Actually, I just checked the thread and it was Jodie who was doing all the boogering last night. So Sorry Bonnie. Will you accept my apology? But you must admit a lot of those games could offend many people. Not my intention, I just thought they were funny. How was suppose to know that all of a sudden someone is the DISerhood is sensitive?

Well, got to spray my DIT's hair orange (Allison) and then on to the big football game. Everyone have a great night.

Looks like you ladies have been busy today! I've been on a bit, but not much. Finally about to see a very *slight* resolution to my computer problem. The software fix is scheduled for Monday. The other PC problem is beyond the local tech guys, so it looks like another late night for me tonight & tomorrow. Don't you just *LOVE* corporate red tape???

Oh....I almost forgot. DH got temporarily assigned back to the tac unit. He goes back monday. There isn't a smilie for how I feel about this. So....he is going to talk to the Lt. about the k9 spot to make sure he wouldn't mind if he put in for it. Well, that's all for now.

Has the dis changed? Hmmmm. Yes I read that thread. I haven't been here long enough to be a good judge of that. Some who have, who's opinions I trust immensely, say that absolutely it has. Be it good or bad? Again I can't be a judge. I find threads like this one to be fun and "wormly"....one reason I came here. Other threads are a bummer. I guess the dis will always be what the people who fequent it make it. It's a big place. Hopefully big enough for all.

So Jennifer wants to change her dis name? Yikes! I am so bad at remembering names! But as often as we see her's it will probably be a piece of cake! Gotta think on that one Jennifer. I'll shoot out ideas as I get them.

Well now, Miss Jodie, I see how you really feel here. One thing I have never been called in my life is whiny. Stubborn, hot headed, overly sensitive (thank you EROS) and strong willed, yes, but not whiny!

Geez, a girl tries to have a little fun around here, and she gets a reputation!

I think I will just go back to my room at the Poly, and console myself with my hula hunk. Since Jay is not letting us peek under his robe, I will just have to check out what is under that grass skirt!

Has the Dis changed? Yes... but in many respects that's to be expected, because as Jodie said, the Dis is and will always be what we, the people, make it. As people and personalities come and go, the "spirit" of the board changes. I like to think/hope there's room for all of us here. All in all, I think we all get along pretty well.

Michele, I'll be keeping your DH's career goals on my positive thoughts list as well as my prayer list.

A name change for Jennifer? Hmmm... going to have to think on that one for awhile. Ummm... should it say something about being the original YA YA'er?

Uh oh... who was it that asked us to list what we do? Poo... I forgot who asked that one. Well, I'm a mom. I'm also the meanest substitue teacher my son's school has ever seen.

Thanks Kim. I can't really go into why I don't really want him on tac. Not exactly the most safe place he has ever worked at. But it is REAL police work (as opposed to desk, boring work). I would appreciate it if you could keep him on your prayer list.

Can you guys stand some more about my job? If not, skip this post.

Today, I had a meeting with a coworker because there was a problem on my unit, and rather than reporting it to me (I am a Unit Manager, or head nurse if you will) she reported it to the VP of clinical services. We had this trouble once before, and she, my boss, and I agreed that all problems on my unit would be reported to me and would not be brought to my boss or the VP unless I didn't do what I was supposed to. The discussion got a little heated but the end was that we agreed that she would communicate these things to me first as we had already agreed once before.

After this discussion was over, the coworker asked me to please come into her office, where she proceeded to tell me that the reason that she had done what she did is that after the last time, when she, my boss, and I agreed to the above mentioned solution, my boss went behind my back and told her not to do what we agreed upon. After discussion with the VP (who is also a trusted friend), I found out that what my coworker said was the truth and that my boss on two occasions today, had LIED to me.

I also discovered that there were several other things that I was supposed to have been told and given choices about that my boss told me lies about. She either didn't tell me, or she told me what she wanted and said it came from the VP. An example, we are scheduled to work 84 hours a pay period. We (the 3 fulltime unit managers) are supposed to be able to flex out the extra hours so that we only average 80. I have asked about this several times, and was told that it was built into my salary and I wasn't allowed to take an extra day off. Seems that my boss has been told several times that we had a choice of either accruing PTO time or taking the flex time off, and she has allowed us to do neither and then said it was the decision of the VP.

Each time we have complained, she has told us that she took it "back downstairs" and that the answer stood. Come to find out, she never took it downstairs or if she did, we weren't given the choices we were supposed to have been, only told what she wanted.

The other day she told me when we were discussing how a weekend was going to have RN coverage, that she was a DON and she was not working weekends. Now keep in mind that I was a Director of Nursing until my facility was sold last year, and I never left my staff out to hang like this. I didn't want to work weekends either, but I did it if it was what the staff and residents needed.

We have a big meeting next week to discuss why the 3 fulltime Unit Managers have a grievance list and are ready to walk. It is going to get interesting.

Why thank you for asking Michele! First I worked long hours today and then DH, DD, and I went out to a nice restaurant.

I am thinking of going to Frankenmuth, MI tomorrow if the weather is okay, so if I am not around, it will be because I am shopping at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland and the outlet mall.
I already have an ornament from WDW for my exchangee, but I might have to get something else too!

Whoa Bonnie...that is nasty stuff. Is she just lazy or does she just not agree with giving ya'll those "perks"? At least you have 2 other people to be with you on this. You have some very legitimate greivances!!! Does she get a "bonus" for making a certain quota of hours? I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. When work is not right it just sets your whole world askew. Hang tough with her...don't back down! You deserve to be treated better!!! I will be thinkng about you and sending lots of pixie dust your way until this is resolved.

She does like to delegate everything Jodie. I think one of the saving graces for me is that the VP recruited me because she has worked with me previously and knows me and my work well. The other thing is that the VP asked me several questions today about was I told this or that (and I hadn't been) and found out that my boss has lied to her as well saying I had been told when I wasn't. Evidently, the VP had talked to another unit manager previously about the same issue, and our stories matched exactly. You're right, it's scary stuff, but I feel a little comfort zone in that the VP knows me and knows what I would and would not do. Lying would be one of the things she knows I
won't do.

Hi all... I am back and mostly caught up on the CB right now and catching up here.

No pics tonight. The light in our room that has the nice wall (only good clear wall) for taking pics burnt out and we have no replacements right now. Tomorrow first thing I promise. It is lighter so that means they had to strip the color out and recolor it. It is very nice and most of you won't know that I had a thing done unless you remember how dark my hair was in Chicago. I just like it and it wasn't too bad considering all they did. I will go in a week and she will touch up and check to make sure all is well with the coloring after the stipping (free of charge). Only about an inch off the back and some angling in the front. Not dramatically different but different enough that I could notice... if only the sulpher smell would go away

Bonnie, sounds like your boss is a trip to deal with I do hope it all works out there for you soon {{hugs}}

Betty, I will certainly keep you in my prayers for those two long weeks. I know the feeling and I hope it all goes okay between now and the 1st of Nov
