Daxx's Wife here. Both Daxx and I love Vegas! We are not gamblers by any stretch of the imagination ... we just love to go to people watch, rest and relax! Great fun to run into Elvis at the Gas 'n Sip! I love sitting by the pool all day and visiting the different hotels and watching the high rollers!

Seriously, if we spend $25 a night gambling, that's a lot for us!!!!

I love the fact you can walk around and shop while drinking alcoholic beverages.

This time last week I was walking the strip with a giant margarita :cool1:

I got back from Vegas a few days ago and I love it there!!!! It was DH's first time there and he already wants to go back.!

Hate it but I have to go every year for the ACMs (last year they were at Mandalay Bay and this year at the MGM Grand). I don't drink or enjoy nightclubs and I can't stand smoky casinos so Vegas really isn't my kind of town.

Vegas is great! Not crazy about the smoke but other than that...

I LOVE the porn peddlers...Last time there I would collect a few then when the next one would 'snap and push' the ad toward me I'd do it right back...Some of them were quite surprised! LOL! :lmao:

We're not huge gamblers either, myber 250-500 for a three day visit (sometimes less, never more) but the shows, the excitement, the lights are just invigorating for short periods.

Been there. Hate it. Do not shop or gamble and there are no hidden mickeys. Even the entertainment pales.

My DH and I went to Vegas for our first time this past January. We were there for a work conference. Just think about 6,000 engineers taking over Caesar's! We actually got there two days early so that we could see Vegas on our own. Truthfully I thought it was expensive and just ok. It was nice to see but I wouldn't make a special trip back. We did see an "adult" show that we really enjoyed. I have no problem with Vegas marketing itself as an adult vacation. There are plenty of things to do in Vegas if you don't like the "adult" stuff.

I love the fact that it's not family friendly. I love the fact that you can walk around and be "adult" without having to worry about saying something "inappropriate" infront of a child.

I love the fact that you can smoke in the casinos if you want but you can't really tell there is smoking going on if you don't look for it.

1. You can swear at home without having to spend a ton of money
2. WHO can't tell there's smoking going on? I can! It stinks up my hair and my clothes. It makes my throat dry and sore in the morning.

LOL! Have fun in Vegas! I just detest it but I'm glad you have it for your getaways!

We LOVE it. Prior to kids we would go at least once a year. We even went when my wife was 5 - 6 months pregnant. We had a blast each time. We gamble, but not a TON. We see the lower cost shows.... no $125 a ticket shows for us, thanks.

We eat at a variety of places. We love STROLLING through the hotels. We like the downtown area.

And we like going to Hoover Dam.

We just passed 5 years without going 2 weeks ago. We're headed to AC next Saturday night. A very pale comparison!

I have never really had any interest in going there...

OH YEAH I LOVE VEGAS!!!!!!!!!! We just got back a few weeks ago from another great trip there! First day there put a 20 in a quarter machine and won almost 200!!! We drive there usually 4-5 times a year.

We make the phlocking with the other Parrotheads when he plays there and a zillion other things too!

Never been, so I have know idea. I think that I would like it.

1. Yes, you can, and I do. There is more to being an adult then swearing. Topics of conversation, beverage consumation, the funness that can occur after said consumation (and I'm not talking stuff that should be confined to ones home)...

2. I an super sensetive to smoke and I can't tell there is smoking going on unless I am standing next to, or walking by a smoker. The hotels I hang out in have great ventilation systems.

I love Vegas! But then, I love any place that's open all night, and has no clocks to tell you how late it is.

I'm not much of a gambler, either. I just love spending the days hanging out by the pool in that dry heat, and I love the nightlife. :woohoo: (I got to boogie, too!)

Oh, and I'm with WatchinCaptKangaroo on the smoke. Unless I'm sitting right next to a smoker, I never notice it. The newer hotels/casinos have great air filtration systems, so it's not like many bars/clubs where you can see stagnant clouds of smoke filling the whole place. ::cough, cough::

I'd much rather go to WDW, but I enjoy myself when visiting Vegas. I liked it better when we could go to the Disney Gallery which closed years ago. I gamble a little bit, and quit when I'm ahead. There is a lot of fun stuff to see, good food, and some shopping. It's about a 3 day experience for me, then I'm ready to leave. :)

I like it, but more for the air fares and the opportunity to use it as a place before and after a more desireable vacation. We've stayed in LV and gone to the Hoover Dam and other, closer sights. We've seen the desert bloom in the spring and it was spectacular. We've gone to Zion, Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon NPs from LV and we're planning to go once again in '07 with family and friends.

We've seem some good entertainment, and enjoyed seeing some of the marvelous hotels, but all in all, LV is too seedy for me. Oh, and we'd had ourselves some great buffets :thumbsup2

We love it! So much so that we moved here almost 2 years ago! No, we don't live on the Strip! We live in a lovely subdivision about 20 to 30 minutes from the Strip. We love the weather and the great opportunities that Vegas affords us. We were able to buy a house much larger than we would have been able to afford in Long Island. I like being close enough to the Strip that we can go see great shows when we want and we have fantastic restaurants at our fingertips. As for the smoke in the casinos, it really depends on the casino. Some of the local casinos and most of the downtown casinos are older and have poorer ventilation systems. The newer casinos have great ventilation systems and it is hard to smell any smoke. We have a new local casino in Summerlin called Red Rock Resort. Going to check it out this weekend. It looks beautiful!

i love it, we got married there :)
