The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

also found that using Body Glide on my feet works wonders. I use it on the soles, sides and between my toes and that has stopped the blisters. I have worn crocs with socks and also sneakers with socks. This is the only thing that worked for me.

I'm going to have to try that next time for my husband! thanks for the tip!

This thread is amazing. My BF and I leave for our trip in 66 days and this thread has helped immensely. I am 5' 275, and he is 5'10 2xlt. We just went shopping for him at Casual Male XL Outlet yesterday and got some great deals.

My current dilemma is shoes...currently I don't have any park worthy shoes. I saw someone post about the Ahnu Benicia II? I would love to try those. they look comfortable, and cute. What kinds of socks do people wear with those? or can I wear none at all? Do your feet sweat?

We will be staying at FW for 5 nights :)

Thanks everyone for your great tips!

I got the Ahnu Benicia II several months ago. They have held up well for be in day to day walking. However, now they are starting to totally wear out already! I am not happy about this since they cost like $100. So I am not sure I will be wearing them to WDW. We still have three months left before our trip and I am not sure they shoes will hold up until then. I might just get a new pair of Reef sandals to wear instead. I wear just regular ankle socks with my Ahnu shoes though. It is mostly the inside of the shoes that are wearing out and making squeaking noises when I walk now.

Anyway, just wanted to update on those. They were really great for when I went to DL when the shoes were still really new, but now I am not so sure they will old up well for WDW. If I got another pair to wear there, they would be great. They seem to be awesome when they are new, but don't break in too well. Weird for shoes.

My husband and & have been off of meat & most animal products; we are beginning day 6. I'm not hungry but my digestive system is trying to adjust. We have no political agenda but trying it for purely health reasons. My husband read the book China Study and I'm reading it now. Very eye opening and confirms many things I have read/heard. Wish us luck!

Wow, I love this thread! We are a pooh size couple and have done a dining review, but we had some negative feedback about how fat we were. We have been discouraged that some would be so mean, but thankfully the mod deleted the comments off our review.

Ok, here's my question: what are so good about the Teva flip flops. I hate most all flip flops because they give me blisters, but I would love to wear flip flops. Thanks so much.

Where has this thread been all my life?? Lol... Thats terrible that anyone would make nasty comments about your weight! Just awful! I am pooh sized (size 22/24,most around my middle)and going to the World in 3 weeks, and am so so so glad I found this thread!:goodvibes

subscribing!

My mom just gave me the China Study book and I am interested in reading it. I have been a vegetarian for about 16 months and would like to work towards becoming vegan.

We will be at Disney in December and as well as being Pooh Sized, I will be almost 6 months pregnant!!! :scared1: Slighty nervous about getting in rides with a big huge belly, but atleast I don't have to worry about any thrill rides. I don't think the baby would appreciate EE! lol

I was pretty close to being a vegetarian when I was pregnant w/ my kids. Smells of meat made me sick. But, my love of fast food came back after delivery. I never thought my husband would give up meat but he has done well. It's not too hard for me but I do love the convenience of fast food so that's my temptation. The China Study has been an awakening. It's made me want to be a vegetarian and strive to be a vegan. I'm hoping I will eventually be a smaller Pooh Size w/ cutting out meat. Congrats on being a vegetarian for 16 months and on the bundle of joy. There is so much to do at WDW you won't miss the big rides. Have a great time!

I can't begin to thank everyone who has contributed to this boad thread enough! I'm very Pooh sized (24/26) and tall (bit over 6') on top of it. Most of my family (9 of us total) are going to Disney World in October (66 days........not that I'm counting) and until I found this thread I've been worried SICK that I wouldn't fit on anything and that the whole trip would end up being horribly embarassing. Now I'm not worried at all!

We will be in Disney as a party of 9 also -at the same time (if I counted correctly!) Oct 11-18...where are you staying? We're at the FW Cabins, and I too am Pooh Sized :goodvibespooh:

Yes I just called for the 3rd time and was told the same thing. They weren't even aware of the items that were placed on a longer backorder! Said the emails go out before their systems are updated. Seriously????? Just a word of warning to anyone placing an order through woman within I wouldn't. You are better off in my experience to just pay full price through lane bryant or some other store and actually get the merchandise you pay for in a decent time frame. So far my one and only order through woman within has been a headache, poor customer service, poor internet updating, and all I have to show for it are two pairs of yes comfy but white granny panties for the bargain price of $120. :scared1: Now I get to go out and try and find summer cruise clothes when all of the stores in my area switched to fall and winter over a month ago. Yay.

I order all my clothes through WW and never have a problem. If I order something that is back ordered I usually just pick something else. They are great on returns and refunds. I order online and get confirmation and shipped info by email.

Anyone know if Design a Tee store in Downtown Disney has larger pooh sizes?
I am 1x or 2x depending on design. And do they have Tigger designs?

Wonderful thread-will be trying the lanacane gel and looking for the vera bradley bag for our trip.

:surfweb:

Sorry if this is a repeat - I scanned the thread, but I might have missed it.

Does anyone have experience flying with Air Tran and their seats?

I'm a 3x, so I'm a little concerned. I'll be on the aisle with my DD7 and DNiece24 (non-Poohsized) in the row with me.

How was your experience? Thanks!

Loving this thread, can not take the time to read the whole thing just now, but wanted to share.

I got New balance tennies for our 2007 trip, they were the best thing I had ever had on. Then we went in 2009 and unbeknownst to me I had a bone spur between two toes, ouch the blister and blood at the end of the day. I did everything including mole skin. Horrible pain, put up with that about 2 days, then I decided to try on the Mickey Crocs, and what a relief, no more pain. I just have to have comfy shoes, I have has two strokes (tia's) and a back injury that did some nerve damage in my right leg and foot, so comfy shoes is a must. I am about at size 2x and on my way down to smaller sizes. Have been pooh sized all my adult life, I have found wearing as much cotton as possible helps keep me coolest, cotton blouses and slacks (I refuse to wear shorts, ever).

Keep the good tips coming.

I haven't flown with them, but I did call them when I was trying to decide on my airfare, and then decided not to go with them because of pricing, not the policy or anything. If you want to know their policy, though, it's the same as everyone else - buy two seats. As for fitting in the seats, I honestly don't know. The only airlines I've flown in the last three years have been Alaska Air (company paid for, no second ticket) and Southwest (am buying a second ticket for this trip).

Sorry meant to get this on here a couple of nt's ago.

Wanted to let anybody know that if they want to ride The Sum Of All Thrills at Epcot there is a test seat hidden way back behind the ride in a dark corner......seats are very tight.

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or not, but we are going to WDW in a week and plan to do some shopping at the Premium outlet mall. Can anyone tell me which stores carry women's plus sizes? I am not very familiar with a lot of the stores in the USA. I don't want to waste my time looking through a store if they don't carry my size (20/22). Thanks!

I have the same doubt concerning Orlando Premium and Florida Mall also ...:thumbsup2

DisneyFirefly mentioned that you should buy an extra seat, but I have never had that experience. Both myself (size 26/28 womens) and my fiance (size 54/56 mens) are pooh sized, and we ONLY fly Airtran, because we don't have to buy the extra seat required by other airlines. (Stupid Southwest!)

You may want to bring along a seatbelt extender (or ask the flight attendant for one as you board) just in case. Otherwise, your seating should be with the 7yo in the middle. Raise the armrests, and you will be ok.

We have found that if you wear looser pants (i.e. cloth rather than denim), you will have a better experience, as you can adjust easier. With denim, you're body is pretty much staying where it is. Also try buckling the seatbelt before you sit (yes, it's hard, but it can be done), this way the strap is actually laying on your thighs rather than across your abdomen.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Thanks for the reassurance, ckpoodge!

Yes, DD7 is reserved for the center seat.

My husband called Air Tran for me and was told that there shouldn't be any problem at all unless someone complained. There shouldn't be any problem with that since I'll be in the row with my own family.

DH was generous enough to say we could upgrade to Business class at 24 hrs out if it's available at the low upgrade price if it would make me feel better for the way to MCO. (Won't have that option returning since we won't have a laptop.)

I actually did say that the policy was to buy two seats. That was what I was told when I called AirTran while shopping around. Every airline has that policy, even JetBlue.

You counted right - we'll be down there Oct. 7th - 17th (one week from today - HOORAY!!!) :cheer2: We've rented a house in Davenport, about 20 minutes away from the parks. When we started planning the trip we decided the hassle of driving to/from the parks each day was worth it for all the adults to have their own bedrooms to get away from the kids each night!

My younger sister, Aunt and myself are all pooh sized, and this board has been the BIGGEST help.

Having read many pages of this thread with peoples comments/questions about shoes to wear to WDW I thought it was time for me to chime in on my newest favorites :)
I have been a New Balance wearer for about 20 years but they just weren't doing it for me recently, I am a nurse working 12 hours a day and up until about 6 months ago they were great, I usually put a new pair into use every 3 months and always bought the same style or as close to the same as I could, they change the numbers every once in while but its always been the 601-621 series.
I decided to look around for something else and have to say that the AntiGravity series from Easy Spirit have been awesome. Supportive yet comfortable, its like walking on soft cushions in the forefoot and heel region but unlike some shoes that I had tried where they squished down and stayed down due to my size, these spring right back up!
On my second pair now, and pair #3 and #4 are ordered for upcoming months, no break- in period needed for me, I walked 25 miles around San Antonio last week in a brand new pair, not a blister in sight and no foot pain!

ON a similar note, I have found No Nonsense blister prevention socks to be a great product too. They have less cotton in them than some socks and stay dry all day. I will still bring body glide for my feet in December when I head to Disney but I don't think I will really need it if I am using these shoes and socks.
