The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

We're so looking forward to seeing you and Denny in a few weeks :)

The pictures around the values are really cute. They do have great theming there.

And great TOT pics :thumbsup2

Ah that's great you're going to meet up with Dawn and Dale (and Caitlin), ESPECIALLY for Yee Haw Bob!! I have still never seen him.

I admit to absolutely LOVING the RnRC pre-show. Now that I can recite it word for word... JUST GET ME ON THE RIDE, LOL!!!

You know, I think on my recent trip was the first time I was at or near the back. Gotta say, I LOVED IT!!! I always like being in the back on coasters. But yes, definitely a different and more intense experience.

Hahaha, I love your ride photo. Your just pretending for the camera I'm sure. ;)

Yay for your next trip being so close! Thanks for the shout-out. I am so missing Disney right now and can hardly wait to get back there.

The hoops section of All Stars Sports is where John's family stayed. As I said, they are sports fans (especially basketball) and sports is right up their alley.

I know exactly what you are talking about when you said that your head is "swimmy" after riding on Rock n Roller Coaster. That's how I feel too. The pictures that you took on Tower of Terror are amazing!

I will try to get a report started as soon as I can. I got home late Saturday due to delays from the idiot in Chicago and then my parents surprised me by being in Colorado so I drove up to see them Sunday in Estes Park. To say I'm behind is an understatement! :rotfl:

I love the start of your new TR!

And seeing some parts of ASSports is great. We have never stayed there, as we always said that the theming does not appeal to us, but you just proved me wrong. :thumbsup2

Awesome that you got to go on RnR and got some great photos and you can never have too many pics of the ToT and it's interior decorations! :goodvibes:
I am amazed at the pics you got of the "ghosts" :worship:

Can't wait to see where you headed next. :goodvibes

The Great February Freeze Escape - Hollywood Studios Do-over!

Welcome back everyone!

Can you believe its under 3 weeks to my next trip!

Can I get a collective “woo hoo”? :cool1:

I can’t wait!

And did anyone know that you can kayak at Fort Wilderness? Apparently you can rent canoes and kayaks at the bike barn. I think I figured out what we are going to do on our first day. Originally I thought we were going to Celelbration, but their Octoberfest isn’t until the evening.

So once we check in to VWL we’ll head over to FW and rent some kayaks. I think we’ll have lunch over there and then head somewhere for pool time (since the WL pool is closed). I’m thinking of maybe heading to CSR and then there’s a part of me that would like to go visit CBR (shout out to Lisa).

It is just 23 days until our WL trip, and we just returned from the YC yesterday. I'm not exactly ready to go back yet. I need to get over how HUMID it was during our trip. :faint: I'm hopping that the weather is a lot better in October.

I took some pictures of the pool construction at the WL if you're interested. I have them in this post:

We are looking forward to meeting you on Thursday morning. :)

Your pictures make All Star Sports look like a really cute resort. I've never been tempted to stay in a value, until I saw your pictures. Do the groups of kids tend to trash the rooms or make a lot of noise?

Fun do-over trip so far. :thumbsup2 Love the Swaggy Mickey t.

And you're going back in 3 weeks? pixiedust: Oh why did I ever move out of park driving distance?

I'm slowly trying to catch up on my leisurely night sitting with a drink on the patio listening to the fish plop in the channel.

Are you trying to make me jealous? :confused3 Well - it's working! :rotfl2:

Nice job of picture taking while dragging your luggage. I am quite impressed.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I forgot what Rock & Roll looked like inside because it's been years since I've been on it. I must say no matter what seat I sit in, I have a headache, neck pain and a backache after riding and why I gave it up.

I am very fearful of that. I never know when I am going to have my last ride because I can't take being beat up anymore.

Great pictures on TOT! I kept my camera out too much to my surprise (you'll see when I get around to starting my TR.

:woohoo: Sounds like we are BOTH getting daring with the picture taking! I was glad I kept the camera in use. It was really fun getting some pictures of the holographics!

Oh and :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: to your trip being just three weeks away.

I can't WAIT! this morning was so hard because I still have 15, no make that 14, more days of work. :faint:

You got some great pics of ToT!!! That is my absolute favorite ride in the whole world! :goodvibes

It's an amazing ride! I wish I wasn't such a chicken so I could just enjoy it a little more. I am always super nervous until its time to get off. Than I think its the greatest thing on earth. :thumbsup2

We're so looking forward to seeing you and Denny in a few weeks :)

I can't wait! :cool1::woohoo::cool1: Our trip is getting so close now. I need to start getting better organized and start packing since we are packing for Halloween and the cruise. It seems like so much!

The pictures around the values are really cute. They do have great theming there.

I know the All Stars are probably no ones favorite, but I really love it over there. It's just so creative and in some ways its more interesting than Pop because of the great variety.

And great TOT pics :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Ah that's great you're going to meet up with Dawn and Dale (and Caitlin), ESPECIALLY for Yee Haw Bob!! I have still never seen him.

I'm super excited to see them again! Can't wait.

Yee Haw Bob is so fun! You have to put him on your bucket list for next trip. And he's honestly a really nice guy and an amazing musician!

I admit to absolutely LOVING the RnRC pre-show. Now that I can recite it word for word... JUST GET ME ON THE RIDE, LOL!!!

I know the feeling since I have the whole pre show memorized too. But I still love it, especially the manager. She cracks me up!

You know, I think on my recent trip was the first time I was at or near the back. Gotta say, I LOVED IT!!! I always like being in the back on coasters. But yes, definitely a different and more intense experience.

A lot of people love the back. It is definitely more intense and I would love it too if it didn't hurt my head. You see - I am really a thrill ride wimp at heart. Boo! I get coaster headaches fairly easily, so the middle is good for me!

Hahaha, I love your ride photo. Your just pretending for the camera I'm sure. ;)

Yup - totally just pretending! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Very interesting fact about the quiet pool at ASMu. I never would've guessed that they'd have a great pool. Out of all the values, that's the one Alex likes the least, so we've never stayed there before. It's good to know they have something positive there in case I ever do end up there in the future.:thumbsup2

Fun pictures of the Hoops section. That's actually the one part of the resort I've never explored before, so it was fun seeing it through your report.

I completely agree with you on. RNRC. Sitting in the back can really whip you around. I tend to ask for front row just to guarantee I don't get stuck in the back.

Great PP picture post ToT!

Yay for your next trip being so close! Thanks for the shout-out. I am so missing Disney right now and can hardly wait to get back there.

I'm very excited that my trip is just around the corner. Can't wait. And I'm looking forward to checking out the cruise.

I can imagine that you are ready to go back. You always have the best trips. I'm sure that May can't get here soon enough.

The hoops section of All Stars Sports is where John's family stayed. As I said, they are sports fans (especially basketball) and sports is right up their alley.

I love that section. It is just so super cute! I hope they liked it. If you are a sports fan then it would be hard to not like AS Sports.

I know exactly what you are talking about when you said that your head is "swimmy" after riding on Rock n Roller Coaster. That's how I feel too. The pictures that you took on Tower of Terror are amazing!

Yeah - I get coaster headaches and problems with equilibrium with coaster rides. I can't do back to back coasters anymore, which stinks because I love coasters.

Glad you like to ToT pics! :good vibes

I will try to get a report started as soon as I can. I got home late Saturday due to delays from the idiot in Chicago and then my parents surprised me by being in Colorado so I drove up to see them Sunday in Estes Park. To say I'm behind is an understatement! :rotfl:

Jill in CO

:rotfl: OMG Jill - that is too funny! I think I saw on FB that you got delayed. What a Pain in the you know what! :faint:

Nice about the surprise visit from you parents. That's great!

Just give me a shout out when you get started! :thumbsup2

I love the start of your new TR!

Thanks Karin! :thumbsup2

And seeing some parts of ASSports is great. We have never stayed there, as we always said that the theming does not appeal to us, but you just proved me wrong. :thumbsup2

It is a super cute resort. I have to admit I have been spoiled by the interior of the the DVC rooms. It did make the interior of the All Star room seem very basic, but it was still cute.

Awesome that you got to go on RnR and got some great photos and you can never have too many pics of the ToT and it's interior decorations! :goodvibes:
I am amazed at the pics you got of the "ghosts" :worship:

Since we totally missed HS on our October trip I was pretty determined to make sure we got all the best rides in first thing in the morning. It always gets my adrenaline pumping to do both of those rides first thing. :thumbsup2

I'm glad my pics of the ghosts turned out! Can you say score?

Can't wait to see where you headed next. :goodvibes

:scratchin::yes::

Your trip is SO CLOSE!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Love love love ToT, my very favorite ride!!!! Fabulous pictures!

I've never been over to All Star Sports. I've done Music and Pop. Great theming all around!

I agree with you about the All Star Resorts. I like the theming... something different and fun. I'm a sports junkie, so I'd love to stay at All Star Sports. I usually end up avoiding it like the plague though, because I know that if there is any kind of youth activity going on at Wide World of Sports, they'll be staying there. :rotfl:

Great pictures of RnRc and ToT. Thanks for leaving the camera out until the last second. :rotfl2: Sorry the limo ride was a little rough, but I'm glad it didn't keep you down for long.

I can't believe they're actually selling shirts themed on the magic bands... :crazy2: :faint:

I'm glad you like your night at ASSports. My family has stayed there many times, it's where my husband and I stayed for our honeymoon, and it's where I worked during both of my College Program Internships.

It is just 23 days until our WL trip, and we just returned from the YC yesterday. I'm not exactly ready to go back yet. I need to get over how HUMID it was during our trip. :faint: I'm hopping that the weather is a lot better in October.

I forgot you had two back to back trips! NICE! I heard it was really hot recently, but that's how September can be. I am sure October will be better. At least I certainly hope it will.

Other than the heat I hope you had a great trip. And I hope you spent plenty of time at SAB! :thumbsup2

I took some pictures of the pool construction at the WL if you're interested. I have them in this post:

http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=52353168&postcount=2021

Yes - I'm interested. I'm just about to take a look. Did you go over there for a visit? Does it look really bad? I guess I am about to find out! :rolleyes1

We are looking forward to meeting you on Thursday morning. :)

Ditto! It should be a lot of fun!

Your pictures make All Star Sports look like a really cute resort. I've never been tempted to stay in a value, until I saw your pictures. Do the groups of kids tend to trash the rooms or make a lot of noise?

Before we bought DVC I stayed there a few times with my kids, but our family trips were in the mods. Denny and I actually did a 4 night trip to Pop during free dining when it was super cheap to upgrade to the deluxe dining plan. We already had an AP so we just tucked the require tickets away for later. We went in September when it wasn't crowded and it was great.

I really never stayed at the All Stars when the "groups" were there, but I've heard it can be very disruptive.

Fun do-over trip so far. :thumbsup2 Love the Swaggy Mickey t.

That's really cute, isn't it? :thumbsup2

And you're going back in 3 weeks? pixiedust: Oh why did I ever move out of park driving distance?

12 more working days. I can't wait. Of course, I haven't done a single thing recently to get ready so I need to get my "you know what" in gear!

Very interesting fact about the quiet pool at ASMu. I never would've guessed that they'd have a great pool. Out of all the values, that's the one Alex likes the least, so we've never stayed there before. It's good to know they have something positive there in case I ever do end up there in the future.:thumbsup2

I'm sure not everyone thinks they have a great quiet pool, but I fell in love with it when I stayed there with Nick about 8 years ago. It was just so relaxing there. For some reason that pool just really appeals to me.

Fun pictures of the Hoops section. That's actually the one part of the resort I've never explored before, so it was fun seeing it through your report.

I get the feeling that AS Sports is on the very bottom of the resort hierarchy and I always knew I wanted to check it out one day. I'm glad we did. I wouldn't want a long trip there, but I really did feel comfortable there and I loved the Hoops Hotel. So darn cute!

I completely agree with you on. RNRC. Sitting in the back can really whip you around. I tend to ask for front row just to guarantee I don't get stuck in the back.

Me too! In fact, that's one of the few times I haven't and I paid for it. :faint:

Great PP picture post ToT!

Thanks! :good vibes

Rock n Roller coaster and Tower of Terror back to back. Love it.

It doesn't get much better than that, does it? :thumbsup2

Your trip is SO CLOSE!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I know! :cool1: Woo Hoo! :cool1: Only 12 more work days. :worship::worship::worship: I can't wait! ::yes::

Love love love ToT, my very favorite ride!!!! Fabulous pictures!

Thanks! A lot of people love that ride. I always love it when I come off, but I always get nervous before the ride. What can I say? I'm a chicken!

I've never been over to All Star Sports. I've done Music and Pop. Great theming all around!

Same. I had never stayed at AS Sports before, but I knew I wanted to check it out ever since the couple of times I stayed at Music. I just fell in love with the Hoops Hotel and I'm glad I got to stop there.

Ok, all caught up now!
Loved the recap/firsts and favourites.
And YAY for starting a new one!!

This picture is entirely representation of the small of amount of snow that we get in Delaware. Those of you that get “real” snow can laugh now!
I did, thanks for that Mary Ellen. Got a good chuckle! Although I'm worried because weather folks are saying we're in for (and I quote) "The T-REX of winters" this year. :faint:

Your flag is pretty cool. I googled it. I won't argue with you! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a pretty smooth travel day. Glad you got to ASSports with no issues and (eventually) got checked in. I love that CMs try to be friendly and chatty, but I totally get you on it being too late for that!

WOOHOO for 3 weeks to go until the next one!

I read about kayaking at the Fort before this trip. Johnny and I were seriously tempted, but our park time was just a little too short to use it up doing something we do almost every day at home. Still, next trip I'd really like to!

LOVE rock n rollercoaster, it's usually where I run to first also. Although I LOVE the back!

Great pics in the ToT line!

WHEW! Caught up!

And did anyone know that you can kayak at Fort Wilderness?

:wave2:

So once we check in to VWL we’ll head over to FW and rent some kayaks. I think we’ll have lunch over there and then head somewhere for pool time (since the WL pool is closed).

FW is a pretty cool place. Lots to do there, and it's relatively secret for Disney!

That’s all the pictures I took because I just wanted to run and get done. That is until I got back to the Hoops Hotel, which I totally think is one of the coolest value resort areas on property. I know AoA and Pop is super cool, but so is the Hoops Hotel!

My feeling is, if you're on Disney property, then it's a good place.:thumbsup2

And it looked crowded, but doesn’t HS ALWAYS look crowded at park opening?

::yes::

You see - I love RnR! I really do, but I don’t do well in any of the last 4 seats from the back. It’s a bit too much of a head banger for me. Of course, that is where we were placed - 3rd seat from the back. Denny encouraged me to just stay there and not ask for a different seat. I did, but after the ride I was still a little “swimmy”, for lack of a better word.

Uh oh. I get that feeling a lot on EE. The backwards part feels so disorienting.

Naturally, ToT makes perfect sense when you're feeling swimmy. :rotfl:

Finally it was time to ride and I actually kept my camera out!

Great job on the ghost pictures!:thumbsup2

I didn’t take any more pictures, because I am a chicken. The whole dropping thing unnerves me a bit. Sorry. What can I say? I’m a whimp!

No, just sane.

Here’s our ride photo. Yours truly’s hair is still standing on edge! Gotta love that!
