The Everything and Nothing Thread

Hey guys i finally figured out how to find your posts....

I hope I am welcome here

Good Evening Everyone!:goodvibes
So, guess what??? Our plans changed again...sorry to be super confusing!
Flights to Europe are crazy over Christmas break (as to be expected), but flights to Disney surprisingly are not that bad. We have decided to not cancel our Disney trip in January. I talked to my travel agent today and she said that Europe was much more pleasant to visit in the spring/summer. We are thinking of going in May for about a month when DD begins summer break from college. As some of you may remember DD19 had a trip planned next summer with a group of college kids. She decided she would rather go with us (surprisingly!), so we will go as a family in May.
So, Europe is not officially booked for summer (but we are getting close), however Disney is officially booked for winter and we are not backing out of that!
Again, sorry to be so confusing! Just thought I would give you all the update.

Wow! I've been busy all day & now I've got lots of catching up to do with you all. :)

Mom of 2: my guess is $95.00

Janet: I'm from Buffalo. Yes, I love Wegman's, except that lately they are more & more going to their own brands. Not as much brand name variety as there used to be.

AutumnPalm: Happy birthday to your mom! But I could be your mother apparently, since I'm older than her! :rotfl:

I don't know whether to cry or take a hammer to my computer, but I just spent the better part of an hour catching up and posting a long*** reply, and now it's disappeared! :headache: When I clicked "Preview Post" to check for typos, I got some message that said something like "Your post cannot be processed since you have logged in since the previous post. Click the back button and reload the window." (Or something like that) I have no idea what that even means. :confused3 But I could never get back to my post. The only thing I can think of is that I opened a 2nd window in order to click back and forth between my post and what everyone had posted. All I can tell you is that I replied to each and every one of you! There's no way I can recall everything I said, but in a nutshell, here goes:

lara - I'm sorry you are going through a tough time. Maybe you can take your kids on a weekend getaway closer to home and do it up big next year!

lala - Between the time I typed my first reply and lost it, I saw that you had changed plans again. ;) What a sweet daughter you have for choosing to go with the family!

Pakey - You have had a rough time lately! I hope you let other people do any physical work that had to be done, since you are still recovering from surgery!

Shelly - My guess is $162 (before tax ;)) I should have asked my DH, since he is the lucky one.

Janet - Washers and beer - that goes without saying! I wish I had taken pictures of the guys playing to see if they all had a beer in their hand. Maybe they need it to balance the weight of the washer in the other hand. :lmao:

Dizno - I was supposed to watch Mad Men and completely forgot. Maybe it wasn't the best night to start watching it, though!

Jo - Doesn't it feel like you've missed a week of school when you tune it late here? And to think I lost my whole post after finally replying to everyone. :sad2:

kymmyk - I don't know how you managed to clean your carport in the hot Alabama summer heat. I've been needing to clean my garage for so long, and I keep waiting for it to get cooler. I'm looking at mid-October.

autumn - Happy Birthday to your mom! I hope your dinner was fun. My go-to dish is eggplant parmigiana. Eggplant sounds healthy, and I figure I could do alot worse at an Italian restaurant! I've been wondering what happened with the Craigslist apt. Did it work out?

mari - Welcome! I "know" you from the MAYer thread through Shelly and Jo. You have such a precious daughter!

focus - Yeah, I almost choked when I saw how old autumn's mom was, too.

OK, if I lose this post, too, it has been nice talking with all of you these past couple of weeks. :rotfl2:

Here goes......

Oh, poor Jane! I HATE when that happens.

I got an email back from the poster that was pretty sketchy... asking me to email his wife to get photos of the place and then if I liked it, to send him my address to have him mail me a key. It just gave me a weird feeling so I told him I had decided to go with something else. Maybe it was legitimate but I decided to not take the chance!

I know, my mom's pretty young. My dad is in his mid sixties and she is in her early fifties. My mom is constantly reminding my brother and I that she wants to be a grandmother before she is out of her fifties. She says she doesn't want to be my dad's age when she had grandchildren which I'm sure he really appreciates.:rotfl:

That craigslist thing does sound sketchy to me, too. Maybe it was legit, but with all the scams, you have to be careful. That was alot of "you email me this, I'll mail you that" going on. So have you found something else already?

I have some friends who are grandmothers, some younger than me, and it seems so crazy! I know I'm old enough to be a grandmother, but just the sound of it freaks me out! Neither my DD or DS even have a steady boy/girlfriend, so it won't happen for a while. I do know that when I do have a granchild, I will NOT be Maw-Maw or Grandma or anything old sounding.

That is too funny about your mom hinting for granchildren and not wanting to be your dad's age when she has them! :lmao: Oh, yeah, I bet he just loves that!

Hey, Jo, I hope we're not putting you to sleep tonight! Or maybe we are, and you can thank us since you're not sleeping well lately. ;)

Yeah, I've decided to just stay where I am now and then move out of the city once I'm done with school. Saves a lot of work, at least!

My mom refuses to be called Grandma. She says she wants her grandkids to call her "Mum" like I call her. How old are your kids?

A lot of my friends are now in the getting married/having babies stage and it seems like it has just come up so fast! I feel like I get an invitation to some sort of shower every week. DBF and I are planning on finishing school before we get married but I have to say.... all the shopping for baby showers is giving me the baby itch! I know it won't be for another few years but I swear, just holding a baby makes my uterus hurt!:rotfl:

It's almost 1 in the morning here and I've got work bright and early... see all you ladies in the morning, always nice to chat with you!:goodvibes

Good morning everyone. Another boiling and steamy day here in Florida. I am not a summer person or a warm weather person. I should live in Seattle. I love clouds and rain. Anyways, at least it's not Monday right? I so feel like I could go back to bed and sleep for a few days. I have a girls slumber party this weekend and I am helping a friend move. Throw in cleaning and laundry into that mix and thats my weekend. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Jane - I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me. I have typed and typed just to send and get an error message and then can't go back. Makes me want to just beat the computer and then cry. Glad you got it working the second time.

Autumn - Don't let that baby bug bite you. Enjoy everyone around you having them and give them back when they poop. LOL Sounds like you have a really good plan and goals set. Your life will be complete when you finally do have one. Glad your mom had a nice birthday. She is really young!

Morning all..

Looks like the ugly migraine has come back...not sure what my trigger is for this one, I am thinking stress. To make it worse, DH said he thinks I have sleep apnea..I fell asleep on the couch last night and freaked him out..so he woke me up...it would explain a lot..

To make that all worse, I dont have any medical benefits, so there is nothing I can do to get it checked..UGH..

Hope everyone is having a better day than me...

So sorry to hear about your bad day Dax... and the morning has only just begun! Chin up!

I love these kinds of threads and since I'm sort of making a transition over to The DIS (thanks to my very active mother) I figured I'd come here to get to know everyone. So... Hi!!

morning Sweets!

Okay all of this baby talk makes me laugh.

JUST this morning DH and I were talking about if I happened to get pregnant again. (Most likely wouldn't happen- my tubes are tied). Autumn-- my uterus hurts just THINKING of it.

Dh said "All the formula and bottles and car seats and cribs---" I broke out into a cold sweat just thinking about it.:goodvibes When my oldest is 25--- I'll be 48. I sorta hope I'm not a Gma that young- but maybe by the time I'm 50 I'll be ready for her to have one.

My mom said she didn't want to be called Crammy or Grandmother or Grandma either- so she taught the children to call her "Maggie". Her name is not Margaret or Maggie. :confused3 She just liked that name. So when my oldest comes along and tries to say Maggie- it comes out Waggie. Then got shortened to Wags. So now my Mom answers to any of the above.:lmao:

Jane------ I didn't sleep too well last night-- nothing was putting me to sleep!:rotfl: I did read that you had lost everything you had typed- I'm so sorry. I so hate it when that happens! It's happened to me when I've done the long Behind trip reports with pics and everything. Makes you want to hurl your computer out the window.

Lara---- oh to be in Florida right now.......... be happy where you are- a ray of sunshine right where you stand. Hope you are doing better today. Seattle, to me, sounds like a nightmare. I hate rain after a few days! It's so gloomy all the time.:guilty:

Okay so today, well as of right now, I am lying in bed, listening to music from Animal Kingdom and drinking coffee. Hope everyone gets up and at em soon. I wanna chat.:surfweb:

Shelly--- why oh why am I disqualified???????? I want to play tooooooooo. So what's the prize? I hope it's chocolate for the Sweets.:rotfl2:

Oh no Dax, I am so sorry you are not feeling good. I have migraines as well. I am on a medicine called Fiorecet. I wish you could get some meds to help. I can't take off work when I have a headache (even though I have 6 weeks of leave) they are funny about letting you take off. I sure hope you feel better. Get some rest in a dark quiet room if possible and maybe a cold pack on your eyes. That helps me sometimes.:grouphug:

Good morning Jo! I am so happy it's not Monday, I am gonna try and let that be my guide! I was thinking about making some treats for the kids (Disey inspired) to kinda help with their sadness about not going. I was so excited this weekend and have to share. I went to the World Market in the mall and found Kona Coffee! I also bought a pressed pot. I was dancing and singing thank goodness my kids understand my love for Kona and didn't get embarassed! Thanks for the hugs Jo, I would gladly give you my Florida humidity with the lovebugs and fireants. I have got to get out of here someday. I hope you have a great day!

Mom of 2, I am going out on a limb here and gonna say $125!

Dax, that is awful---- I hope you get better soon. Those migraines are close together- stress, must be. Take excedrin with a coke quick and stay off the computer as much as possible.

Okay Kona coffee and a press pot deserves a banana dance.   That is an awesome find! Wish we had a World Market here.:sad2:

And I'd love love love to get to Florida to be close to our beloved Gators!
You're not a Seminole are ya?:rotfl:

Good morning!

Dax, I'm sorry about your medical issues and the no insurance part. That has got to be scary.

Autumnpalm, I too am older than your mother by one year. :sad2: My one and only grandchild turned 5 this summer and he calls me Fay Fay (my name is Faith). I like that so much better than Grandma.

Laracroft, I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband uses a pressed pot, has for years. He swears it's so much better (and I like having no coffee maker sitting on the counter).

bamajenn: Hi. :goodvibes

I realized this morning that I didn't cough once yesterday. It's the first day since my lung surgery that I didn't cough. Seven weeks of coughing; it was starting to drive me bonkers. I may have to celebrate.

Good morning! :goodvibes

Mari - of course you are welcome here!

Also - Welcome to bamajenn :wave2:

Jane - I hate when the DIS goes crazy and long posts get lost into cyberspace.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday morning. :)

And - it looks like we have a winner in my shopping contest!! I got the kids 20 shirts, 4 pair of jeans, and 2 pair of swim trunks for a whopping grand total of -- $110!!! :cool1: It looks like the closest guess without going over was Focusondisney with a guess of $95!! So here you go -- :flower3:

Laracroft, take time out for a bubble bath or something for yourself this weekend! It always makes me feel better when I'm really busy!:goodvibes And eat a piece of chocolate while you're at it!

Dax, I'm so sorry to hear about your migraine... ugh, they're the worst. I hope it starts to lift for you soon!

Hi Bamajenn! Nice to meet you!:flower3:

Jo, you had me laughing with your mom and her names.:rotfl: Your mom sounds like a fun woman! And I'll suggest Wags to my mother when the time comes. :lmao:

Pakey, Faith is such a beautiful name, I love it! And no coughing!!:dance3::cheer2: That must feel so wonderful.:goodvibes Go out and celebrate!:cool1:

Momof2... wow, I was off by a LOT! What a great deal! That's awesome!:thumbsup2
