Ok...it was there and then it disappeared!!

I think I figured it out!

Wednesday picture:

This is our 3 sons on Pirate Night on the Disney Cruise last year. They decided to get creative with the bandanas that were handed out. I think it was at this very moment when my husband decided that this would be the last family vacation; they behave better when we take them one at a time rather than all together.

Hey guys, I just got this email from my DSIL, one of those forwarded things that I usually delete ;), but this one I thought I should pass on. It's pathetic what people will do to steal from or harm you. :sad2: I don't even know if this really happened, but I guess it could.

While driving on a rural end of the roadway on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Canton PD and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out
there to check....

"There are several things to be aware of ... gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women) to stop their vehicle and get out of the car.

"There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police Department where gangs are placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in it...waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby.

"Note that the location of this car seat is usually beside a wooded or grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it’s a man, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too.

DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!!

DIAL 9-1-1 AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON'T EVEN SLOW DOWN.

"IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSHIELD, DO NOT STOP TO CHECK THE CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPER
AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY AND BLOCK YOUR VISION UP TO 92.5%, AND YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE CRIMINALS.

THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS, SO PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.

THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND THESE ARE UNSAVORY INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT."

Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic used.

Get started NOW –

SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES TO BE CAREFUL AND AWARE OF EVERYTHING AROUND THEM SO AS NOT TO BECOME A VICTIM.

Of course, something like this would probably only happen in New Orleans or Fresno, but you can never be too careful. ;)

Hi Everythings!
I'm playing catch up after three days away, but thought I'd drop by with some pictures of the day. We had so much fun visiting our daughter Cam, and found her very happily settled in on the farm with a great group of people.

This is the ferry dock in Anacordes, WA where we boarded for San Juan Island.

I'm off to catch up on the thread, and laundry, and sleep...

:rotfl2:

First let me say that your little doggie has a very appropriate name! Paris Hairless Hilton definitely leads the life of an heiress. princess: If other dogs read this, you are going to have them lined up outside your door to live with you!

Maybe you should do what my aunt did for her dog. She had this old dog who had been a stray and I've never seen such a loved dog. She would buy those roasted chickens like thy sell at Sam's, only she bought hers at a little store near her house where they cost twice as much. She always had 2 - one for now and one on hand for later - God forbid they should run out of roasted chicken! That's all she fed her dog. I don't think I ever saw her actually cooking for her doggie, though. ;)

Well, to look at the bright side, at least you didn't burn down your house! It's scary to think how easy it is to do things like that. I fell asleep one time with eggs boiling, and I don't know what woke me up, but it could have been a disaster. The bad thing was that it was when we were trying to sell our house, and I spent beaucoup money on products to get the burn smell out of my house. :sad2: It could have caused us to not be able to sell it, but at least I didn't burn it down! Sometimes when I'm walking at the mall, I'll pass by Bath & Body works and they'll have this room freshener smell that brings back those memories. I can still smell that sickly perfumy smell. Ugh.

So does your husband do a lot of cooking for the 2 of you, or is it mostly General Mills and Kellogg's? It is hard to cook for 2, and sometimes costs more than some take-out. My DH and I can share a footlong Subway, and that's just $5.00. You can hardly cook for that little. I did cook a big pot of spaghetti last night, which he will probably be sick of before it's over.

I think you can keep your Wonder Woman underwear. ;) Your talents just might not be in the kitchen, but so what if you're not Martha Stewart?

We cannot buy the roasted poultry at the store(s) because they all have seasonings, mostly salt, in them. So unfortunately, that means home cooking. When we go to Europe for 2 weeks at a time, we get a real assembly line going, cooking and bagging for freezing so the pet sitter has a supply. Paris Hairless has to watch her girlish figure and has a slower metabolism than Andy so the portions have to be measured. :rotfl:

My husband does the cooking. He dislikes any kind of fast food (I love it) so he cooks most nights. He doesn't like cereal and he would never eat any of those frozen entrees like Stouffers. So he usually cooks something that he likes and I'm not picky. Dinners are usually pretty light. A typical dinner for us will be a stuffed tomato or a plate of cheese and fruit or a grilled chicken with some asparagus. He makes a lot of soups in the winter.

I used to cook some of the time early in our marriage but once my career took off and I started the 80+ hour work weeks, I didn't have time. Now I can barely remember that I used to cook.

I love the pictures everyone. I must admit, I would really like to go to Hershey World now. All of that chocolate-y goodness.

Ok my friends...I am headache free today...finally home from work, everything has settled a tad, so I bring you my picture Wed...We gonna give you a taste of some of the "other" Orlando area attractions that get overlooked...

This is Cpt Hook, he is 4yrs old. You can visit him at Boggy Creek Airboat rides...which is a TON of fun...

This is Bok Tower..in Lake Alfred. The place is amazing, and the tower "sings" I recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a quiet place.

The final pics, are from Harry P Leu Gardens in downtown Orlando. Mind you things look dark and grey because we went Jan 31, 2010...this was after a few MIGHTY cold days, with more to follow. We are planning a fall/spring trip soon

I hope you enjoyed your trip around Central Fl...next week, I got a special surprise for you all!!

Dax, glad you felt good enough to post some pics. I've always wanted to do one of those airboat rides.

You obviously have a much better camera than I do.

That makes sense about the seasonings in the store-bought chickens. My aunt's dog was already so old, overweight, and blind, too. So I guess she just figured she would let him live out the rest of his life with some spice! :) I sure do admire any pet owner who goes to all that trouble for their pets! Yours are lucky dogs, literally! :thumbsup2

It may be harder to cook for 2 people, but boy is it easier feeding just us! We are both easy to please when it comes to food. I could eat a bowl of cereal, or fruit and cheese, any day of the week. Luckily, my DH is easy to please, too. Sometimes, he'll just say he will find something in the pantry. That, or a sandwich or salad and he's happy! That wasn't the case when my kids, especially my DS, were at home.

80 hour work weeks? Makes me tired just reading it. Yes, you can definitely keep those Wonder Woman undies!

Great pictures, everybody! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing them.

Shelly - Love the Hershey's pics! Except that it made me go digging in my pantry in search of chocolate.

Pakey - It looks like your boys were having a good time on the cruise! I'm just trying to figure out where they got their sense of humor from! ;)

Dizno - I'm so glad you had a great time visiting your daughter! It sure looks like a beautiful place.

Dax - Yay for no headaches today! :cheer2: Thanks for the tour of central Florida. The gator picture looked like it could have been in Louisiana! And the Bok tower looks like such a pretty place.

Afternoon peeps!

Ready for football for sure! Woo hOOOOOOOO!

Loved all the pictures everyone!

Hope all is well.

We start school tomorrow over here. Sad and yet happy too.

have a good night!

Oh no. Husband just called and told me he didn't have time to cut up that chicken before leaving for his Wednesday golf league.

I hope I'm more successful with the knife than I was with the oven. If you don't hear my true confession tomorrow, you know that the knife thing didn't work out so well for me...

Hi y'all!:goodvibes

I LOVE picture day. It's so much fun! I love getting to see little bits and pieces of everyone's lives.:thumbsup2

The kids' magic show today was great. They were all so proud of themselves and did a great job. I wish I could post some pictures of the smiles on their faces when they were done!!

I'm currently in "stress about the future" mode and looking at grad school and trying to decide if I want to jump in with both feet and go for a PhD in Psychology or whether I would rather work for a while first or maybe just do a post-grad in nursing or social work or something... but then I keep thinking about money and how much student debt I want to carry... EEK. I know it's one of those things that will work itself out bit by bit but I just feel like I'm never going to be able to make a firm decision and decide what I want to do with my life!

Off to go do some more research!

I loved everybodies pictures yesterday, but they made me want to eat chocolate on a cruise! Thanks for sharing!

My true confession for today:
I took my "daily" walk for the first time since June today.

Hang in there. Just remember that it's so much harder to go back later. You have to factor that in somehow. I went straight into grad school; not sure I would have ever gone back later if I'd went out into the work force.

No matter what, you'll make the right decision for you.

My true confession isn't as funny as Joan's.

I sleep with 5 pillows. They are arranged in a rainbow shape around/under me. Add a husband and 2 dogs and the queen sized bed is a pretty crowded place.

One open house for school down, one to go!

Today is my Friday but I do't get to rest this weekend, always so much to so and so little time.

I sleep with a pillow between my legs! No rainbow of pillows.

Thanks, Pakey. It's reassuring to hear that! Just out of curiousity, what did you go to school for?

Oh boy, I could never sleep with 5 pillows! Most nights I don't sleep with any at all!

Lara: what plans do you have for the weekend? Hoping you can fit a bit of down time in there!:goodvibes
