The Earls meet the Princesses:A June PTR *6/13 WE LEAVE IN THE MORNING!*

Oh, I forgot the Singin' in the Rain umbrella! I need to add that to my list!!! :thumbsup2

I am too much of a chicken to ride ToT or RNRC, also!!! :lmao:
Chicken riders of the world, unite!:rotfl:
One Man's Dream....?? :rolleyes1
Did I really forget that one in the span of an hour?:rolleyes1One Man's Dream? Check!!
The Singing In the Rain Umbrella is so much fun! You know how to make it rain, right?
Doncha push the button on the umbrella?

I am looking forward to DHS too! I think your list looks good -- Did you skip the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area for a reason? You know the first time we went there (with only one DS) I enjoyed it. The second time this past Nov with TWO kids was not so enjoyable  IT was ubber crowded (it may have been the time?) but trying to keep my eyes on them (just worried someone would fall or break a bone!) among the other kid chaos in there was a little stressful... I think maybe when it is less crowded would have been better --not sure about the "when" -- I guess your older DD might not really get into this one now?
I'm really like to see it since we all enjoy the movie. It looks like great theming. We may save it for a down time if we need it? Madeline is very playful and silly so she'd probably like it the most.:lmao:

I am a fraud!!! I think of myself as this big Disney expert. I give advice all the time. People ask my opinion. I am a fraud!!:scared1:
:lmao:
What is the singin' in the rain umbrella? Where is it??? How do you make it rain??
It's on the Streets of America attached to a lamp post and I think you push a button(?) to make it rain.
I won't sleep until I know.

OK I'm overreacting, but I really don't know.:lmao:

No worries.:goodvibes I can't believe how much I've learned on these boards that I'd never heard of before. Did you get your maps to go through yet?

Not yet, but I haven't tried yet today. I may have to call.

Thanks for the help with the umbrella.

I think your plan for DHS looks great. That is my DD16 and DH's favorite park. I like Sounds Dangerous. Talk about a place for a nap!!;)

Greata pictures and your list looks good. :thumbsup2

I'm still bummed that I haven't seen Fantasmic. I just hear so much talk about how long you have to wait in line - just don't know if we can bring ourselves to do it. :rotfl:

I think we got spoiled last trip. The rain was coming down pretty hard until about 90 minutes before the show. We didn't get into line until about 20 min. before they let people in and still got decent seats. I don't think it sounds like that will be the situation this year.:sad2:

Oi, what do I do about a stroller? I know Ian will need one at least some of the time. I'm sure for Epcot and AK, and probably MK if we stay later, so 5 days out of 8 at least. We have an Inglessina Zippy, which is a full sized stroller, but DH says no way to dealing with it on the buses and getting it into the car would be a challenge. On the plus side? FREE

Renting a single at Disney as needed is $15/day and we wouldn't have the headache of dealing with it on the bus, but even with a multi day discount we'll pay at least $65 (5 days x $13) and have to deal with picking up the stroller each time we're in the park.

Buying a Maclaren Volo on ebay would cost me $70 w/free shipping. We'd have to deal with it on the bus, but it looks like it's the size of an umbrella stroller so would fold up small and light. Con? We'll probably never use it again.

I was signed up for a stroller swap for my dates but at this time the stroller is missing.:scared1: I'm beginning to feel like this is not an option I should depend on and I'm panicking. I need SERENITY NOW! (For any Seinfeld fans out there) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:flower3:

Not that I have any experience with strollers...BUT what if you after your trip, you sold it on ebay again? Or even craigslist? I bet you could get most of your money back....?? :confused3

I love Seinfeld. One of the greatest TV shows ever. :thumbsup2

That's an idea. The Craigslist in our area is pretty lame, but maybe I could get someone to list it for me on ebay? I've never listed anything before. Is it pretty easy?

Personally? I'd just wait and if you get there and the swap stroller is still missing then rent the one from Disney. I know it's pricey, but they're so easy and convenient.

try consignment shops in the area. We have an awesome chico. It is tall and sturdy like the maclaren and also the size of an umbrella stroller. And it is a little cheaper. And a little cheaper than that is the jeep stroller which is not quite as tall but still pretty sturdy.

Are you sure you wouldn't use it again? I have to say, we brought ours to WDW in Nov. Our double stroller, and I did because I knew my DS6 would get tired, and I knew where he was and when he needed to sit, he could. It also helped us to navigate crowds. We have continued to bring it on all our big trips b/c it has given him a place to rest and we could account for him. In crowded places, it helped. We have had it since he was 3. It is a Maclaren double. In the evening at the parks in Nov, I know he appreciated having a place to be. Are there other strollers to consider? Maclaren has another umbrella style with a visor... if that isn't an issue, then I would look for something easy and inexpensive and small... My kids are both active and love to run and play, but I was glad I had it. We are in serious discussions about bringing it this trip... We just don't know how they are going to do in the heat and the crowds, etc. There have been many posts and discussions I have read about the issue, and the age issue and bringing a stroller for older not quite old kids.... it did make sense for us.

I guess I said that because we probably won't be taking any big trips for the next couple of years, only the Christmas trip to Sanibel Island when we're on the beach the whole week so don't use a stroller and an odd long weekend in Chicago where we actually might use it. I definitely think a stroller for those in between kids in WDW, especially in the heat of the summer, is a decent idea. We used a rented double for the girls in June of '05 and they were 5 and 7. Worked great for when they were dragging. Do you know what the other Maclaren is called? I was just looking at the Volo because its a larger umbrella stroller.

I think it is called the Triumph or the Quest. Actually they have both of those... not sure which is the next step up from Volo -- I think it is the Triumph. We have the Quest single. The volo is good, but we went with the Quest b/c it reclined and b/c it had the shade/visor.... You might be able to get one from off-season, or elsewise on discount... SO you know what I am saying, with 5 and 7, and that is what we will have, but 4 & 7.

Thanks for the input everyone. I posed the issue to George along with others suggestions and my own thoughts, and he looked at me like I had a big 'ol third head growing out of my neck. Guess he felt more strongly about having a stroller on the bus than I realized. His actual words were "It's a no brainer. I'd rather pay more for the convenience of not having to deal with a stroller on the bus so let's just rent one." :scared1: Who is this man and what has he done with my frugal husband? I'm still hoping that the swap stroller shows up and I'm kind of coveting that Maclaren now that hubby said "no", but since he rarely has a strong opinion on any of our Disney plans I guess I should defer to this wish. Rental it is.

Oh, and guess what? 40 Days until Disney!!!

Hurray for 40 days!!! :woohoo:

It never ceases to amaze me when Charles has a strong opinion about something Disney-related. I am glad that George was able to settle your dilemma for you.
