Poll coming... which one resembles your feelings most?

I love the Olympics... the SUMMER Olympics. Sorry, but I simply cannot relate to most of the Winter sports... no surprise to me that there are practlcally no people of "color" there! The only sport I like is the figure skating and this year not one of the competitors are that interesting... I think I'll just listen to the Today coverage.

I like both summer and winter. Event for event, there are more things I enjoy in the winter games.

I like both summer and winter Olympics, though I tend to watch the winter ones more. I don't find much to interest me on TV, and the Olympics do hold my interest. In the summer, it is too nice outside to stay inside and watch TV. I find myself squeezing DH's hand when the winter competitions are on, hoping for my favorites to win. I guess the fact that I do ski, and am interested in snowboarding, helps to hold my interest. Skating is OK, and I just don't understand the interst in the luge, etc.

They're ok. The coverage isn't great. Stop stretching it out. Saw a few pairs skaters tonight, when are they showing the rest of it. Same thing with the Men's 500M speed skate. Still haven't seen the final heat yet.

Yes it was a serious question. If you enjoy watching sports, it's not about the colour of the athletes that compete.

To me your statement implied that you are not all that interested in watching because of the lack of presence of black athletes. That is like me saying I don't watch basketball because of the relatively few white athletes.

It is not about the colour of your skin but the competition and dedication of the athletes; whether they be amateur, professional or recreational sport.

I have no interest in the Olympics anymore, as the athletes are either on "steroids" or some other drug to enhance thier performance, or the judges are biased.

I LOVE the Olympics. If I could have one dream in my life it would be to stand on the podium and listen to my anthem as a gold medal winner in the Olympics. I prefer the Summer games a little bit more, but enjoy watching the Winter ones as well.

Obviously, since I'm a member of this board, I don't have just an interest all things that only AAs do. I'm not that limited. My point was simply that the sports are not oriented to MY tastes.

Point well taken, I was reading it the other way. It seemed that you were saying that it wasn't interesting because of the lack of African Americans.

I can't agree with the part saying they aren't a big deal - I do believe they are a big deal.

I just don't get into watching them.
