The Everything and Nothing Thread

Morning all. No plans for the weekend. My husband is going out of town for a golf tournament so I'm home alone with my 2 little nekkid dogs. Kids are grown and I love getting a few weekends here and there all to myself. My grandson has his last t-ball game this Saturday and I might go to that if it's under 100 degrees here.

In China I went to Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, He Ze and Tibet. I went for business but threw in a lot of sightseeing. Very interesting place; I ate many things I didn't recognize and some things I wish I hadn't recognized :scared1:. Going to a Tibetan monastary and watching the monks chant with the villagers praying was definitely the highlight.

No TV for me last night so I missed the mummies. Hopefully they will run it again before I head to Egypt.

Okay ------------ who's watching Big Brother other than me and Shelly??????????????????:)
Doesn't that Hayden guy look like that guy from Grease- Jeff Conway???:lmao:

 Kind of!! No matter who he looks like I don't really care for him. He's letting that other guy tell him what to do. Get a backbone!

Actually BB is kind of boring me this season. :confused3 Hope it gets better!

This is my first season of not watching and it's so hard. I made a resolution to give up 50% of the reality TV shows that I watched and this one didn't make the cut to keep.

just wanted to say good morning and join the thread. My life seems to be filled with nothings.

I like the pairs of sneakers hanging from utility lines. I know when I'm done with mine, I always think of throwing them on a phone line. :confused3

Here's what I have been pondering lately: I keep seeing these purple box like things hanging in trees. They are always purple, look like cardboard, 3 sided & about 18-24 inches long. I've noticed string hanging from them sometimes. The first time I saw one, I thought some kid lost their kite. But I keep seeing them in all different areas. My sis lives an hour away from me, out in the woods. Saw one on the way to her house a few weeks ago. DH & I went on a day trip & I saw one in a tree about 100 miles from home. Noticed some holes in the sides of that one. Don't know if the others have holes; I'm usually driving when I see them so of course don't get a good look.

Anyone know what these are? I'm starting to get a little paranoid about them. Are we being invaded? Little purple invaders? :scared1: :rotfl2:

Around here, the shoes on the utility lines mean that a drug dealer lives in the neighborhood. :scared1:

Good afternoon....:)

I had to work this morning (I teach preschool during the school year, and we take turns working at the preschool summer program during the summer. Today was one of my days) from 7-12:15. It was the first time I left DS11 home for that long. I tried calling him when I left work to let him know I was on my way home...HE DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE!! I tried three times! I got the answering machine. I'm yelling "Hello??? Helloo???? PICK UP THE PHONE!"

Finally, on the fourth call, he picks up. "Sorry mom, the volume was down low on the answering machine." Um, did you consider maybe turning the volume up? Or maybe answering the phone after it rang three times in a freaking row?? It took me a few minutes to breath again!

He was OK...did everything on his list...good kid! I just worry too much!

Pakey - I know what you mean about the reality shows! I gave up American Idol years ago. Never watched Survivor. But I just can't stop watching Big Brother, Bachelor/Bachelorette and The Amazing Race!

Welcome Kymmyk!

Marcy - :scared1: I would have freaked too!! Glad everything was okay.

Wow I have to say that I am very surprised that CERTAIN people (that shall remain nameless but you know who you are) have not talked about food once in the first 8 pages of this new thread! :lmao:

Can't wait to talk about everything and nothing!

I cleaned up projectile vomit from a 5 month old this morning- would that be considered an everything or nothing event.

Hello Sweet Nothings (and Everythings)! Hope everyone's day is rolling along nicely at the mall, pool, and bathtub, in spite of lack of sleep and sons who don't answer the phone (Yikes, by the way)! It's gorgeous here, currently 71 on the way to a high of 85.

JoBird - I burned out on Big Brother when Evil Dick was on. He was just too gross for me to watch. I have watched a couple episodes this season, and I think Hayden has the exact same haircut Jeff Conaway had when he was on Taxi!

paintnolish - You're making me hungry! I love how you chose your user name. My niece mixes up syllables all the time, too. One of her best was arspaper noodicle for newspaper article!

laracroft - Happy Fhursday! I hope you enjoy your weekend, too! (I loved your sweet nothings reference and just had to use it myself!)

Hello to everyone else, as well! I'm loving getting to know you all better!

Joan

Marcy - :scared1: I would have freaked too!! Glad everything was okay.

Hooked on the Bachelorette/Bachelor too. Every season, I say I won't do it, but every season, I get sucked in.

I'm not a big fan of Ali...but I love Chris, and if she picks him and breaks his heart, I'm going to be sooooo mad!!:laughing:

Diz maybe we could be the Sweet Nothings, like in Grease The Pink Ladies. LOLOLOL

Monny - sorry about the vomit, and projectile at that. Hope baby is feeling better.

Marcy - the phone deal would scare me too. I would have been worried then mad then upset that I'd gotten upset! Glad everything is A OK.

I haven't spoke to you Jo, so hello!!!:yay:

And good afternoon to everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Nothings - Love it! :thumbsup2

Monny - I am surprised food hasn't been brought up yet either. :rotfl: Guess is won't be today after your post! :scared:  That's definitely something!! Hope the poor baby feels better soon.

Marcy - I am not a fan of Ali either. I said I wasn't going to watch it this time because of her, but then there was nothing else on Monday nights, and now I'm hooked. I love Chris too! I hope she picks him, but from what I can tell she likes Roberto and Frank better. :sad2:

Tweezing leg hairs!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::rotfl:

Hello to everyone else. Hope you're having a good afternoon.

First, let me say, I am so jealous! It was my first trip and I LOVED it! The heat wasn't too bad...we've been to WDW in the summer! I walked all over the French Quarter all day, just doing whatever I wanted to! I ate. A LOT! Too much good food: Johnny's, Deanie's, Acme, Pat O'Briens, Court of the Two Sisters, Cafe Du monde, Eat, Stanley, La Divina, Kupcake Factory (not really a restaurant, LOL), etc!

Glad you enjoyed NOLA, but there's no need to be jealous! You can have it! :rotfl: Seriously, I'm not a big fan, so we don't go there very often. I should say we never used to go there often - my DD lives there now, so I guess I'll have no choice! I guess it's fun to go for a visit, and there are some great restaurants and beautiful old homes to see, but I would rather go to Port Orleans French Quarter! I know I'll never work for the Tourist commission. ;)

That's quite a list of restaurants that you tried! I think the only one I've been to on the list is Deanie's. We tried a really good place a couple of months ago called Clancy's in Uptown. We went there on friends' recommendations after our DD's graduation. It was delicious!

Oh, and of course, we've been to Cafe du Monde for beignets.....mmmmmm!

You should come back during Mardi Gras for a real experience! I have to admit that can be fun!

How grossed out will you be if I admit to yes?

Not grossed all, just impressed with your pain tolerance and patience!:thumbsup2

I watch the Bachelorette as well and am also a Chris fan. He just seems so sweet and genuine... I couldn't handle Frank and all of his drama.:headache: And Chris really looks like he is a good guy and a family man. Roberto is okay, he just seems to blend in for me and is never really a stand out.

Ohhhh Cafe du Monde beignets. :faint: I could go for a huge plate of those right about now.

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

Jane - What were you doing up so late last night??? :scared1: Yes, I think you should go with "lake house" instead of camp! ::yes::

Dizno - your beach house sounds wonderful. :cloud9:

Dax - I didn't sleep too well last night either. :confused3 I hope it's not a sign of things to come. I seem to get in a pattern of not sleeping well and it will go on for weeks. :scared:

Lara - Thanks! :goodvibes I'm glad you enjoyed my CBR review and then had a great time there.

Hi Lauren! Have fun shopping!

Add me to the list of non-sleepers! But I have always been a night-owl.

Too late for the "lake house". Camp it is. Even though that makes it sound like it's a tent out in the woods somewhere.
