forgot to let you know that they caught the guy who kidnapped and raped my neighbor early this morning in a high speed chase. He wrecked a car into a corn field. Got to love Ohio and our corn. The early morning news didn't say if the car that was wrecked was one of the cars that he stole. I feel better knowing that he is behind bars and hope they throw the book at him.

Me too. Just got back from the bank. THe Branch manager is stumpt too!!! She said she's never seen such a well organized register and it should take 2 seconds to balance, but she gets the same offage!!!! She now has half the bank working on this. Such a little town I live in....feels like half the village has had a peek at our checkbook .

Sheeesh!!!!

How is your neighbor doing?

My 4 hours? well...Laundry, getting ready to leave on Friday and dh doesn't do laundry (a deal agreed to when we married, I don't do yardwork ) Think I'll mop the kitchen and foyer. Then do some reading. I also have to write up a quote for a knitting client. She wants me to design a sweater for her that resembles one that is worn out.

And yet, I haven't started any of it.......

Nothing serious at the doctor. I am diabetic and need to go in every 3 months or so for testing.

They say it is going to be another hot day here. How is Michigan's temperature. Unfortunately, the rain from the latest hurricane is going to hit us Friday night. Of course, that is Senior night for Cross Country at the football game. We will be escorting our DS in the pouring rain. No matter, the proud mama will be beaming. Is the rain going to affect your camp out?

Jennifer, do you knit by hand or do you have a knitting machine? I have no idea how to knit. Just one of my few downfalls. And if you believe that I have some land to sell you.

I haven't talked to my neighbor yet. One of her best friends lives next door. I am going to check with her later today to see what she thinks is the best way to help out.

Did you see the thread about accidently eating potpourri? I was very amused. Of course, it doesn't take much to keep me amused. Brought back memories of Allison eating dog biscuits. She was little and Iam not really convinced that Chris didn't tell her to do it. So for our evening discussion I thought we could discuss things that either our children or ourselves have eaten or drank by accident. It might give us some laughs. What do you think?

Speaking of Mods, what happen to Willy J? Did we scare him away? Aren't the mods watching us? Maybe they heard that most of us are angels and don't break any DIS rules. Of course can anyone out there guess who isn't an angel?

I think we scared Shep and Yensid away also. I guess they can't handle wild, I mean angelic, women.


As for the discussion tonight I will share a story about what bfeller drank when she was little and what bfeller's little brother ate when he was around 4 or 5. Start thinking of the stories. If you can't remember, I am sure that a call to anyone's mom will bring back some "Guess what I ate/drank stories"

I like your topic for the evening!!! I haven't gotten to the potpourri thread yet. I'm going to have to do some thinking though. Can't remember any funky esting stories off hand. Oh Chris is far too nice of a boy to talk his sister into something like that!!! LOL!!!!!

Yes, I am actually a pattern designer (Part of the reason dh got me the lap top, I can write patterns and be with the kids at the same time. I use it more for dising these days )

I also do custom work for a few clients. I have one that lives in the city, very wealthy, when she gets tired of working on a project she's started I finish them for her. Hand knitting.

Right now I designed and am TRYING to knit Emily a JESSE sweater. I haven't picked it up since my shoulder thing. I'm anxious to get back to it.

So the men are too scared to stay huh?????

Last night:
Betty delivered the slushies after subbing a class of 8th grade BOYS! Man Betty...hope you got the first sip!!!

Plans are under way to keep this thread going through the weekend (mods permitting) and the census of who will or will not be here is as follows: Michele-no, Betty-yes, Elaine-yes, Jennifer-no, Dream 1/2

Jennifer desparately lunges for the slushies as she considered dising around the Girl Scout campfire this weekend. Dream thinks that smores dripped on a laptop keyboard is probably a BAD thing!

Dream is camping with the cub scouts this weekend and NEVER considered taking her laptop to the campfire!!! These are BOYS remember?

Betty was a little concerned that we only like her for her slushies. Gasp!!! Absolutely NOT...well I never....of course we like you for other....um Betty...the pitcher is empty.

Jay got hot and bothered thinking about Kinky Kim and reminded us that yesterday was the birthday of WDW and Epcot!! WOO HOO!!! A suggestion was made to make this day a national holiday and we reminiced about our first trips and experiencing the magic!

It is too hot in many of our home towns to be October!

Zurg joined us for the "slushie parts" of the thread....WOW, that guy has some kind of radar huh?

There was some discussion of "boots" vs "slippers" and Zurg told us that these are indeed "good shoes"!

Zurg was reassured that this is a "no flame zone"

Many tried for the last word but it came down to a duel between Bonnie and Kim with Bonnie as the winner, the most stubborn and the one among us who is the most tired today!! It was decided that Bonnie's boss probably would not accept a note from the dis explaining Bonnie's absence at work today!

Kim tried to shhhh Jay!

Jennifer requested a "hot and spicy" pm and Kim told her to get her OWN padowan and Jennifer threatened to tattle any info she uncovers and Jay must be getting quite a kick out of these women fighting over him!

More Kim pics were requested and ever so humbly refused

Bonnie brought up the infamous typo again

Kim's curiosity is peaked about Dream's mystery package! (ribbit ribbit hee hee)

We all want Kim to be safe in those wildfires ou there in the sticks!

This morning:

Betty had some interesting attire theories about Kim some of which were later verified by kamahula herself

We are all praying for Betty's neighbor and she told us tht htey caught the slimeball who abducted her!!!

Betty is hoping her wait in the doctor's office isn't a century long like Jennifer's yesterday!

Jennifer's entire town is now balancing her checkbook

Betty's birthday is in November
and she wants BIG gifts form Jennifer

Betty's dd has an affinity for dog biscuits and she wants u s to share stories tonight of strange things we have eaten

Thanks for the update Jodie!!! You actually reminded me of a couple of things I forgot to say to Betty this morning!!! What would we do without you!!!!

Betty, it's humid and warm up here today, but not as warm as yesterday. I am Soooooo glad the rain will hit us her Fri-Sun Yes that IS when I will be stuck out in the woods learning to be a girl scout camper !!!!

If they find me my money at the bank....It can be our slushie fund!!

What day is the birthday Betty...so we can properly celebrate!!!!! Large gift on it's way (anyone want to chip in????)

Morning/afternoon all. I'm still here. I haven't been chased away. It's just tough to relate a story like this and keep it G/PG or even PG-13. How about this.... Kim met this friend of hers one day. They were together for *hours* that day. She had things done to her that don't happen very often. The physical interaction was incredible. You would be amazed at what they did. But I don't want to get this thread closed, so I need to restrain myself. You know, she may have been wearing those leather boots, now that I think about it....

Well, this *is* a family board. I can only be so specific, ya know. I do know that a lot of oil was used. Lots of fingers running thru hair. Various cover ups. A little talking, but not a lot. Twisting, turning, squriming, going this way & that. Man, Kim is gonna hunt me down for spilling all this. You all have to protect me, you know. You *will* protect me if she gets mad, right? After all I have to do something to get back for bringing up my typo again. Sheesh... But if you guys don't protect me, I'm not going to say another word.

I may not be around tonight. Gotta take my work PC into the office to have an upgrade done & am working on getting my other machines networked together. If I succeed, I'll stop by, if not I'll be by tomorrow.

Good luck with all the upgrades and networking. My dh set up a network at home (4 computers) I've become quite a pro at troubleshooting unexpected problems. (He ditches me here every day to work. Go figure!!!) It's nice to be able to transfer stuff quickly from one machine to the other.

Thanks Jennifer. Protecting my honor. Protecting my butt. Either one. I could use both!! Even a Jedi or Padawan can use assistance at times.

I hope the upgrade goes well. They're moving us from Win NT to Win 2000, so I get to take the machine up for them to work on overnight. The annoying part is that I use 2 printers at the house, so I have to take *BOTH* up there for them to configure. Sheesh.... I'm sure they'd want my monitor, keyboard & mouse if they weren't already mine.

I have my router all set up here at the house & have the work machine configured. I'm having a problem configuring the other machine (1 of 2 others). I get a "network socket error" when opening my browser. I'm going to try reinstalling the drivers later & see if that fixes it. Other than that, I'm at a loss. I've done all I can think of to fix it, but it's not working. Any tips? I would greatly appreciate it. I'd much rather surf on my personal machine than my work machine. All my music & image files are on there (sorry, no images of the Kinky Incident. No cameras were present ). Then I'll be set to to tackle that video/monitor driver error......
