The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Nice wrap up..........I'm exhausted! :rotfl2:

I saw some cool memories! Some of them seem so long ago, I forgot they were on this particular trip........... :rolleyes1 :stir:

That was fantastic Mary Ellen, thank you for taking the time to put that together! Loved seeing all your pictures again :)

Thank you for the recap, Mary Ellen!
I really love to read your final thoughts and how you sum up all the firsts. :thumbsup2

Plus I just loved seeing all those photos. Thank you for taking us along for your awesome trip.

Hope there will be another one soon (and it should include a Disney vessel ;))

That is the beauty for those who visit WDW relatively often. There are always "firsts" still to be done. It's makes me laugh when people arrive back after their first trip and declare they "did it all... no need to go back". :rotfl2:

Obviously I particularly enjoyed your DISmeet recaps. :goodvibes

Now THAT is a recap. Wow. So cool to see all those wonderful pictures again. Thank you for sharing your lovely "Empty Nester" trip, and looking forward to many many more.

Great summary! Looking forward to the February report! Yes, with our winter last year it was a great time to get out of here.

Rebecca

Loved seeing all your pics again!!! The resort picture are incredible. I love that Lion King tile in the shower!

I can picture that a 12-day vacation could be tiring and overwhelming. Until it's day 13 and you're ready to go back already! Haha.

Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

Great trip wrap up! I loved seeing all your pics again,

Jill in CO

Thanks Jill! I always enjoy seeing my pics again because by the time I get to the end of a TR I can't remember what I've posted!

Talk about a wrap-up! That was spectacular Mary Ellen.

Thanks Kathy! It's always a lot of work to do that, but I really enjoy the end product! :thumbsup2

I so enjoyed seeing all those pictures again...they are spectacular. And I can certainly understand your favorite even if it wasn't a Disney photo.

Thanks! When I first posted that beach picture I liked it then and as soon as I saw it again I knew it was my fav. There's just something about it.

Sounds like a super trip except for being sick and tired at the end. Thanks, as always, for sharing with us. I can't wait to read about February.

It was a lovely trip and being sick and stressed has really faded into my mind. I could really forget about, but for accuracy the tale must me told. ::yes::

I'm looking forward to writing about February where you will be making a guest appearance!

Plenty of Porta potties as you go down the service road. Right after a bunch of people give up and use the side of the road. :lmao:

Are you serious? The lines are THAT long? So - what you are saying is, if you can wait until you start the run you will come across more porta potties. So - note to self - run down service road FIRST then take a bio break!

Denny should be able to see you at the start, get on the monorail to the TTC, make it in to MK and see you run in and then through the castle and then back to EPCOT for you to cross the finish line. Of course that depends on how fast you run. :lmao:

I'm sure he will beat me in both directions. I just can't imagine running through the castle. I hope I don't get bummed out after that for the long trip back. :confused3

Nice re-cap and final thoughts. I can relate to be away from home "enough" to want to be back home. One of my conference trip had "bookends" to Disney and by the end I was ready to be back in my bed. So much moving around and being out of a suitcase... I was ready.

I remember you writing about the trip. Didn't you stay up all night to catch your flight? :faint: That must have been exhausting and too much living out of a suitcase is just not good.

Nice to look through all your pictures again and see the trip in FF. :lmao:

Thanks! I enjoyed it myself - that is once the work was done. ::yes::
Looking forward to the Feb. Trip :thumbsup2 and May. Hopefully I can finish mine up and get to Aug.

What an awesome trip! You all looked like you had an amazing time. Thank you so much for sharing!

As always your wrap ups are awesome! This was a long trip! :thumbsup2 Gotta love long trips.

I kept seeing food throughout the update and kept saying "mmmmmmm" the whole time. LOL.

Great report and amazing wrap-up!

:worship:

Can't wait for the next report (when you are ready)

:yay:

So many great pictures!

And I'm really glad you finally made it to St. Augustine. Totally worth the visit! Looking forward to the new TR's!

Loved the recap and pictures! Thank you so much for writing this report...it was fun to follow-along. :)

Nice wrap up..........I'm exhausted! :rotfl2:

Me too! :rotfl2: At least I was when I finished that update. Phew!

I saw some cool memories! Some of them seem so long ago, I forgot they were on this particular trip........... :rolleyes1 :stir:

Are you insinuating that's its taken me FOREVER to finish this TR? :confused3 Well you're right - it HAS! ::yes::

That was fantastic Mary Ellen, thank you for taking the time to put that together! Loved seeing all your pictures again :)

Your welcome and thank you Pam! Glad you enjoyed my wrap up!

Thank you for the recap, Mary Ellen!
I really love to read your final thoughts and how you sum up all the firsts. :thumbsup2

Thanks Karin! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's a lot of work, but I always feel like its ends the trip on a high note!

TPlus I just loved seeing all those photos. Thank you for taking us along for your awesome trip.

You're welcome!

I forgot how many pictures I actually took. :rolleyes1

THope there will be another one soon (and it should include a Disney vessel ;))

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: I can't wait! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

That is the beauty for those who visit WDW relatively often. There are always "firsts" still to be done. It's makes me laugh when people arrive back after their first trip and declare they "did it all... no need to go back". :rotfl2:

Yeah - that's cray cray. Every single trip is a new experience for me. Each trip is different depending on whether its a family trip, couples trip, or girlfriend trip. Each is so much fun!

Obviously I particularly enjoyed your DISmeet recaps. :goodvibes

I  DISmeets! They are the best!

Now THAT is a recap. Wow. So cool to see all those wonderful pictures again. Thank you for sharing your lovely "Empty Nester" trip, and looking forward to many many more.

Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it. I had fun looking back through all my pics because the trip was so long ago. I got to relive it a second time.

Great summary! Looking forward to the February report! Yes, with our winter last year it was a great time to get out of here.

Rebecca

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

And you're not kidding about last year's winter. Now that its gotten cooler I am already worried about winter again. That is NOT good! :rotfl:

Loved seeing all your pics again!!! The resort picture are incredible. I love that Lion King tile in the shower!

Thanks!

Yes - the AKL is pretty incredible, as was the Boardwalk. I just love all the Disney resorts. I haven't found one yet that I didn't love! :good vibes

I can picture that a 12-day vacation could be tiring and overwhelming. Until it's day 13 and you're ready to go back already! Haha.

:rotfl2: Isn't that the truth. I'm usually ready to go back about 2 weeks after getting home. I always think I'll be good for awhile, but I never am. I go right back to Disney withdrawal. But don't we all? ::yes::

Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

I'll be writing something for February soon! :thumbsup2

What an awesome trip! You all looked like you had an amazing time. Thank you so much for sharing!

We really did have a great time despite a few ups & downs! It's a great time a year to visit and F&W is so awesome!

As always your wrap ups are awesome! This was a long trip! :thumbsup2 Gotta love long trips.

It's really nice to know you have so much time in the world and nothing needs to be rushed! I do love long trips, but I also think the perfect length for me is 8 nights. That why I get home to rest up after running myself ragged! :rotfl:

I kept seeing food throughout the update and kept saying "mmmmmmm" the whole time. LOL.

Hey - what is a trip report review without plenty of food porn? Would you expect anything else? :confused3:rotfl2:

Great report and amazing wrap-up!

:worship:

Thanks Dee! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. As always, it was a lot of fun to write!

Can't wait for the next report (when you are ready)

:yay:

I hope to start working on an update SOON!!!!! :cool1:

So many great pictures!

Thanks! It was fun trying to report some of the best!

And I'm really glad you finally made it to St. Augustine. Totally worth the visit! Looking forward to the new TR's!

I LOVED St. Augustine! It was a wonderful little side trip and I would go back in a heart beat! So fun!

I will be writing the first TR installment soon! :cheer2:

Loved the recap and pictures! Thank you so much for writing this report...it was fun to follow-along. :)

You're welcome! And thanks so much for following along and letting me steal your "parade O' pics" idea. I did steal that from you, didn't I?

Are you serious? The lines are THAT long? So - what you are saying is, if you can wait until you start the run you will come across more porta potties. So - note to self - run down service road FIRST then take a bio break!

Nah hardly anyone there. I think the road is long and some just gave up or thought they missed their chance back in the parking lot. So a bunch of mostly guys, probably just felt the need. The Porta potties were up ahead around the bend.

I'm sure he will beat me in both directions. I just can't imagine running through the castle. I hope I don't get bummed out after that for the long trip back. :confused3

It is fun and quick. By that time the crowd really spreads out so you are not bunched up.

I will admit the way back is less exciting than the way to the castle. But the people along the route and the bands so a really good job of keeping your mind off that part. :rotfl2:

I remember you writing about the trip. Didn't you stay up all night to catch your flight? :faint: That must have been exhausting and too much living out of a suitcase is just not good.

Good memory. Yes that was my trip with he Joel encounter, :rotfl2: and staying up to catch the 3 am ME for a 6am flight. :faint:
2 stays at POP, on either end and then 2 hotels in Houston. The one conference hotel was overbooked so I had the first night at a nearby hotel and a comped room and goodies for the inconvenience was okay. ;)

You're welcome! And thanks so much for following along and letting me steal your "parade O' pics" idea. I did steal that from you, didn't I?

I do that, yes, but I'm not sure who I stole it from -- I was thinking maybe you! :lmao:

Wow. What a trip wrap up. Parade of pictures doesn't even begin to describe it! :lmao: They were great pictures though. Thanks for sharing.

It seems like it was a wonderful trip, aside from some illness and work stress. It is a shame you had those downers come into play, but I'm glad that you were able to make the best of it and have a good time. One of these days, I really want to be able to take a 12 day trip and just get away from reality for a couple of weeks! :thumbsup2

Hi Mary Ellen - That was a great recap! I love your lists of "firsts". It is always fun to have some firsts on every trip.

F&W 2013

Seriously, who doesn’t love F&W? It’s the best and I’m happy that Denny got his first chance to visit during this time of year. If you have been thinking of visiting during F&W I have three words for you - JUST DO IT!!!!!
It was your trip with Cynthia for the F&W in 2012 that made me want to go see what F&W was all about. :goodvibes I have to see those chocolate sculptures, too.

Favorite Beverages

Eiffel Sour Cosmo Slush (Vodka, Grey Goose Cherry Noir, Grand Marnier, Cranberry Juice)
One word - YUM!
That does look delicious!
Did you make it to the Flower & Garden Show this year? It was where I had my first ever Grey Goose Slush - at France - so yummy. I had to go back almost every day for one. Now I hope they have another great version for F&W. The Grey Goose Slush was something I never knew about until the Dis. ;) Now it is on my "must have" list. :)

Kardenny on the Boardwalk

He was a hoot! Go see him! This guy has a great act!
We've stayed at the BC many times, eaten dinner at one of the Boardwalk restaurants many times, and have never yet seen the performers. We must be there too early. We'll be at the YC next week, with some open evenings, so maybe we'll get lucky this time.

Halloween at the World

I absolutely LOVE the decorations in the MK during this time of year and I can’t wait to attend MNSSHP a month from now!

We're looking forward to seeing the Halloween decorations, too. And I'm almost ready to buy tickets for our first ever (see, another first ;) ) Halloween Party. I'd also like to see the decorations over at Fort Wilderness. I've heard that some of the campsites really go all out with Halloween decorations. :)

We'll see you next month. It should be a fun trip. :)

Nah hardly anyone there. I think the road is long and some just gave up or thought they missed their chance back in the parking lot. So a bunch of mostly guys, probably just felt the need. The Porta potties were up ahead around the bend.

Good to know! ::yes::

It is fun and quick. By that time the crowd really spreads out so you are not bunched up.

Cool!

I will admit the way back is less exciting than the way to the castle. But the people along the route and the bands so a really good job of keeping your mind off that part. :rotfl2:

That's what I want to hear. I'm all about distractions. I am really worried that I am going to need that.

Good memory. Yes that was my trip with he Joel encounter, :rotfl2: and staying up to catch the 3 am ME for a 6am flight. :faint:
2 stays at POP, on either end and then 2 hotels in Houston. The one conference hotel was overbooked so I had the first night at a nearby hotel and a comped room and goodies for the inconvenience was okay. ;)

I remember you ended up in a really nice hotel. OMG - I would have died if I had been up all night and there was no place to sleep. That really couldn't have worked out better!

I do that, yes, but I'm not sure who I stole it from -- I was thinking maybe you! :lmao:

Wasn't me. Does that mean we BOTH stole it???? :confused3 Oops! :rotfl:

Wow. What a trip wrap up. Parade of pictures doesn't even begin to describe it! :lmao: They were great pictures though. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed! I always like to do a renew to sum it all up. It's part of the fun!

It seems like it was a wonderful trip, aside from some illness and work stress. It is a shame you had those downers come into play, but I'm glad that you were able to make the best of it and have a good time. One of these days, I really want to be able to take a 12 day trip and just get away from reality for a couple of weeks! :thumbsup2

That is one of the longest trips I have had ever. It was really crazy to completely loose tract of time. And it was fun to leave the bubble for bit and then restart the trip.
