The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

This update (not shockingly at all) made me want to be at DHS so badly!

As usual, you got some amazing pictures. That really must have been a beautiful day! Glad you got a nice DISmeet in, too!

SOMEDAY I WILL FIND THAT KEY! I always forget because I'm too excited about Muppets. I really love Muppets. :lmao: Ahhhhh, Toy Story Mania. I absolutely suck at it and I don't care. It's so much fun. Great update! Can't wait for the next one!

Looks like a beautiful morning at DHS. I love when the weather and crowds cooperate and everything just seems to fall into place. And even though TSMM was down for a bit, it sounds like you went with the flow and found other things to occupy yourself with.

The GMR does always have a long line. It's kind of crazy when you think about how many people they can load into one ride vehicle. :confused3

The Broadway section is going to be our top choice because we met because we both sing in the choir at church and we both love musical theater.

Actually my internships were were during the second semester my freshman year and the summer in between my sophomore and junior years. As long as students are 18 and a full time student the semester before the arrive for their internship they can be any year in college and any major. If you or your kids have any questions about the DCP I will do my best to help!

The DIS was driving me crazy the last few days! Every time I would go on, it was a busy server.

Hahaha, of course there's an article on how to be the rebel spy.

We always go on the GMR. Generally because I like an opportunity to rest my feet. Hahaha.

I love how everyone calls it Mickey's Wheel of Death. I find it so fun! :rotfl:

Gotta love a DISmeet!

The Muppets is always a good time.

Mickey’s Wheel of Death

I guess being busy in the yard yesterday had its advantages. :upsidedow

Now MWoD up there had people stranded for about 2 hrs sometime last week.

MFWoD stuck

What a beautiful crystal clear day. :goodvibes Looks like operation do-over in DHS was a success.

I took a break from the internet and didn't even try to log into the Dis. It's a good thing, too, that I stayed away because not being able to log in when I wanted to would have driven me crazy. :badpc:

We finally did the drawing class at the Animation Academy, something I'd really wanted to try. We had gotten to DHS early for the Frozen fireworks and needed to kill some time in an air conditioned, uncrowded spot. We got into the last class of the evening. The CM was allowing the group to choose what character we wanted to do and the majority voted on drawing Buzz Lightyear. It was fun. :goodvibes

Thanks to Danielle's tips on the TSMM Eater eggs I was able to get a pretty good score. I just kept shooting at the same group of targets on the final window and it worked. I only lost to DH by 400 points instead of the usual 150,000. :upsidedow

Have you gone on the lodge tour yet at the Wilderness Lodge? We did it one cold January morning and it was really interesting.

Hey guys -

Today I did my 10K qualifier for the PHM. It was in Easton, MD. That's a little over an hour from my house. I wanted a nice flat run with a small field. I got that and a respectable time to submit for the PHM. I'd like to run faster and want to start working on intervals and improving my stride, but mostly I need to work on distance now.

Anyway - Denny went on a bike ride while I was running. Afterwards we decided to drive down to Cambridge Md and explore a bit. Of course, that included spending a couple hours in a brew pub sampling and watching football. Then we hit the outlets on the way home.

So, I'm whooped and won't get to replies tonight and I'm working tomorrow night. So it looks like I'll be doing replies Tuesday.

See ya around the DIS! :goodvibes

Our next FP was for Star Tours, so we slowly headed in that direction. It was a beautiful morning. A little cool, but sunny with crystal clear blue skies.

It really does look like a beautiful day. Crap. Now I want to book a Disney trip.

Once again I was NOT the Rebel Spy, but I did find this article on how to increase one’s chances.

Be a Rebel Spy

Interesting! Scotty and I both got picked on our last trip. But I think they just wanted someone who was goofy-looking. :rotfl:

Love these models

Me too. :goodvibes

We did get the required picture proof of our meet.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I wanted to do the drawing class, but the line was fairly long and Denny doesn’t really care for this. I guess he’s just not in touch with his artistic side.

C'mon, Denny!

The 3D in the Muppets might not be the best, but this special effect is pretty cool.

It's a classic show. I know eventually it will leave for something else, but I love it every time I see it.

It is with great embarrassment that I post our lowly scores. But the good news is I actually won! Woo Hoo! Denny looked at his score and said Wahhhhhhhh! Well, that may not have been his exact word, but he was just a little dismayed by his dismal score.

I don't see any scores...:rolleyes1

But don't worry. I suck at that game, too.

I love One Man's Dream. I made sure to walk through it this last trip.

I love a DIS meet! Too bad TSM was not working, but glad that you were able to say hi and have a meet.

I did the Backlot Tour this last time, since I knew I wouldn't see it again. Sam with Maelstrom; I don't hate that it'll be a Frozen attraction but I figured I should ride it one final time.

As always, love your pictures! You do such a great job. :thumbsup2

The sky is so blue in your pictures. It truly was a beautiful day to be in Disney!

Yay for a Dis Meet while waiting on Toy Story Mania to open back up. I love me some Dis meets. :thumbsup2

Oh cool! That may very well have been one of the backsacks that I made since I recognize that pattern. Neat!

You were much more productive when the DIS was down than I was :rotfl:

Great update! Looks like a gorgeous DHS day :) It's too bad that Denny doesn't like the animation class much, it is so fun to do!

I love wandering through One Man's Dream, and like you, I find that I love so many of the different pictures and paintings and models. Such an underrated attraction!

A little cool sounds heavenly after the muggy week I had, but it was Disney so I cant really complain.

Love OMD, I always tear up in the video.

Yeah for a Dismeet!

The drawing class is really fun. I'm going to try and get mom there in December.

ooh a bucket list drink????? I can't wait to see what that might be :goodvibes

Yay for seeing Amy :thumbsup2

I want training from Danielle as well!

Such beautiful skies happening that day! I know DHS is not most people's favorite park, but we just love it, so I really enjoyed the little photo walk around the park. :goodvibes

Yay for a DIS meet!

Fun update. Love the drawing of Walt with Mickey. :lovestruc

Bucket list drink? :hyper: Looks like a gorgeous day. Is that Sci Fi?

Maybe that's good that you won't be there before we invade the parks with 130 teenagers. But I have to say, I am very proud of this group. From the time they were in elementary school, they have always been complimented for their polite behavior when they are on field trips.

:rotfl2: Maybe :rotfl2:

Just kidding. I expect kids to be there that time of year! Hey - I remember my first trip to WDW while I was in HS. That's what its all about! I'm sure your kids are well behaved. That's so important. And its really cool that their good behavior was recognized! :thumbsup2

Nate's classmates, while they did present a few issues for me, on the whole were well-behaved at the parks and the resort. We got compliments from the flight crew on the plane and we were at ASMo at the same time as other youth groups and our kids had much more consideration for others than the others I saw.

:thumbsup2

As a chaperone, that must make you so proud. And clearly the parents have set high expectations. If the flight crew recognizes it, that says a lot.

I do like to take pictures during "The Drops" (Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, Rip Saw Falls at Islands of Adventure), but Mark gets made because all of our ride photos have pictures of me with my camera in my face.

:rotfl2: Selfies on drops. I like that. I am always afraid my camera will fly right our of my hands on a drop, so you are much braver than me!

I have never seen the detail and definition of the "ghost" pre-lightning strike before seeing your pictures!

:worship:

Thanks! I had fun with those pictures. I'm glad they turned out. ::yes::

Yesterday was a BAD day for DISaddicts!

:lmao:

It was ridiculous. I started to think it was a problem with my computer and I was going to have to clear my history and restart my computer and then I realized I couldn't get on with my phone either. Doesn't the DIS board know that my social life revolves around DISing on Friday night? :rotfl2:

GORGEOUS picture!

:thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Animatronic UnAnatomically Correct Abe

(Yes, I know that is wrong in so many ways)

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

That's funny! I wonder if it is one of Lisa's bags.

:scratchin

She did comment after you, so it is a possibility!

Nice meet with Amy and the boys. I wonder who they saw play in the training camps. If I recall correctly, one of her boys is a Red Sox fan and one of them roots for the Evil Empire.

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: That's right! I forgot about their teams. Her boys were super cute. I really enjoyed meeting them!

Awesome pictures from Toy Story Mania and Muppets.

Thanks!

Oh yeah- thanks for posting the link to the How to Be a Rebel Spy article. Totally going to send it around to my group before we go.

:goodvibes

You TOTALLY have to get them to go into Rebel Spy Mode. Someone from your group should definitely have that esteemed honor!

That "How to be a rebel spy" article is really interesting. I've never been the spy, maybe I should try some of those tips.

It was a good article. I think my problem is I am always moving around and I take my glasses off and on. Now I know - NO glasses and look straight forward.

I love OMD, can't believe I missed it this past trip. I love so many of the concept paintings and drawings in there!

Me too! It's a great exhibit! I love it and I love the movie!

YAY for Dismeets! :thumbsup2

I wish Amy was still on the DIS boards. I always enjoyed her trip reports. She and her family re so sweet.

I can NEVER get a good score on TSM. I finally learned a few tricks on Buzz though, but I'll still never try my luck against Danielle. :rotfl2:

OMG - Danielle is the master while my scores are always depressing low. At least I am getting over 100,000 now. That's an improvement for me!

Don't worry Mary Ellen, I don't think many people were DISing during that time.

Was it down for everyone? I know that's a dumb question, but I saw a posting during that time but then I couldn't get in to read it so I thought maybe some people were breaking through?

Not going to lie... "A little cool" at Disney sounds like a slice of heaven relatively speaking.

It was quite hot when you were there, wasn't it? The temps in Feb were actually super comfortable. I really enjoyed that time of year. Such an awesome break from winter!

"We all know where those hands were!" OMG :rotfl2:

Sorry. I couldn't resist! :upsidedow

I simply love everything about One Man's Dream. Period. Love your photos. :lovestruc

Me too! I remember the first time I went in there. I was like "WOW". It's a super cool place and, selfishly, I am glad its never that busy!

YAY DISmeet!!

I loved getting to meet Amy. I wish she was still here on the DIS. Bums me out that so many people have left.

Seriously, was that not a pain in the neck yesterday with the DIS not working. We had a bit of rain and I really wanted to catch up everywhere.

I hear ya! Doesn't the DIS know that they interfered with my Friday night social life? :rotfl2: I'm still behind on the DIS now because I was busy Sunday and then worked overnight Monday night. I'm off today so I hope to get caught up.

Anyway, great updates! You got all those big attractions taken care of to make up for your lack of DHS the previous trip.

That was the whole goal. I knew I had some serious do-overs to complete.

Great photos as you walked around the park until it was time f or your DIS meet.

Thanks. It was a beautiful day!

We didn't have time for One Man's Dream this trip so I want to be sure we go next time for sure; I really hate missing it.

I hate missing it too, but its pretty hard to get there every trip. I just love reflecting on Walt's story because its just so inspirational. Really no other story like it.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: you got to meet Amy and her family. I've not yet had the pleasure, but she seems to be a real sweetheart.

She and her family are just lovely. I really wish she was still here on the DIS, but I was super happy that we got to meet up. It worked out perfectly.

I can't wait to hear about lunch at Sci Fi.

Spoiler alert: YUM!!!!!::yes::

Just got back from our recent trip so I am getting caught up here on the boards. I am hoping to do a small TR at some point, too.

Nice day at HS so far. We had hoped to catch the Backstage tour before it closed too but it was already closed for our trip.

Glad that Toy Story came back up. I don't see a score in the pics you posted. I usually score pretty badly in that one too but I think I got 93,000 this time, that's the best I ever did.

Loved your pictures around the Studios. Especially the one that I assume is the bottom of the AT-AT's foot near Star Tours. Took me a little bit to figure out what it was!

And your comment about Pee Wee... :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
