I am curious about y&y as well. It's really toss up for this and Pizzafari. maroo says she had the WORST meal ever at y&y; it was so bad she had to throw it away!

Did maroo eat at the CS yak & yeti? I've seen some pretty unappetizing pictures from there. Never from the TS yak & yeti though. I'll give you a hint on how my meal went... I didn't need to throw it away but I didn't clear my plate either...

Have a WONDERFUL time on this trip!! I can't wiat to see the pix of your mom getting her surprise!!!

I don't get that either. For the intense rides, I like to have an empty stomach. (That might be the only time I like to have an empty stomach.)

I apologize for the delay, ladies and gentlemen. I am suffering from a terrible cold or allergies (not sure which) but all I know is that my face feels like it's going to explode with the sinus pressure I've been trying to do stuff to keep me occupied but it's slowly starting to consume me. I'm so doped up on anti-histamines that I can't think straight. Trying to write an update right now is just way too daunting. Thank you for your patience and I will try to update soon.

Oh feel better soon. I've been having bad sinus headaches too, because the weather here can't make up its mind. It did finally rain today (for about 3 minutes, but it was a downpour) so I'm finally feeling a little better. Can't wait for the next update, and the beginning of your April trip report! In my last installment, we were just about to check in at Yak & Yeti. I was still feeling a bit woozy after riding EE one time too many. Bubba was adamant that I try eating at Y&Y so I obliged her. Tink was content either way! We didn’t wait long to be seated and once we were settled in at our table, we each ordered fancy drinks.

I believe the orange/red smoothie had alcohol in it but I can’t remember. If it was Bubba’s drink, it probably did To start us off we ordered Lettuce Cups and Pot Stickers

The Lettuce Cups were very light and refreshing, especially on a hot day. These would be a vegetarian’s delight! The iceberg lettuce leaves would have to be just the right shape in order to “cup” all that yummy stuff inside. The pot stickers were satisfying especially with that delicious dipping sauce.
For my entrée, I ordered the Tempura Shrimp. First, let me explain that in my area, there are many, many, MANY sushi restaurants that serve tempura shrimp. The batter is light and not too greasy, which is what I was expecting. You can imagine my surprise when this was placed in front of me.

Fish batter. My shrimp were encased in fish batter. The same fish batter, mind you, that encased my fish at the Rose & Crown (on a previous visit) which made me feel sick for the rest of the trip! One bite into the shrimp and I nearly spat it out again. Great. Since I didn’t want to cause a scene, I simply picked off the greasy, heavy fish batter and ate the shrimp plain. It came with stir fried vegetables and rice.

Bubba ordered the Sweet & Sour Pork.

This seemed more like what you’d find in the local Chinese restaurants around our area. Bubba said it was hot and tasty. Maybe I should’ve ordered that.

Tink ordered Baby Back Ribs

The meat just fell off the bone. It was served with chicken fried rice and some sort of coleslaw. Tink cleaned her plate so it must’ve been good!

For dessert, we all shared a slice of Mango pie.

I’m not the biggest fan of mango on its own, although I seem to like it when it’s dried. I only had about two bites of this but Bubba and Tink ate the rest.
Overall, I’m glad I finally tried Y&Y. It’s a restaurant that I would never consider going to on my own. It was surprising to see just how busy this place actually was. They must be doing something right. Although my meal wasn’t that great, the other dishes that Bubba and Tink ordered were fabulous. The service was quick but not pushy and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu. I would dine here again if invited but I wouldn’t make it a must-do.

One definite must-do’s for the day was to ride Dinosaur so we went there once we finished at Y&Y. Now remember, Bubba HATES this ride but she still rode it with Tink and I. The wait was minimal and we were on our way into the late Cretaceous period.

We escaped by the skin of our teeth but Bubba was never the same.

See my camera? I recorded the whole ride. It’s hilarious to hear Bubba screaming how much she hates the ride. Not much showed up on the video but the running commentary makes up for it.

After Dinosaur, Tink had to leave for work so we parted ways when Bubba and I lined up for Finding Nemo: The Musical.

This was the first time both Bubba and I were seeing this show. I’ve heard rave reviews about it so my expectations were high. While we waited for the show to start, I kept watching for Nemo to swim by in these big bubbles on the wall.

An announcement came on that no photography was allowed but later we realized that no flash photography was allowed. Before we knew this though, I wanted to take pictures of the show so I had Bubba conceal the camera while taking pictures. Not an easy task, let me tell you. Sooner or later, we saw lots of people taking pictures so I didn’t worry so much after that.

Both Bubba and I were disappointed by the show. It wasn’t my cup of tea at all. I know it’s a musical and it’s meant to be different than the movie but really, I like the movie ten times better. Don’t get me wrong, the costumes and presentation of the show were extraordinary. What I did find odd was the scale of the characters. For example, Bruce (shark) was a quarter of the size of Nigel (pelican). Last time I checked, a great white shark can swallow a pelican. The way they’re presented in the musical, this is not the case. I’ll stop there as to avoid any further flames… this is just my opinion. It’s not for
everyone.

To improve my mood, I got myself a Mickey’s Premium Bar

I munched on that on our way back to the car to return to Kidani for a well-deserved nap. We didn't have as much trouble finding Pumbaa parking this time. It pays off to walk your path before driving it. When we got back to the room, Bubba decided she wanted to sleep on the pull out chair to see how comfortable it was. This meant I got the whole king size bed to myself. Score! Before I climbed into bed, I set my alarm for a 4:45pm wake up call. This would give us enough time to get to our Narcoosee's ADR at 5:30pm. Everything was ready as I drifted into dreamland for a short nap....


4:30pm comes and goes.....



5:00pm comes and GOES.....

7:00pm I WAKE UP.....
