DREAM ver. 1_0:

Approx 3680 rooms total

Don't sweat the views at this point and ignore the fact that the rooms are not scaled perfectly. Yes I know there are sidewalks and some other infrastructure missing too. Give me a break on the little things.

Outer red ring=Value priced/sized rooms- 3 floors

Yellow ring=New type of room with a value size on the outside and a mid-size on the inner part of the yellow ring. These would allow for 2/3 bedroom situations with lock-offs to the outer ring from the inner ring. Let someone else figure out the wet wall plumbing issues.-2 floors or 3 floors (I calculated it with 2)

Bright green ring=Deluxe sized rooms with multiple lock off combinations to each other. Shared courtyard with Deluxe+ rooms.- 2 floors with vaulted ceilings and balconies and whatever.

Purple buildings=Deluxe+ I'll leave that description up to you.

Blue= water

Dark green=landscaping or lawn or whatever

Grey=Infrastructure or sidewalks or whatever

Black=common areas (to be filled in later)

So what is good and what is bad? Don't bash me too much.

The whole concept is interesting. I know you said not to sweat the view, but my initial reaction is that the outer ring should not be a walkway (unless this is only a one story complex), but rooms with a view, and as such, they would be priced higher. It seems to me that the lowest priced rooms would be the ones in the middle. If you look at the current rooms around Disney, the thing they seem most able to charge for is "view".

If the building is 5 or 6 stories, it could have a sort of contemporary feel to it, with the monorail going through (that's what I thought the thicker gray was at first glance).

I note the "moat" separating the deluxe rooms from the rest of the resort.

The inner rooms were more on the view theme of the boardwalk view and also to place them in the vicinity of the center service circle. The outer rooms were more of a "suburb" view of trees or partial parking lot views. Since the outer rooms are closer to the parking lots, they would be more like the budget resorts of today while the inner rooms would service the "valet" folks.

The "moat" was more for transportation and added water views than segregation.

I'm still up in the air about a theme.

Was thinking "Venice", but Vegas already did that.

I didn't even think of a monorail to tell you the truth. The wide grey line was there for drive-thru check-in but why not add the monorail too

I sort of like the 6 story outer ring idea. It would make it sort of a coliseum bowl shape. Most views would be of the "city" and pretty good. Problem there would be the flat Florida swamp land.

BTW, the idea isn't new, it's Walt's basic EPCOT shape that never was.

Given what may be the sheer size of this resort, why don't you consider some sort of monorail, train, moving floor, etc... as one of the rings to assist people moving about the resort.

One word:

Too expensive

Boats and a moat are cheaper (at least I'm assuming they are cheaper), they give another water view and are quieter.

I'm also guessing that they will help with drainage.

I think the Roman Coluseum is the perfect themeing for this one. The value resort rooms could actually be underneath the middle court area

Honestly though, If you used the outside ring as the tallest and "Deluxe" using stores and services where the view stunk they could have penthouses, rooftop pools etc. Then a middle ring that was lower as moderate with the inner being value. Or the value could be the lower floors. Value "views" would be of the coutyards in between the buildings like they do now.

Transportation... I think you'll have to have special transportation for the deluxe guests. The bus station could actually run underneath for us "rabble".

Don't let my lack of drawing skills scare you away. A space station can be a warm and comforting place.
