I just finished what was probably the busiest week I've had in a while... 5 finals in 4 days. Whew!! So glad to have a three week break from textbooks and tutorials and labs and papers!

I've picked up quite a few extra shifts at work over the holidays which I'm actually really looking forward to. It's nice to be able to be there with the kids over the holidays, especially the ones who have their families far away and may not be able to make it for more than a few days. We have all sorts of fun things planned and a few surprises too!

Hope everyone's holiday season is going wonderfully!

Me, nothing much...DH went back to the neuro this past week...the headaches are finally gone...no need to see another dr..we also discovered his migraine triggers and he has been pain free now for over a month...now to work on the other issues..

In other news...not a lot to report really..LOL...

Hi guys!!! Happy to see you all again. I was reallly sad to see the thread die. But I was afraid I'd look kind of pathetic to keep bumping it up.

As you can see, I've booked our next vacations. I'm excited to be trying the Grand Floridian for the first time. We really love Yacht Club tho & I'm hoping we don't regret moving for the last few nights.

Dax, I'm so glad to hear your DH is finally headache free. Thanks for bringing the thread back to life!!

Faith, where is the next vacation? Did I see something about Hawaii on another thread? We considered Hawaii for our 30th anniversary. But from the east coast the flight is forever. I can just tolerate the 5- 6 hours to Las Vegas or LA. Guess that's why WDW is the perfect vacation for us, just 2&1/2 hrs away!

Joan, how are you? Any trips planned for you? I hope the terrible rains & mud slides didn't affect you or Faith. The weather all over the country this winter has been so bad. I've been worried about all my Dis friends.

Hi Janet! How is the school year going for your kids?


We are under construction at my job. Our unit is being redone & they had to shut down about half the unit. Our patients are all over the place. Unfortunately, management did not plan in advance. So everything is day to day. Of course, the staff is very upset & miserable. Makes it even harder to deal with when your coworkers are more interested in complaining than in solving the problems.

DD got a new puppy, a bulldog. He's very sweet & cute. But very energetic. Can't wait til he's a little older & trained a little bit!!

Hey – congrats on booking your trips – both places I’ve never stayed before. Well, actually, haven’t stayed at most of the resorts – just POP, ASMu and OKW. So, both your choices seem pretty good to me.

My kids are doing well – can’t believe that the school year is half over. My DD really like middle school and my DS is adjusting to college, being at home and working. Since the break, he’s been working about 32 hrs a week and says he is tired – poor baby. I said welcome to the real world. Of course, he has a girlfriend, so he’s never home, doesn’t get enough sleep, and he’s probably spending all his money on said girlfriend and himself. He’s taking her to see the Lion King, and a concert next month. I did rate a nice Christmas present though. BTW I DO like his girlfriend.

Sounds like a mess at your work -- planning is such a key element to the remodeling process. Hope it doesn’t take too long. You will have to post a puppy pic – bet he looks adorable!

Hi all.

Dax, so very glad to hear the great news on your husband. That has got to be some great relief.

Sandee, the Grand Floridian is very nice. We've only stayed in the main building, not the outbuildings. I love the hotel; I just wish it was an Epcot resort since that's where we spend the majority of our time.

And I want to see pics of the Bulldog. They are so cute.

Yes, I'm going to Hawaii. I've done 4 vacations there so this will be the 5th time, 3rd one to Maui. My husband is an AVID golfer and I drag him on all of these non-golf vacations so I throw him a bone every few years and we go to Hawaii so that he can golf (because golfing 3-4 times per week at our country club isn't satisfying enough I guess). We are going to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua and I plan to rent myself a private pool cabana and spend the week reading (and drinking frothy umbrella drinks) while he goes and does his thing.

We are also going to WDW in October, staying at the Beach Club. We are taking middle son, his wife and our 6 year old grandson.

Oh and youngest son is now dating his ex-fiancee. We really try to stay out of our kids' lives (he is 30 after all) but this has me a bit nervous. She's a nice young woman but I think they are so wrong for each other. They called off their engagement 13 months ago.

Janet, the Jets game was the only decent one on this weekend. I'm not a fan of any of the teams in the playoffs but I was hoping they'd win.

Hello gang! So nice to hear what everyone's up to!

We're having a bit of a break from the rain, and actually saw blue sky today. It's been so warm all week, more like spring than winter.

We just made plans to meet my husband's brother and wife for several days in/near Yellowstone in late June. They're our favorite traveling partners and we always have a lot of fun together.

It's been great having my youngest back home. My older daughter just let us know she's only staying on the San Juan Island farm through the end of this year's growing season, and will be moving back closer to home in the fall. Both our girls have steady boyfriends at this point, and we had fun at Christmas having them all around.

Good luck on work remodels, grand puppies, children's love lives, and Disney Trips!

Hi Evs! How's everyones week going? I start the weekend today! Work was frustrating, what else is new, right?

And it's snowing again. But I just watched GMA & Sam Champion was on the Disney Wonder. That helped!

I wish I had something exciting planned, but it's gonna be a clean the basement kind of weekend. At least it's supposed to stop raining for a week or so. There were landslides on the hwy to the beach, but they've been cleared so April is headed down this weekend. Hopefully we'll get down there soon, too. It feels like winter is over once we start getting back to the beach.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Well the Girl Scout Cookies sales have kicked off by us, so it means cookie booth most weekends. It was brutual last night, Samantha and I worked the last shift, temps in the low teens, we think most of the sales were pity sales! Its really great that our area sells right after the holidays (when everyone resolves to start dieting) and winter really hits

Faith: Your Hawaii plans sounds like heaven right about now Want a tagalong?

Joan: Yellowstone sounds awesome - same day we will make our way out there.

Hi Sandee, Dax and everyone else. Enjoy the games tomorrow. I torn between the Jets and Steelers, coming from NY but living in PA. Well I usually root for the underdog -so go JETS !!

Hi!! That's me: I can't let things go. I hold on to them & I'm big on recycling!

How is your DH? Any more problems with the headaches? Glad you got health insurance. We have been lucky & always had it. But DH & I both hate to go to the doctor. Problem is, the longer you go between visits, the more they want to do to you when you finally get there! Good Luck!!

Have fun today. It must be great to just go for the day. We have seen the Flower Festival twice & I loved it. My DH only gets 3 weeks of vacation. He spends 1 week doing home improvements / projects. One week he takes before Christmas for shopping/ decorating. So we only get 1 week to travel. Can't wait for retirement. We can take short trips whenever we want then. Only 11 short years away!!

Hi guys. I love seeing ourselves resurrected like this.

Have fun at WDW Dax. I love the Flower & Garden festival; we've been 4 times. It's my favorite time to go to WDW but the busiest time of year at work so it takes a miracle to get there.

We are going in October, taking our family. I have such a hard time planning vacations where children are involved after so many years of it being adults only. Our grandson will be 6 and it will be his second trip. Then my son's ex-fiancee/current girlfriend has a 9 year old daughter who has never been anywhere.

Sandee, still planning on staying Grand Floridian in September? I changed ours to do a split stay once I knew I had two young kids along. We are staying in a Grand Villa at AKL for the first half and then the Beach Club for the second half. I think the Beach Club will be pretty disappointing to the kids after staying in that grand villa, lol.

The weather is turning nice here at home which means that my allergies are killing me. So I'm trying to stay indoors. I've been on a scrapbooking marathon for about 4 weeks now and have done about 110 scrapbook pages. These are old pictures, I'm just trying to get current. It's depressing how young I looked. It's also depressing at how bad the photography was before digital cameras.
