We were torn as to whether to watch the parade of ride Big Thunder. Judging from these pictures, Big Thunder won out. I tried to get a couple shots of the distant parade





I even managed to get a few firework bursts from the back of the park.





















I suspect that we headed out shortly after the fireworks because I have pictures of nothing else.

So that, my friends, is a wrap!

Up Next - A trip back in time to Saint Augustine Florida. I have to re-edit all those pictures since I lost them when my hard drive crashed, so be patient! Hopefully it won't be another three weeks until an update!

OMG- I love all of the close-up photos in the attractions: Spaceship Earth, Haunted. I love the way you captured all of the faces. Nobody ever thinks to do that!

And I love your lantern pictures, especially the one in the foreground with the castle.

That is nice that you ran into Denny's brother and the kids. So cute!

Those were some pretty bonus fireworks.

I know what you mean about getting burned out on Dis every so often. I do too. I slack off sometimes because I am busy, but some times I just need to go back to the real world for a bit and do real life things.

Welcome Back! Sorry about your computer. I have to admit, sometimes I'm not so DISish either. Lately I've spent more time trying to figure out how to plan than actually reading TRs. Looks like a nice evening. Looking forward to seeing your time in St. Augustine.

You got some great photos on the rides. I swear every trip I am not taking pictures and just enjoying the rides. But those dark rides are my challenge that I can't resist.

I totally get taking a break from the DIS. I do it every now and then. I have stopped replying on most forums. I find I am much happier that way.

Looking forward to St. Augustine. We took a short lighthouse stop years ago but that was it. I really would like to make more side trips one day but with Jim refusing to take more than a week off for vacation there isn't enough time.

I just love looking at all these MK photos. There's just nothing quite like it. I often wonder how many people are completely unaware of the statue opening her eyes.

Oh GOD that close-up pic of Leota is bone chilling.

That's one of my new goals... to watch Wishes from a different location than Main Street. It'll be hard, but I need to try it.

I love the BB update...you see very little of the water parks in most TRs and Joe and I are always saying that we really need to visit one of them at some point in the near future, it just never seems to happen! I like the look of BB though so I think we might just get inspired for next trip!

I have a confession to make - I'm getting a little weary from DISing and when my computer crashed and I had to have my hard drive replace last week I almost considered giving up the DIS altogether. But I didn't and now I'm here with an update.

I completely understand that. Sometimes it does consume a little more time to keep up with everything than you'd like to spend on something that is just supposed to be a fun diversion from everyday life. But nonetheless, I'm glad you're back.

Now I could have sworn that Denny and I would have done something like ride the Peoplemover, but since I have no pictures of that we must not have. I think we may have checked out the wait at Space Mountain and then moved on. My next pictures are here.

I am so sorry to hear about your computer crash. What an incredible PITA!

It was, but it could have been worse. At least I still have applecare so the cost was completely free and exceeded what I paid for the apple care originally. I was backed up to where I am in this TR. I basically back up each day as I write about it. Clearly, I have to back up right away from now on!

Thanks. I did get a lot of face shots. I think its because I had my long lens. That worked out perfectly for the details.

I think its fun to watch the fireworks from behind the castle. Not nearly as great as in front of the castle, but still very enjoyable.

I totally agree. I absolutely love the fall decorations. I think they are my favorite MK decorations.

Exactly! Because the DIS is a lot of work and so is real life. I go through phases where I'm DIS heavy for several days or a week at a time and then I have other distractions. But the whole time I worry about how far behind I am getting and I'm almost afraid to try to catch up. Didn't help that Denny gave me a hard time about being on the computer all day yesterday.

You need to sneak your phone camera on around them so they don't know what you are doing. And you always have fun pictures so I don't know what you're taking about. You don't have to have ride pics to have fun pics. I always enjoy all your pictures!

They were all on memory cards but I had to sort through about 25 memory cards to actually find the right ones. I usually back up as I write the next update, but I need to do better than that from now on. Fortunately, everything else was already backed up so I lost a bunch of edits. Oh well - could have been a lot worse and the new hard drive was free with applecare.

Thanks! I love trying pictures on manual focus but I find that you need to switch back and forth while in that ride and I don't quite have the feel down in the dark. I need to remember to practice BEFORE I go on the ride so I can be more efficient.

Ugh, nobody can blame you for being reluctant to return to the DIS after losing all those pictures! I would have taken a break from the web, as well, while my computer was being repaired. Plus, I think everyone goes through phases on the DIS. Sometimes, we love being active, other times, we just need the break to catch up and enjoy real life for awhile. Totally understandable.


Besides, 3 weeks in between updates isn't that long in terms of my update time frame.



That really is a great time of day at MK. It's so nice to see the lights on attractions start to turn on, and with the sun having set, it's usually alittle cooler out.

Thunder Mtn at night is the best! And it can be so refreshing to enjoy the coasters rather than fight the Main Street madness.
