The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Yay! for another trip to read about! This one sounds very interesting. That carriage house sounds wonderful. I love VRBO - we've used them a couple of times for cabins in the Smoky Mountain area.

I'm excited about your new TR. We did an "escape the cold" trip last January. :)

I can't wait to read about the Tampa portion. I always learn a lot about the area from your reports. :)

Mary Ellen, I'm looking forward to hearing all about your quick trip. After working so hard, you deserved the trip.

My brother in law and his family have stayed at All Stars Sports before and they really liked it. They are all sports fanatic and the theming was just what they were looking for.

Yay, I'm really looking forward to hearing about your Tampa experience! as someone who calls the Gulf Coast her home, I always enjoy hearing what other people think of the place. :goodvibes

Checking in at midnight after a workday AND a flight? :faint: Rough stuff!

Oh man, this winter was brutal. We left with really cold weather and came home to several inches of snow on the ground. That is definitely a rude awakening when you come back from Florida.

Can't wait to read this report!

I am here. Good start and sounds like you locked in an excellent adventure!

And of course I totally agree with you regarding the Maryland flag!!

Rebecca

I started rethinking the whole two different airport thing. Then the VRBO owner contacted me and offered Monday night for $85.

Seriously?

I couldn’t get a parking space for $85.

As many of you know we had a crazy cold winter. We don’t normally get much snow here in Delaware, but this winter was an exception. I can’t tell you how many snow days we had because I don’t have small kids.

It was around 73 or so, give or take. :faint:

I just know it snowed a lot, even if the overall quantity was not much. You know - just enough to clear all the bread and milk off the shelves and make people panic.

How are you going to survive a snowstorm without french toast?:confused3

This picture is entirely representation of the small of amount of snow that we get in Delaware. Those of you that get “real” snow can laugh now!

We get one of those "real" storms every once in a while. But yes, usually we panic.

We actually made great time and were soon in the tunnel. We decided to go down 95 and take our chances with potential rush hour traffic.

Score.

No traffic whatsoever!

Nice!

It if fair to say that I have an obsession with the Maryland State Flag. It is seriously the BEST flag in the nation. Hands Down! Sorry if you disagree!

It is striking, and the fact that it is a coat-of-arms is pretty cool. However, I think we can all agree that it should not be made into a football uniform:

YAY for a Feb Trip quickie...

Funny how not knowing when your next trip is, or when you feel it is too far away makes you look at squeezing another one in. :rotfl2:

Great job in sticking with it and making it work.

I have done that skid into vacation before and man you really appreciate the get away when you have to do that. Hate the days leading up to it and hate the days coming back but love the vacation. :)

Looking forward to hearing all about it. I lived in Clearwater for about a year right after college.

Yeah, I definitely don't blame you for wanting to plan another trip after returning to 11 days of work.

The plans look good. Nothing wrong with All Star Sports... a room at Disney World is still a room at Disney World! And anything to make it budget friendly is a big plus.

Looking forward to seeing how this carriage house thing works out for you too.

Awesome report! Great wrap up too. You got so many nice pics.

We leave for our trip on Thursday! :yay: Can't wait, My last day of work was yesterday but I have a staff meeting tomorrow that I couldn't avoid since it is also a mandatory HIPAA/Corporate Compliance training (yearly educational thing that we used to do online or "self tests" but has to be live for some reason this year)

Going back now to read the new TR..

Great start! Sounds like it was in interesting trip, can't wait to read all about it!

Great start! Except for the lack of sleep the night before :(

All those changes had my head spinning, I had to reread it several times  was the rental car a better price with the same airport?

That was a terrible winter. And somehow people here have forgotten and say this year is going to be terrible :faint:

Yay for your new TR!

Ugh what's up with our stomach issues?! I get the exact same way when I stress out too.:headache:

Looking forward to your next update :)

I'm here! I'm here!

Now back to read.

:goodvibes

OK- caught up.

:cool1::thumbsup2 :welcome: back Dee!

What a fantastic start. With all of the research and changes you made leading up to the trip, I thought I was reading one of Cynthia's reports! And of course I mean that with all due respect to both of you!

:worship:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: I felt a little bit like Cynthia when I was writing it. However, I think Cynthia's writing and explanations are fairly clear. I was actually confusing myself.

:rolleyes1

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the trip that you ended up with! Can't wait to hear all about it. Awesome quickie trip.

It was a really fun trip! I loved that we were able to fit this in! :thumbsup2

I am also intrigued by the guy you photographed. Is he wearing a suit along with his KC hat? Your flight was neither coming from or going to KC. Hmmmm...

I know. Hmmmmmm...... He stood up there for the longest time. Then he finally sat right before the plane departed. I think Air Marshals are supposed to be pretty inconspicuous, so my theory is probably wrong. It was just weird.

Love your pictures of MCO- especially the faux-no-rail and the closeup of the lamp post bulbs. Very cool shots.

Thanks! :)

I'll be at All Star Movies in June, with Ben's class trip.

:thumbsup2

Really? Class trip again? What are your dates? There is a slim chance that we may be int he world during early June.

Those snow pics make me so happy we don't have a Michigan winter to be dreading this year. Last winter was brutal so I totally get the need to "escape"!

:welcome: back Dawn!!!!!

You are SO lucky!:woohoo: I literally dread winter and so do a lot of people. And I have no doubt that your winters in Michigan were much worse than anything we have here.

Looking forward to hearing about your vacation :goodvibes

It was a fun vacation. It was neat to see some other areas in Florida. It's a great state to explore.

Great start! I agree with you about the Maryland flag, but I'm a little biased... :goodvibes

:welcome: back Denise!

Biased or not, it really is such a cool flag. I just bought of those crab decals with the Maryland Flag in it. I saw a wine glass with that logo in St. Michaels and I should have bought it. It was pretty cool. And I love the Maryland flag wind socks. I guess because I live so close to Maryland that I feel like its my flag too!
