The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Love a finale with fireworks. :thumbsup2

Michael gave that Reedy Creek firefighter a patch from his station, wonder if it'll end up with those you posted.

I feel like I am in Night at the Museum with your Spaceship Earth pics, very cool!

Loved this report. Please link me when you write the next. :goodvibes

You got some great photos on the rides. I swear every trip I am not taking pictures and just enjoying the rides. But those dark rides are my challenge that I can't resist.

I always say I am not going to take pictures on certain rides and that I am just going to sit back and enjoy. But I can never seem to do it! :rotfl: You're right - its always a challenge to go for that perfect picture!

I totally get taking a break from the DIS. I do it every now and then. I have stopped replying on most forums. I find I am much happier that way.

I rarely venture away from the TR section. I find a lot of other DISers to be really negative and I hate that. I don't have time for it. But I find everyone over here to be really positive. Love that!

Looking forward to St. Augustine. We took a short lighthouse stop years ago but that was it. I really would like to make more side trips one day but with Jim refusing to take more than a week off for vacation there isn't enough time.

It is really hard to do a side trip when you only have a week and you have to drive. I get that. Since this trip was longer than usual I decided to take advantage of it and get the side trip in! :thumbsup2

Loved your update. I rarely comment, but am doing so today...I enjoy reading your TR's and am glad you decided against giving up DISing!

Thanks for commenting. So glad you liked the update. I always have trouble getting back into the swing of writing when I first get back from a trip. I feel so far behind and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever catch up. I'm good now! :thumbsup2

Well, for what it's worth, I'm glad you're back to DISing. I do know the feeling. It can get a little tiring. Glad you decided to continue though. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I'm glad I decided to continue, too! I just had to get myself back in the swing of things. I think I'm OK now! :thumbsup2

"I swear this guy looks stoned" :lmao:

Well he does, doesn't he?????:rotfl2:

I just love looking at all these MK photos. There's just nothing quite like it. I often wonder how many people are completely unaware of the statue opening her eyes.

I really do think that you move through that section so quickly and your focus is on getting through the door and not on the statues. I make sure I see her open her eyes every time or its just not a ride on the HM.

Oh GOD that close-up pic of Leota is bone chilling. :scared:

I actually have some better ones from previous rides. She IS very scary and her facial expressions change quite a bit. You see it best with pictures!

That's one of my new goals... to watch Wishes from a different location than Main Street. It'll be hard, but I need to try it.

A worth goal, but definitely not as good as watching from Main Street. BUT - it is really fun to watch while you are actually ON BTMRR. Put that on your bucket list!

I love the BB update...you see very little of the water parks in most TRs and Joe and I are always saying that we really need to visit one of them at some point in the near future, it just never seems to happen! I like the look of BB though so I think we might just get inspired for next trip!

It's really a cool water park. I'm so glad that we visited both of the water parks this past year. They are both top notch and a great way to take a break from the regular parks. I can't recommend them enough. :thumbsup2

IHave a great time on your girl's trip...can't wait to read all about it!

We had a really fabulous time. Since we are both in the middle of writing TR's I'm not sure when we'll get to that one. I'll keep everyone posted.

I completely understand about the DIS break. Sometimes you have to do that.

I always have trouble getting back on the DIS when I get home, but it was particularly bad this time. Now that I'm posting again I think I'm OK and I should be good for awhile. I hope! :rolleyes1

I love the fall time of year at Disney; those decorations are so great!

Aren't they? The Halloween MK decorations are so awesome. I think I like them better than the Christmas decorations. :thumbsup2

Great pictures, as usual! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

I completely understand that. Sometimes it does consume a little more time to keep up with everything than you'd like to spend on something that is just supposed to be a fun diversion from everyday life. But nonetheless, I'm glad you're back. :thumbsup2

You're right - the whole purpose of DISing is for it to be a fun diversion, but whenever I go away I get stressed that it's going to take me awhile to catch up again. That's no fun! Now that I've updated and I'm getting caught up on everyone else's TRs I feel less stressed. :thumbsup2

Maybe you just didn't take pictures? :confused3 :lmao:

It's hard to believe that could happen, but you're right. Maybe I actually DIDN'T take pictures. The horror! :faint:

Sweatshirts??? Are you actually in there somewhere??? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I think its me. In fact, I'm almost 100% positive! :rotfl2:

That isn't even a fair competition. I mean with kids... yeah, but adults only... :rotfl2:

BTMRR at night will always win out in my touring plans. I just love it that much!!!!

Welcome back to the DIS! I don't blame you for not wanting to come back. I'm in a serious DIS funk right now and I don't know why so I get it!

Your pictures of HM were so good I had to scroll through them quickly as they were freaking me out when I first saw them late at night LOL

Great ending Mary Ellen !!! I loved your pix on SE !!! Mine seldom turn out well !! But with a point a shoot camera what can you expect!!

Glad you liked the update. :thumbsup2

The key to the low light pics is putting it in a manual mode and adjusting the shutter speed and cranking up the ISO. Most point and shoot pictures have manual settings.

Can't believe next month I will be in Williamsburg!!!!

I hope you love it! Don't forget Food for Thought. The cheese shop is good but that's counter service. That might be tough for your crew.

Well thank you for saying so. ;) Seriously, I would love to a. get a better camera and b. take some photography lessons some day. For now though, I will take the occasional picture that will turn out and have fun with it. :goodvibes

I have always wanted to take lessons, too. But there is a lot you can learn just by reading about it. You just have to read, let it sink in, re-read it, and practice. I think it's really confusing at first, but it gets easier. Of course, I have only scratched the surface of it.

I am going to have to remember this. I doubt I will to be honest. I can't remember what I do from one day to the next any more. Maybe I should put it in my notes for the day we go to MK. ::yes:: that is what I will do. :thumbsup2

Good plan. That will definitely help with the old memory. But I have to laugh at your comment about not remembering what you do from one day to the next. I can totally identify with that! :rotfl2:

Ugh, nobody can blame you for being reluctant to return to the DIS after losing all those pictures! :( I would have taken a break from the web, as well, while my computer was being repaired. Plus, I think everyone goes through phases on the DIS. Sometimes, we love being active, other times, we just need the break to catch up and enjoy real life for awhile. Totally understandable.

Besides, 3 weeks in between updates isn't that long in terms of my update time frame. :lmao::rotfl2:

Well, it wasn't just the computer issue. I was still having trouble getting back into it. I think I'm good now. And fortunately all my pictures were retrieved. I just have to edit quite a few. That's a bummer, but it could be so much worse.

That really is a great time of day at MK. It's so nice to see the lights on attractions start to turn on, and with the sun having set, it's usually alittle cooler out. :good vibes

I love twilight in the parks. There is still enough ambient light but the lights being on makes everything look so cool. Love it! :thumbsup2

Thunder Mtn at night is the best! And it can be so refreshing to enjoy the coasters rather than fight the Main Street madness.

I totally agree! I love hanging out at BTMMR and not fighting the crowds that leave right after the fireworks. That is just the worst!

:scared1:
Was it me? I promise I'll behave next time.

Yup - that was it! It was you Mark! :rotfl2: I'm sorry you had to find out this way! :rotfl2:

Nah - I just always have trouble getting back into DISing after I complete a vacation.

It was great and, hopefully, we'll get around to writing a TR!

Nice picture!

Thanks! So glad you like!

::yes:: Pretty magical they way they light everything up.

It is very cool. I love twilight and all the lighting just makes it look that much cooler!

So cool! (and creepy)

Definitely creepy!!!!!

That one is just plain disturbing!

Yeah - she definitely looks scarier in photos then in real life. That's why I love taking pictures. They turn out a little different each time and its interesting how an animatronic can look different in each picture.

As it should have!:thumbsup2

Big Thunder is a big winner on any occasion! Gotta love it!

Cool! Such a neat little town. Can't wait to see what you thought of it.

I LOVED it! It was such a great town. It really reminded me of the deep south in Florida. I would love to go back! :thumbsup2

Love a finale with fireworks. :thumbsup2

Me too! :good vibes

Michael gave that Reedy Creek firefighter a patch from his station, wonder if it'll end up with those you posted.

Cool! I hope it does. When I took the KTTK tour I asked about the patches and my tour guide said anyone can drop off a patch. They try to display all the ones they are given.

I feel like I am in Night at the Museum with your Spaceship Earth pics, very cool!

:thumbsup2 Cool! Thanks for the compliment. I really did focus on their faces and that was fun!

Loved this report. Please link me when you write the next. :goodvibes

Oh, I'm not done this one yet. There is still more to come. I guess Cynthia and I have to decide when to start the girl's trip TR.

Great updates!!

Thanks! So glad you enjoyed!

Welcome back to the DIS! I don't blame you for not wanting to come back. I'm in a serious DIS funk right now and I don't know why so I get it!

Oh NO! Not you too! You just started a new TR. You can't be in a funk right now. That is just wrong! Maybe its because we just got back? :confused3

Your pictures of HM were so good I had to scroll through them quickly as they were freaking me out when I first saw them late at night LOL

:rotfl2: Hahaha - that's funny! I love taking pictures in there because, honestly, I never know exactly what I am going to get. So the mystery makes it cooler.

Well now, I don't think you qualify as a former DISer. Let's just call you a DISer on hiatus. ;) But I would have cried real tears if you gave up the DIS altogether. For real.

I swear that guy probably is stoned. It's the only way you can survive being in Spaceship Earth 24 hours a day 365 days a year. :rotfl2:

Woah. Dude, your bride picture is INSANE. I LOVE IT!!!

Glad you're feeling "DISsy" again! ;)
I go in spurts - Like how I couldn't get myself motivated to do a TR for Alaska.

Cool creepy HM pictures.

I have to see if I can convince my kids to ride BTMRR at night instead of the parade - I bet I can!

Glad your computer is all fixed, that would be a huge stressor!

I completely understand about feeling less than enthusiastic about the boards. I love love love reading TRs but writing them can be overwhelming sometimes. I'm so glad you didn't give it up though, I love your TRs!!!!

Great evening at MK :) fun that you saw family heading out.

That bride scene is so creepy :crazy2:

:rotfl2: Yeah - I don't think I'm quite ready to totally give up on the DIS, but it would be so easy to just stop writing after I get home from a trip. Sometimes getting behind feels so overwhelming!

That's the first time I really ever noticed his face up close like that. Sheesh - way too much hookah! :rotfl2:

Woah. Dude, your bride picture is INSANE. I LOVE IT!!!

Thanks. She DOES look pretty insan, doesn't she? :rotfl2: But you gotta love her all the same!

Glad you're feeling "DISsy" again! ;)

I can understand that. My hardest time is right after I get home from a trip. Getting caught up again seems so overwhelming and I have to fight the urge just to quit. But I think I'm good now. I feel reasonable well caught up! :thumbsup2

Cool creepy HM pictures.

Thanks!

I have to see if I can convince my kids to ride BTMRR at night instead of the parade - I bet I can!

Ride it during the fireworks! That is really fun and special. I just always worry that I am going to hurt my neck from all the turning around I do. :rotfl:

Glad your computer is all fixed, that would be a huge stressor!

Thank goodness I am not dependent on my computer for work or other important things. Right now its just for pictures, music, and DISing! And the repairs were covered, so that was a plus!

I completely understand about feeling less than enthusiastic about the boards. I love love love reading TRs but writing them can be overwhelming sometimes. I'm so glad you didn't give it up though, I love your TRs!!!!

I think its the combo of having to catch up on this TR AND everyone else's. I know some people just write TRs and that don't care about keeping up on others. But I feel like if someone is going to read and comment on mind, then I need to make the effort to keep up on theirs. That's just the way I roll. And I always worry that I might be forgetting someones.

Great evening at MK :) fun that you saw family heading out.

I didn't expect to see Denny's brother again, so that was nice. He was exhausted and so was my SIL. She was like, "How do you do this all the time?" Easy peasy!

That bride scene is so creepy :crazy2:

She really is so much creepier in pictures. That's why I love taking pics in there. The results are always slight different and in varying degrees of creepiness! ;)

So right now I am planning on October 19th for the Halloween party. Do you know when you are going to be there?

I am not going in October. Jill and family will be there earlier in the month. I think around the 3rd is when they go. They will be back in the real world by the 19th. They are doing MNSSHP, but I'm not sure what night. I will enjoy pictures from both of you. :thumbsup2

Awww. Bummer! I was hoping. Oh well. sigh. Maybe another time!

That really sucks about the hard drive crash. What a bummer! But I'm glad you decided to come back to the DIS, your friends & fans have missed you!

I always feel it when I'm writing my TR updates, but reading these updates and seeing your pics of MK as the sun was going down made me miss WDW in October SO BAD! I can't wait to get back at that time of year again. It's so perfect!

I have recovered from the hard drive crash and I am busily editing all my pictures and backing them up again!

I have DISing pretty hard this week, so I think I'm good! :thumbsup2 I even subbed to a new TR. :thumbsup2

Hope your new job is going well.

It really is perfect. When I see those pictures I feel like I can almost feel the weather. It's a lot like how our September weather is here, but much more consistent. You'll make it! You've got great plans coming up and you'll back to WDW in no time!

Glad your back with an update! I love the fountain picture. Your Haunted Mansion pictures came out really well, especially the creepy bride.
I've been on the boards since 2003. Sometimes I disappear for awhile between trips to give myself a break.

Thanks. So glad you liked the pics and the update! I enjoyed taking pictures in HM because its always interesting to see what I am going to get!

I've been on the boards since 2003. Sometimes I disappear for awhile between trips to give myself a break.

I've been on since 2005 but I don't recall when I started writing TRs. It seems like I travel there so much (and I'm really lucky to be able to do so) that I am writing one TR after another. My hardest time is when I first get back because I feel so far behind. That's tough!

Wow, when you do an update............... :worship:

I swear this guy looks stoned

Well, with that smile on his face, I'm not sure HE'S the one who got stoned........... :rolleyes1

I think we were supposed to kiss here. Wait for it. Wait for it.

I love this time of night.

Totally agree, I love this time of evening also, when all the lights start coming on! :goodvibes

You got some great pictures in SE and HM! :thumbsup2 I never can get any decent ones to come out in either place........ :(

And of course, some absolutely gorgeous fireworks pics!!! :cheer2:

Glad you're back and that you had fun on your girl's trip!!!

Really great pictures! :)

I'm so annoyed at myself, because I specifically wanted a picture of this clock with the IIII instead of IV for the four. And I totally forgot!
