And a little bit of warning about the cute bow belts from amazon...the color will bleed if it gets wet. I belted one of my dresses today at Epcot. Then the rains came. Now I have a stained dress. Not a huge deal because I always belt this dress, but still thought I should warn y’all.

I have issues with red and black items, it doesn't matter if it's old or new so I create separate piles for them prior to washing. I turn everything inside out, use cold water and set the washer on medium or gentle. For smaller items like your belt, I put them in small mesh laundry bags.

I read adding salt or vinegar to the rinse cycle can protect your items from bleeding. I've not tried this as my washer cannot be shut down between the wash and rinse cycle. You can also do this when hand washing. I think I'll try that with my red Wacoal bra, it ALWAYS bleeds.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out for sure! It usually takes a month before anyone gets their red clothing back at my house. Seriously though, I don't use my machine for a few pieces of clothing., right?!?!
