What's the easiest way to go from AK to HS?

From HS - MK?

From AK - MK?

The easiest way is by car, but I'm sure you wouldn't be asking if you had a car.
The next fastest would be by taxi, the cheapest and most time consuming is Disney buses.
Going from park to park by bus just takes time, going from resort to resort is a whole different story.

Thanks for your replies. You're right no car. My daughter and boyfriend are 20 and 21 so they will be using disney transportation.

They will be arriving January 10, any idea of how long it will take to go to three parks I mentioned above using the bus so she can plan the trip accordingly, an hour? less?

More specifically, if she's at AK and needs to get to HS by 4:45pm what time should she leave AK?

and again from HS or AK going to MK in time to catch the 3pm parade how much time should she allot for bus travel?

Thanks so much!!!!

Do either of them have an iphone, ipad or an itouch? If so, download a lttle program called "TWiz".

I think it's free, and it calculates all kinds of options with est. times.

All Busses go Park to Park!

Busses to Magic Kingdom no langer stop at TTC they go strait to the park and drop off to the left of the Enterance!

They should allow about 45min to an hour going park to park in case they miss the bus and have to wait for the next one.

I can understand maybe leaving a Park for a meal else where, but not just to see a parade! Are they only going to be there a couple of days? Must people plan seeing the parade the day that they are in that Park!

Always allow a min 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get anywhere by bus, if you make it sooner great, it will all depend on how long you have to wait for the bus (which can easily be up to 1/2 hour or more) and how many stops the bus may make. The actual travel distances are not that far, for example it's only a 7.5 mi trip from MK to AK, I'm not sure which route the buses take, but it can't be any shorter.

They're going to be there 7 days at a disney resort but 3 of those days they're going to IOA/Universal. My daughter is a big Harry Potter fan.

The only way for them to see Fantasmic is if they go from AK to HS as Fantasmic is not shown that often the week they are there (In January)

As far as the parade at MK, they will see the parade and spend the rest of the time in MK as it closes at 1am that night so they hope to catch the parade, see the electric parade and have dinner at the Crystal Palace.

So if I'm understanding correctly, they can take a bus from HS or AK and it will take them directly to MK is this correct?

No, all buses to the MK from another park actually go to the TTC, where a transfer to the Monorail or Ferryboat is required. Only buses from resorts go directly to the MK.

AK to DHS is a 12 minute trip, and the bus runs every 15 minutes. Leaving AK around 4 p.m., there's a possibility the first bus could be full, so allow 45 minutes. But with Fantasmic! running only 2 or 3 days a week, they need to arrive at the theater 90 minutes before show time, unless they get the Fantasmic! dining package.

Travel time DHS to MK should be about 45-60 minutes, including transfers and wait times. But right after Fantasmic! or just before a nighttime parade at the MK, it may take longer due to crowds. That doesn't include time to get thru the turnstiles and find a spot to watch the parade.

If the line for the TTC bus at DHS is long, an alternative is to take the bus to Contemporary Resort and walk to the MK. The Contemporay bus stop is right next to the TTC bus stop at DHS, so it's easy to jump out of line and run to the Contemporary stop if they see a bus coming up and it looks like it won't fill up.

I don't believe the monorail goes to the Hollywood Studios. :confused3

That is correct, the Monorail does not go to DHS.
The advice you are referring to stated that you should go from DHS to the TTC and then get the Monorail at the TTC

Look, Joekfl & Duffy, I do not know when the last time you were at WDW but all Internal Disney Busses drop off directly at the Magic Kingdom!

What's the easiest way to go from AK to HS?

Direct Bus

From HS - MK?

Bus to Contemporary, then short walk.

From AK - MK?

Bus to Contemporary, then short walk

Hope this helps.

ONLY the buses from the RESORTS to Magic Kingdom, drop directly at Magic Kingdom.

The bus from the Studios goes to the TTC, then you have to take the monorail or ferry to MK.

The bus from Animal Kingdom goes to the TTC, then you have to take the monorail or ferry to MK.

They HAVE to send a bus from Studios and Animal Kingdom to the TTC because most of the off property shuttles and the Lynx City bus service have their dropoff at the TTC. So, you can get to ANY Disney Park from the TTC.

FYI - I was there Labor Day Weekend and it was still the case then!!!
