The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Well you say dismal but you still won a beaver (very popular in Canadia) and a cute little bunny.

Holy that's a wicked deal. I wish they did deals like that for AP (well, obviously not ticket related but something as good).

Oh yeah of course you went to the Drive in for the food which is why Sci-Fi is so popular.

I have really fallen for the Citizens of Hollywood. I plant to make that a must do from now on.

OK, that sunglass reflection shot is fabulous.

My goodness Bo sure is a popular fella.

OMG the Mickey Power pole!! I love that thing. I always make a point to show that to newbees.

You know I may have visited there when I was a kid. The whole sponge thing really sounds familiar and we did spend a lot of time in Tampa.

Dad's Lemonade is Dale and Caitlin's favorite :)

I love to stop and watch the Streetmosphere Performers at DHS. So fun!

Great shot with you in Denny's glasses :thumbsup2

And lastly, :woohoo: you'll be here soon!

The real question is...is that a good or a bad thing that I knew immediately what drink you were talking about?

:rotfl:

Great update, Mary Ellen. Love all the photos of Sci Fi and glad you and Denny enjoyed your lunch there.

The photopass pics are great and really love what the photographer did with you in Denny's glasses.

Love the street characters at the Studios.

Great picture with Bo.

I'm with you...I like the sponges you buy at the store better. :)

Dinner looks yummy.

If I don't get back here, have a great trip!

Oh, and great job on the FP+ selection at the last minute.

Mary Ellen - Nice day at HS.

It was a great do-over day! I really enjoyed it. I think Denny did too! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your upcoming trip and good for you getting the 4 day DVC park pass!

Rebecca

Thanks.

And, yeah - the ticket was pretty much a no brainer. It was just impossible for me to pass that up! It took me all over 12 hours to decided to purchase it. :cool1:

Back to Sci- Fi

I remember the hot dog and bun and the ice cream more from Grease than the movies I think. :rotfl:

Really? That's because I'm older than you, although Grease came out when I was in high school. I totally remember that hot dog and bun. It's funny how some things just stick in your mind..... and never leave! :rotfl2:

I never knew that about Tarpon Springs and being in Clearwater I was close enough that I should have known that. :confused3

Tarpon Springs really wasn't that far from Clearwater. We drove down to Dunedin one afternoon and before we knew it we were on the outskirts of Clearwater. It's a cool little town. I'm glad we got to visit it, but if we go back to that area again I would stay south of Tampa. I liked that area better (spoiler alert) :roll eyes:

:scared1::scared1: on the peas. :rotfl2: Glad the rest of your meal was good.

You would have died wight hat many peas.

It was all really delish! ::yes::

An Eastern Egg is a hidden trick to get a higher score om Toy Story Mania. These tricks were designed by the Imagineers to make the game more fun and competitive. There are certain things to shoot at that will bring up targets with a high point value. I have never looked up what those tricks are, but I must have unintentionally run into one when I was last there. :)

I knew there were some "tricks" on TSM, but I have never heard the term Eastern Egg. I am going to have to google it so I know where to find it. I always try to shot low at the higher numbers, but you can see it doesn't help much with my score. :rotfl2::confused3

I was behind, but caught up now

I've never seen AS Sports before and it looks really cool! Love the basketballs, very clever.

I get that way sometimes too with rides. Sometimes even with Star Tours I have to refocus.

Oh my gosh, really cool ToT photos! And you're definitely not a wimp! You're brave to take pictures on that ride at all.

Cool link about the rebel spy. Now i'll be on a mission to have someone in our party picked as the rebel spy.

I still need to go see a OMD. I'm terrible.

I think Danielle needs to have a TSM Workshop ::yes:: I recently broke the 200,000 which works for me, but now I want to get into the 250,000 range.

Uh, if you weren't watching the movie, what were you doing?! :confused3:blush::lmao:

My mom absolutely loves dining at ScFi! She would eat here twice every trip if she could.

:rotfl2:I love that picture of you in Denny's glasses! How fun!

I really love staying at B&B's. So much more cozier and friendly than a hotel. And a hot breakfast in the morning is always a good thing.

Oooooh how I love Greek food! Have never tried Spanikopita but i've heard good things about this dish.

You know, I have been writing my TR on my blog but I was thinking I'd have it on the DIS, too. The one thing about Blogger is it's not easy to have a dialogue with people and chat like you can on the TRs, so maybe I will do that. I'll post a link here, if you don't mind, once I get it going. :thumbsup2

I love Sci-Fi; the food has always been good, the price is right and the atmosphere is fun. I love your pictures!

I bet that authentic Greek food was awesome! Years ago, we went to St Pete and near our hotel was this little diner where we had breakfast every day. It was Greek-inspired and SO GOOD. Seriously the best restaurant breakfasts I've ever had.

Can't wait to hear all about your adventures! :cool1:

Katie, I hope you do; it's so hard for me to DIS and read blogs in a work day. Please do let us know if you do and the link.

Have fun Mary Ellen on your trip. As soon as I read that post on facebook I knew plans would be changing. ;)

Tarpon Springs looks beautiful. I love all the boat pictures and the sponges look neat too. Thought I wouldn't want to use one on my body.
I love the B&W picture.

Enjoyed your recap of Sci Fi. Those commercials can be pretty amusing.

Ahh, a stop at the Tune In Lounge, that's something I've been meaning to try. Your drink looks really tasty, and in that girl at the bar's defense, all Disney drinks are typically strong if you're not a big drinker. :lmao: (I say that only because I have grown accustomed to Disney's heavy handed ness and am occasionally disappointed at regular restaurants.)

Yuck, 2 hours to get to Tampa. Gotta love Friday evening traffic.

I'm happy to hear you found the carriage house easily enough and had an enjoyable dinner.

And, yeah, sponges aren't the prettiest things in the world.:rotfl2: and imagine, a lot of people display those in their homes.:confused3

In case I'm not on here before Friday, have a wonderful time on your trip! I'm sure cruising will be a fun experience for you two and I hope Denny has a great birthday.
And, yeah, at 50 dollars a ticket, that pass would be impossible to pass up. And hey, now you've got an extra reason to take another vacation. Have to try Universal out!:rotfl:

Hey guys. I leave in 48 hours!!!! I have been crazy busy this week so I don't even know if I'll get to replies before I leave. Monday I packed, yesterday I did a 6.5 mile trail run after work, tonight I'm on my way to a Halloween parade, and tomorrow I have a rehearsal. So if I don't get to replies now, I will !

Have an absolutely fantastic trip!!!

That is super news that you were able to get a great deal on park tickets. To paraphrase Jurassic Park's "Life finds a way". Disney finds a way!

You got some pretty impressive last minute fast passes! :cool1:

Congrats on your race time.

************************

The Sci Fi is a must-do for my family.

Orange Pilsner. Grapefruit Beer at Food & Wine. I want to go beer "hopping" with you and try all of the citrus ales.

Love your pictures from the back of the restaurant.

That really is a neat picture with you in Denny's sunglasses.

**************************

I am loving your little getaway to Tarpon Springs so far. The marina and sponge boats/fishing boats are so beautiful!

And you are killing me with the Greek food. My favorite cuisine!

:thumbsup2

How fabulous to get such a great price on Disney tickets! I'm guessing this means that Universal (and Butterbeer) are out for you, but I do recommend that you try both of them sometime! ;)

I need to try a meal at Sci-Fi one of these trips. Those cars and the movie clips look so fun!

What a fun trip to Tarpon Springs! I also prefer man-made to "natural" sponges, but it's pretty neat to see all of them strung up on the boats.

Your dinner looks GREAT - I love Greek food.

HAVE A FANTASTIC TRIP! Can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes

So sorry you had to leave Disney quickly! It's nice to even get a short visit in, but that departure sadness comes so much sooner.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Florida!

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Sci Fi after your long absence. I really enjoy it for what it is.

Glad the carriage house worked out well for you. Even if you had to store some extra food for your hosts. :rotfl2: Never knew about the Tampa area sponge industry. Learn something new all the time. :thumbsup2

Sci Fi is too cool. Love the photos you got of all the cars. They have a very delicious spinach/artichoke dip that I've been wanting to get back for.

The carriage house looks cute. But weird about the shrimp storage.

Beautiful pictures of the boats.

Awesome about the WDW tickets!!! :cool1: does this mean universal is out?

Hope you have a FABULOUS vacation!!!!!!

Oh, I got back in here just in time to wish you a great trip!!
Glad you got the tickets. Good deals are hard to pass up!!

I'm slowly getting back to reading all the TRs I've subbed to. SciFi is still someplace we haven't been yet. One of these days…

I think I'm with Pat remembering the concession ads from Grease! Too funny!

Love Greek food!! It's so similar to Armenian food that I grew up eating with the family. Yummy! But for the peas on that plate. No thanks.:sad2:

Well you say dismal but you still won a beaver (very popular in Canadia) and a cute little bunny.

:rotfl2: Well, that's one way to look at it! :thumbsup2 I mean, who doesn't love a bunny and a beaver!

Holy that's a wicked deal. I wish they did deals like that for AP (well, obviously not ticket related but something as good).

I have had an AP almost continuously for the last 3 or more years. Whenever one expires I usually pick up a new one with my next trip. This truly was going to be the first time I was going without a park ticket. I kept hoping that I would come across some kind of deal. Really crazy that I just found it. I'm pretty psyched and feel pretty lucky! :cheer2:

Oh yeah of course you went to the Drive in for the food which is why Sci-Fi is so popular.

Exactly! ::yes::

I have really fallen for the Citizens of Hollywood. I plant to make that a must do from now on.

:thumbsup2 Fun stuff. Love it!

OK, that sunglass reflection shot is fabulous.

Here's a secret - it took me awhile to figure out exactly what he was doing. Then I finally had a ah-hah moment! :goodvibes

My goodness Bo sure is a popular fella.

Bo really has a way with the ladies! ::yes::

OMG the Mickey Power pole!! I love that thing. I always make a point to show that to newbees.

It's so cool, isn't it? I took like 10 pictures of it, but none of them would come out thanks to window glare. Very cute little detail.

You know I may have visited there when I was a kid. The whole sponge thing really sounds familiar and we did spend a lot of time in Tampa.

Then you probably did because Tarpon Springs is not far at all from Tampa. It's a cute little touristy town!

Dad's Lemonade is Dale and Caitlin's favorite :)

Dale and I seem to have a couple favorite drinks in common! :thumbsup2 Dad's Lemonade really was super yummy! I might just have to have another one!

I love to stop and watch the Streetmosphere Performers at DHS. So fun!

They really are! What a great way to be entertained!

Great shot with you in Denny's glasses :thumbsup2

That was fun. I'll have to try taking that same picture myself. It's a fun shot!

And lastly, :woohoo: you'll be here soon!

OMG! I can't wait! :cool1::cool1::cool1: This has been a super hectic week and I have been following the Ebola outbreak in all my free time. I will pm you soon to make sure we are still on for Saturday night. I don't know if you have the same phone number or if you have a new Florida number!!!

The real question is...is that a good or a bad thing that I knew immediately what drink you were talking about?

:rotfl:

I think it means that you know me so well you had no trouble guessing what might be on my drink bucket list! :rotfl:

Great update, Mary Ellen. Love all the photos of Sci Fi and glad you and Denny enjoyed your lunch there.

Thanks Kathy! Sci Fi was a fun meal. We really enjoyed it. It's a perfect place for a lunch break!

The photopass pics are great and really love what the photographer did with you in Denny's glasses.

That was fun - once I figured out what he was doing. Cute idea. I'd like to try it myself.

Love the street characters at the Studios.

Me too! They are so fun to watch. So entertaining!

Great picture with Bo.

Thanks! :good vibes

I'm with you...I like the sponges you buy at the store better. :)

:rotfl: MUCH better! :rotfl2:

Dinner looks yummy.

Oh - it really was! I really enjoyed it for something completely new! So yummy!

If I don't get back here, have a great trip!

Thanks! Really looking forward to getting our trip started!

Oh, and great job on the FP+ selection at the last minute.

Thanks! I was pretty psyched I was able to get as many as we did. Considering I made them a little over a week ago. Talk about last minute! :rotfl:
