The Everything and Nothing Thread

I really dislike rude opinionated people. Opinionated is fine... just not rude and opinionated. LOL!

Good luck with the packing, Autumn, and have a great time! How many bags of chips are you packing? ;)

I only have two! But I also bought a basket of peaches, a watermelon, a pineapple, bagels, bacon, eggs, s'mores supplies, bacon, pizza crust, cheese and sauce and a veggie tray.

Bamajenn, how about rude people without opinions?

Hi Diva! Did you order anything from J Crew?

bamajenn - did you get something to eat? Something yummy, I hope.

Okay, Autumn, now I'm really hungry, too!

No...didn't order anything....I thought about it, but I like buying in stores better...I like to try on before I buy.

Well, when I posted that I had already eaten lunch... and since I'm doing so well with my weight loss... a snack from the vending machine was something I convinced myself to avoid. SO I will be leaving work in about 20 minutes, heading home and having a lovely meal of tilapia instead! :goodvibes

You guys are so fun on here. We got Ashton Kucher, men in women's underwear, shopping and s'mores all on one page.

BamaJenn, good for you on the weight loss. I keep losing the same ten pounds over and over again so I can't quite pat myself on the back. I'll cheer you on instead.

OK, so there are people speaking German right outside my office. I've got to go investigate. I don't speak German so they might be talking about me.

:rotfl:

This reminds me of one of my favourite jokes from when I was little.

Okay, girls. What is the German word for bra?

.....

.....

....

(this is better when spoken, but I'll try to type it)

"Ichvillschtopzemfromfloppen."

OMG, I'm laughing out loud. I'm so tempted to go out and say this to them.

Okay who was the genius that posted Dillard's was having an extra % off of their clearance items???? I have to go back and look.

I just got home from buying a Coach purse for $100. I don't know if I should throttle you or kiss you.

:)

it wouldn't have been so bad.........
If I hadn't of bought that Guess purse and that Lucky brand purse too..........

I did the right thing and promptly hid them.

Going now to catch up with you guys!

Not me!:lmao: I posted about a sale at J. Crew but nothing about Dillards.

You know, if the guilt gets overwhelming... you could always send one up here to me....:rolleyes1 I would be happy to watch it for you until the feeling subsides!

Seriously? I have soooooooo many pages to go thru!

The only thing I'm gonna say to all of that is if Ashton Kutcher shows up at my door with a rude opinionated camera crew wearing Demi's underwear speaking german about keepzemfromfloppin while drinking coffee from a Superwoman cup, I'm hiding.

:lmao:

Autumn--- hope your time at the cottage is fun and you take soemthing more than chips to eat. :)
And my DD was the one who made me buy them all-- she was egging me on mightily. She may be the recipient of the Guess purse.:)

Jane- hope you get good news on your DS.

Everyone else-- I have to run -- DH and I are going out tonight!
Have a good night ladies!!

Okay, girls... I'm off! I won't be back till Tuesday morning so behave yourselves!:goodvibes Hope you all have wonderful weekends that are full of good food, family, friends and beautiful weather. Lots of love!:lovestruc

Guilty as charged, your honor. :guilty:

I just got back from Dillard's myself. However, after trying on a boatload of clothes for myself and saying yuck to everything, I went to the men's store and bought 3 polo style shirts for my DH. Men are so easy to find clothes for. :sad2:

I didn't even go to the first floor of the ladies' store where all the purses/shoes/jewelry/accessories are. I would have had more luck finding something there!

Have a nice evening out with your hubby! :lovestruc

Congrats on the weight loss. If you get hungry again, head up to Autumn's friend's cottage. She's got lots of good food up there. ;)

Don't hide, take a picture! Better yet, a video. It would be a you tube hit for sure. :surfweb:

Working all weekend. Try not to have too many pages for me to catch up on Monday. Hope you all have a great week end! :)

What a bunch of sleepy heads!

Good morning all! I hope everyone has a nice weekend in store. :goodvibes

Hey Shelly! How was the party? Are you sleeping in and recovering? Please tell us all about it, including pictures! ::yes::

Dizno, congrats on the upcoming cruise! :thumbsup2 Sister trips are so much fun! My DSis and I took a trip together last year. It was the first time I had been on a long (week) trip without DH or kids. I have to say, it was so relaxing and fun being off-duty as a mom and wife for a little while! :guilty:

Thanks, everyone, for the concern about my DS. We still haven't heard the test results. I really think his problem was stress, even though on the surface he has nothing to be stressed about. I think being near the end of school and not having a clear plan for the future is weighing heavily on him. He says the last few days he has felt much better.

Maybe we should rename our thread "True Confessions" with all the family secrets being revealed! :rotfl: Who remembers all those magazines with titles like that? (I know some of you don't ;))

Hello weekenders!

I can't believe it's the last day of July already. We weren't invited to Chelsea Clinton's wedding, so I guess we'll be sticking close to home. Gordon is off kayaking, so it's pretty quiet around here, as usual. My oldest has been working on a farm in the San Juan Islands of Washington State since mid June and my youngest works at a Y Camp about an hour away. We're looking forward to seeing both of them sometime in the next few weeks.

H Jane! Glad to hear your son is at least feeling better. Where did you and your sister go on your trip? Our first sisters trip was to WDW when the oldest turned 50, and then we went to Maui when I hit 5-0. Both times it was like one long slumber party!

My true confession for today: Went to Costco night before last where I bought Devil's Food Cake mix, Triple Chocolate Brownie mix, a 10 lb bag of chocolate chips, chocolate covered almonds and new underwear to fit around the larger size waist I'm bound to have by next week (an asst in pink, so no mix-ups with my husband).

Keep cool and have fun!
Joan

Hi Dizno :wave2: Well, it looks like just you and me holding down the fort today!

Kayaking sounds like fun to me! Alot safer than skydiving, that's for sure. Where do you kayak near your home? I'm going to have to look up the San Juan Islands on mapquest. I've never heard of them before. Our thread is not only entertaining, it's informative, too. ;) What type of farm does your son work on? I'll bet you are missing your kids!

Thanks, my son is feeling better. Part of it may be knowing that it is most likely not his heart. Part of his anxiety could have been worrying about his heart, which made it even worse.

My sister and I went to Missouri, to Big Cedar resort near Branson. In years past, our kids went to a summer camp near there, and we fell in love with the area. We would stay at Big Cedar when we went to bring them to camp, and then when we went to pick them up. But it was never just a long, relaxing stay where we got to really enjoy the resort. We were always on the go in a limited time. This time we just enjoyed the beauty of the resort, Table Rock Lake (we canoed, that was a sight, us getting in ) went on a horseback trail ride (very tame), swam, floated in the lazy river, went to Silver Dollar City, ATE ALOT  Just so relaxing! My DH and I went to Vegas for my 50th. That was so much fun! I took my DD there last year, and I could go back again!
I have a habit of wanting to go back to the same places over and over. ;) I guess I'm on the right board for people like me. Hawaii would be a dream vacation if it weren't for flying there. :scared1:

Holy chocolate overload!! Did you make one big dessert with those ingredients or is it for several things? My true confession is that I took a white cake mix, poured a little of the dry mix into a bowl, added a little water to make batter consistency, stirred with a fork and ate it like raw cake batter. I love uncooked cake batter and cookie dough. :guilty: I just don't eat it with raw eggs mixed in. I do the cake mix thing whenever there isn't anything else sweet in the pantry. I had it night before last, and I just might have to have some more today. ;) And I just wear my DH's pj pants after going on a cake mix bender (gotta 'em on now!). Makes me feel very skinny!

Dizno, I was very hurt not to receive an invitation to Chelsea's wedding either. :sad1: But that's OK, I'll just keep that crock pot I had bought her for myself! Did you hear that the wedding cost $3 million? Even if you have that kind of money, it's absurd.

Where is everyone today? Probably out having fun........
