The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

Awesome! I'll be there on the 25th. Let me know how you manage if you think of it. If we can't ride it won't be the end of the world though. There are SOOO many other things to do there. :)
Sorry to report that I have too much belly for the Gringotts lapbar to lock. After that, I didn't even attempt the test seat for Forbidden Journey. Oh well, maybe next year! :)

Hello hello!

I know this has probably been covered before, but I am looking for a new bag for my upcoming trip. Last year I used a Kipling messenger bag (shoulder bag thing that you can wear across the body), which was perfect (right size, colourful, not too expensive), but it's looking a bit grubby and I would like a new one. I am having trouble finding a bag that I like as much and was thinking about changing to a small backpack.

What are people's preference and does anyone have any recomendations? I want something cute and big enough for a phone, camera, sunglasses, glasses, purse/wallet and bits. If it's themed around Disney or Hello Kitty, all the better!

I'm in the UK, just for reference!

Hi we are going on the magic for our first cruise and was wondering about the aqua dunk. it sates may not accommodate all body types. any experiences? my 8 year old really wants me to go and I would be horrified walking down if i didn't fit:sick:

Here now and I can report that DH and I just rode the mine train. We rode TOGETHER but it was a very tight fit. We are both 300+ he is 360 and 6 ft tall

The Disney Vera Bradley small backpacks are popular, from what i've read on the boards. I personally have a VB backpack (non-Disney one though) and i use it all the time and i love it. It looks small, but it will carry a basic day stuff - sunglasses, phone, water bottle, etc- like you mentioned above. And it won't be too bulky looking.

At 6'0" and 350 lbs (size 28), I rode 7DMT just fine on Saturday. :) The lapbar was tight on my knees, yes, but nothing I couldn't deal with. And I could feel my hips overlapping the edge of the seat (where it curves up on either side) just a little bit, but once we got moving, I didn't even notice. I was seated next to an "average" size lady, and we weren't even squished together. It was a really good experience! :thumbsup2

Does anyone have any suggestion for inexpensive plus sized cargo or khaki pants in Canada? I have a longer inseam and would prefer something with a drawstring.

Getting nervous about flying. Hubby and I are both very pooh sized. Soooo nervous about Delta! 2/3 flights we are next to eachother (2seater side) and for one of them it's a 3 seater. We booked toward the back, one aisle, one window in hopes of someone not booking between us... but they did. :rolleyes2

Hi MrsLanduyt,

With the flights as heavily booked as they are nowadays, don't expect to have an empty seat near you. I'm sure they will be happy to switch with one of you. The best thing is to be next to each other so you can lift the arm rest between you. Also, ask for seatbelt extenders. The flight attendant will be glad to get you each one, but you may have to ask several times as they are quite busy. I bought my own extender online so I didn't have to ask. It was about $20 dollars..just be aware that SW uses different belts, but most others, including Delta, use the same ones.

Most of all, don't worry. You will be fine. Don't let this set the tone for your vacation, and make you worry needlessly. Have a great time. :cool1:

Where did you buy the extender? Do you have a problem going thru security?

I think we got them from Amazon.com. There are several for sale there now. Most are less than $20.00. Search 'airline seatbelt extenders'. There was never a problem going through security. Just put them in your carry-on bags. I'm sure they know what they are and have seem them many times.

We found that this worked out well, because we didn't have to keep asking for them on the plane and have other people look at us funny. Just take out of your bag and connect to the airline seatbelt. Don't forget to take them with you when you deplane!

anyone rode aquadunk? Cruise in 30 days and stressing over it….son really wants me to join him

Just back from a brief trip to Disney and a two day visit to US/IOA. I've posted my info on here before but I've recently gained weight and also have now ridden most of the new arrivals. For reference: I am 5'7" and weighed about 266 on this trip, carrying most of my weight in my belly.

I have ridden the 7DMT twice now and while I do feel squeezed I fit fine. No issues there.

At US/IOA, we were able to fit into Escape from Gringotts but it was close. We were asked to press down a little harder by ride workers, and while it was very uncomfortable at first, by the end of the ride we had settled in and it wasn't so bad. Same at Mummy even though those seats are not as tight.

For the first time ever, we were not able to fit into the modified seats at Forbidden Journey or Hulk. I was able to fit into the seat at Dragon Challenge without issue.

Do I need a seat belt extender? I'm flying on a Jetblue and on the website it says the length of the seat belt is 45 inches. When sitting down my waist measure 47.5 inches (45 when i suck in a bit).

The seatbelt actually goes across the belly, and that is my problem, because that is where a lot of my weight is. :sad2:

You may not want to keep it 'sucked in' for too long or you might not mind. You could try it without and if it's too uncomfortable you could ask for one. I just voted for comfort.

I have a baggallini messenger bagg that I love love love!!! It can carry quite a bit, but doesn't feel heavy and I love that I can just pull it around to the front when I need something out of it!! It's a pain to constantly take a bag on and off! It has a mesh pocket for a water bottle and on the other side a pocket for your phone!

Thank you. I feel stupid for not realizing the belt across the belly. Lol I've never flown before and haven't been in a vehicle that uses a seat belt for a lonnnnnggg time. I guess i'll just ask for one if i need one. :thumbsup2

It's so funny because I was just going to post about this. I'm hoping to find a hoodie while I'm down there. The Disney store online has some plus sized tees. I usually wear a 1-2x in Ts. Based on reviews and how slim the little girl shirts run- I order a 4x, expecting it to be very big and that way I can put it in the dryer and not worrying about it shrinking etc. Well it's a little loose but not by much! And I am no where near a 4x.
