Just wondering, did you try using various bras to see if it helped smooth out the gap?
The style of the Dalmatian's dress reminds me of the Mickey Mouse Through the Years dress and for me there was no gap.

I think your belt looks perfectly fine.

I haven’t tried it yet. I’m thinking it’ll probably help. I’ve been working a lot outdoors so I’ve been too yucky to go near my dresses lately.
Either way, it’s not too big of a gap so it’s not a deal breaker, just thought it was a bit odd.

Yeah, I agree. I do like the thought of it, just not huge on the color. I’m going this weekend so I may or may not end up getting it. LOL

I like the colors, but maybe a less busy pattern? I definitely like the style of it.
