everything we wanted to without even thinking about it. We did not do any of the virtual stuff but from what I could see there was no small seats or small areas to get into. The rafts anyone could get in. The airships I saw I think everyone was standing. Another room had motorcycle things and a virtual hood. I didn't pay much attention to the virtual stuff.

We went in the astroblaster cars a couple times and there was plenty of room and the seatbelts were no problem at all. The instructions say that the seatbelts have to be fastened for your car to work and they spend a lot of time before the game starts making sure your seatbelt is on you. This was really fun but the balls that you load into the cannon leave your hands dirty.

All the games have normal seats and no enclosures. There are car and motorcycle games that were perfectly fine. I was clumsy getting in one, the airplane, because I am short and was being clumsy. Most of the games you stand in front of. Basketball shoots and pinball games etc.

There is a slow elevator between floors. My biggest problem was I wore a nice outfit with khaki shorts and it is kinda grubby in there. Not really bad but I was conscious of trying to stay clean.

Hi you should be fine Disney is very Pooh friendly. The only thing to remember is the turn style getting to the haunted Mansion is tight the ride is ok. Space Mt is low and you only have so long to get in and out. Nemo , pooh and Peter Pan and Huented Mansion moves as you get on and off . My trip in 2005 I was larger than you and I went on everything. My only warning is the walking. My son calls it the Epcot Death March :rotfl:. We are walking now for out 2012 trip we are up to 6 miles a day hoping to get to 9 that is what we average a day at Disney. Hope you try everything you want and have fun. :wizard:

How r the seats on toy story mania? Im 5'8 size 30/32... do they have the twist bars before every ride? Those things are tight and embrassing to use a handicap entrance uknow? How about when u go see a show how are the seats there? I haven't been there since 1995 and I was thinner then. Plz reply.

I am about your size and height and was able to do and ride anything. You will be fine in Toy Story Mania and the shows. Most shows are bench still seats. BTW I was worried also before I went but everything went fine and I had no trouble riding or seeing anything. The only thing that might be tight and I only heard this because I didn't ride them nor had the desire to ride was the Astro Orbiter and the Dumbo Elephants. Have Fun and don't worry...this is Disney and everything will Magically fit.

No one will laugh at you :flower3: If you have trouble with the turnstiles, just go through them sideways :)
