The Earls meet the Princesses:A June PTR *6/13 WE LEAVE IN THE MORNING!*

LL - I didn't know you had a cat named Sully! :thumbsup2

Love the countdown calendar! I have a baggalini (periwinkle) and I really like the color of your MIL's. But, I'll be an enabler too and say go for a bag you really love. ;)

You? Enabler? Never!:rolleyes1:rotfl: I tend to carry way more than I probably need in my purse, but I like to be prepared.;) Maybe George will carry some of my stuff in the camera bag and then I'll be able to have the coveted dot bag. Then there are the shoes...:rolleyes1:rotfl:
I like to be prepared too. My biggest debate right now is the poncho. Do I bring it? :confused3

I do! :goodvibes

[COLOR="Purple" Madeline actually doesn't wear glasses anymore. In first grade she was diagnosed with amblyopia. One eye was extremely farsighted, which is uncommon in children. She had prescription glasses to correct for the farsightedness in her eye and a patch to wear over the other eye so that the farsighted eye could regain its ability to see at a distance. The patch had to be worn a ton, including time at WDW, because she was already 7 when she was diagnosed, but it worked. Her vision is about 20/30 and surprisingly, she's outgrown the farsightedness.:confused3
I have amblyopia and so do my mother and sister. My sister is the only one who had to wear a patch. We both got treated by great docs very early and we both only wear reading glasses now. My moms was not caught properly and she is legally blind without her glasses. My eyes used to actually cross. The patch my sister had to wear was waaay worse than they are now. She had to wear it all but 30 minutes of awake time. It was a large bandage that went on her skin. People thought she had lost her eye. And after that she had to wear glasses for 4 years that had a foggy patch on the lens. It was way better but still not great. But fortunately it worked and she is great. Luckily my kids show no signs of it. I get their eyes checked every 6 months because of the heredity.
George-hasn't had new shorts for a few years because he doesn't buy anything for himself. I'll have to pick them up for him. Any store suggestions?

I also printed out a ton of stuff on photopass from the stitchinkingdom site. I'm in a photopass share this trip. Last trip we got NO photopass pictures taken so I'm anxious to try this out in June. Any tips?

Finally, I was inspired by LL's bag decision '09 to take a look at my bag options. I use a hipster as a daily bag, but I just don't think it's quite big enough to be my primary park bag. I mentioned to my MIL that her new Bagallini was the type I was considering for my Disney bag and she offered to let me take it. I tried to decline but she was adamant, so I took it. Here's the rub: I don't really like it.:confused3 Honestly, I still have to try it out but the aesthetics of it are just, eh. Here it is:
Now, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and free is definitely a good price and I certainly don't want to offend her, but I just don't know. Maybe it will grow on me if I use it around town and like how it works.:confused3 Or maybe I'm just trying to rationalize purchasing that very cute bag that LL posted that matches my tennies.:rolleyes1

You and CP inspired me to just go ahead and order some clothes for Tom. I got him swim trunks and two pairs of shorts form JC Penney. He won't wear shirts from there so he is on his own with shirts for summer. I'm not feeling the baggalinis either. I see why they are popular but they just don't do it for me. I ordered the mini hipster. Since we will have the baby Tom will carry a regular backpack and I will have the mini hipster for cellphone and KTTW and sunscreen and that is about all it will hold I believe. I say get the cute bag because otherwise you may buy a very expensive in park purchase of something you may never use again.

Madeline's first patch was a bandaid type and it actually ripped out a couple of lashes. Luckily, we found some cute ones that slipped over the lens. I was so happy to finally be able to see both of her pretty eyes when she was done with the patching.:goodvibes

How big is it? The dollar store or Walmart camping section ponchos are pretty small and are pretty smooshy. I plan on bringing enough for all of us every day, but it rains frequently in June.

Sorry my replies are so out of order.:upsidedow

Spring fever! Cleaning, sorting, shopping, organizing!

I feel like I have accomplished so much just listening to you all!

Seriously. I am slowly picking up steam! I mulched all day. And I bought crocs!

Mulching somehow keeps getting pushed to the bottom of my to do list.:rolleyes1 What kind of crocs did you buy?

I have the Disney Poncho. I bought one after it rained horribly our first day and ruined our dollar store ones. Then....I didn't need to use it for the rest of the trip. :rotfl:

Us too! We have one -- DH refuses to wear a poncho He'd rather be wet and manly I guess and carry an umbrella than wear the poncho. But I totally used it to wrap the kids up before Kali River in Nov! DS's have small light rain jackets, which smoosh up smaller than the ponchos and dry quickly. That plus the big plastic bubble for the "comand center" stroller!

Yeah, I know, me too, but I like digging in the dirt so, that was my big weekend job, that and sitting on my patio with a glass of wine!! :goodvibes

Just the regular "classics" for the boys -- I don't wear them, but they needed new ones... ;)

Yes, I know the official name for this park is Disney's Hollywood Studios, but in 2005 it was still MGM. This is the park I feel we saw the least at. Our first day at MGM was actually an EMH evening. We headed over in the pouring rain to do a couple of rides and see Fantasmic. I don't have a single picture from that night, because of the combination of rain and darkness. Luckily, the rain stopped in time and Fantasmic wasn't cancelled and the show was amazing! The only other thing we experienced that night was Muppet Vision 3D which we all enjoyed.

Our next planned day to visit MGM I had hoped to get us up for rope drop but EMH at the MK the night before kept us out very late and nobody was in any shape to head to the park early. We made it to MGM in time for our lunch ADR at Sci Fi. Here's the picture our server took for us:

Can you tell by her pose that Amelia was freezing? She actually ended up in my lap for some mommy heat before the meal was over. It made eating my meal really easy.

Here are a few more pictures from that day.

I think this is near Star Tours.

I think my daughter is Incredible!

I've got one more MGM photo plus a few night time MK photos I wanted to add to this post, but photobucket is being disobedient right now. Next post after DHS: Looking Forward will have to be a photo hodgepodge.

Hi there - I am new to the boards and just found your report. We are going to be there at the same time as you, so it has been fun reading about all of your planning. You actually have inspired me to consider writing a pre-trip report myself, since it's so nice to have all of your info in one place.

All of your plans look great so far. You know what is funny is that I was comparing your itenerary to mine and we only overlap parks on one day (AK). I just think it's so funny how much time & planning goes into these trips and even when visiting at the same time, everyone comes out with a different plan. :) Thanks for all of the great pictures!

Hello and :welcome: Writing this trip report has been much more fun than I even anticipated and you're right, it is so nice to have everything in one spot. If you start one, let me know and I'm there.:thumbsup2

Too funny about park days. This trip I've relied on info from TGM, which pretty much precludes any EMH days anywhere. We'll see how that works out.

I'm looking forward to trying lots of new things at this park. I don't think we had time to really get the feel of the place, let alone the lay of the land. Please chime in with any favorites we should try.

Rides

Toy Story Midway Mania--can't wait!!!!
RockinRollerCoaster--not for me, but a must do for George and Madeline
Tower of Terror--again, not for this chicken, but George and Madeline want to try it this trip
Star Tours--looking forward to playing Star Wars again

Events

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular--missed this last trip
Voyage of the Little Mermaid--really enjoyed this last time although I may or may not have nodded off...:rolleyes1
Muppet Vision 3D--loved all the 3D shows, including this one
Lights, Motor, Action--George will love this one
Beauty and the Beast--Hoping to get some better seats this time
The Magic of Disney Animation--This was a nice place to slow down a little.
Fantasmic--we loved this show last trip, but the limited showings have me spooked. We're planning on going, but will bail if the crowds are scary big.

Food

Spicy cheese filled pretzel--yummy!
Popcorn--it just feels like popcorn should be purchased here, you know?

Souvenires

??--Everyone is looking forward to the Star Wars store

Other

I want pictures with the Singin in the Rain umbrella. I'm embarassed to say that it wasn't until this year that I finally watched Singin' in the Rain.:sad2:

We'd like to meet Sorcerer Mickey and the Toy Story gang.

What did I miss?

Oh, I forgot the Singin' in the Rain umbrella! I need to add that to my list!!! :thumbsup2

I am too much of a chicken to ride ToT or RNRC, also!!! :lmao:

One Man's Dream....?? :rolleyes1

The Singing In the Rain Umbrella is so much fun! You know how to make it rain, right?

I am looking forward to DHS too! I think your list looks good -- Did you skip the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area for a reason? You know the first time we went there (with only one DS) I enjoyed it. The second time this past Nov with TWO kids was not so enjoyable  IT was ubber crowded (it may have been the time?) but trying to keep my eyes on them (just worried someone would fall or break a bone!) among the other kid chaos in there was a little stressful... I think maybe when it is less crowded would have been better --not sure about the "when" -- I guess your older DD might not really get into this one now?

I am a fraud!!! I think of myself as this big Disney expert. I give advice all the time. People ask my opinion. I am a fraud!!:scared1:

What is the singin' in the rain umbrella? Where is it??? How do you make it rain??

I won't sleep until I know.

OK I'm overreacting, but I really don't know.:lmao:
