The Disney Premiere Passport: A Mild Rant

Just wanted to say I renewed mine in New Years Eve at DL and that night while waiting for the fireworks at Midnight I was easily able to add my pass to the MDE app with no issue. Now just hope it works with my Magicband when I get to WDW on 2/26 with no problem.

We upgraded our DLR Premium to the Premier pass at WDW in early Dec. We had a few issues getting the pass setup with the Magic Bands, had to talk to a few CM's to get it working. We went back to DLR in mid Dec and the pass wouldn't scan so a CM took down our info and issued paper tickets for the day. They got everything sorted out quickly and we didn't have issues with the pass for the rest of the trip.
 
I'm curious has anyone Not had issues with this pass trying to get into either park? I was hoping to get one of these eventually but I haven't heard one person say they haven't had issues :confused3

I got mine in WDW, we leave for DL in 12(!) days. I will let you know if I have any issues as soon as I can. Our first day in the parks is 1/17.

That would have been me. I have only had one issue and that was due to the fact that DL sent my pass number to WDW as a void. That's is the only glitch I have had since the pass came out.

Had the same thing happen to me when I went to WDW and back. Thankfully it worked on the second day of the trip. I was ready to give up my RID card to get my AP discount back which doesn't work on those paper tickets. Anyways quick turn around so it didn't matter in the end. If a bit frustrating. And we got seated to our dinner reservations at WDW in Epcot a bit late since they were in my name. And they wouldn't seat my Mom until I was there for some reason. Hopefully my card doesn't get replaced when I renew it in February or I get to do it all over again in November.

Posted on the page before this one. Used my PAP at both DLR where I purchased it last month, and then two weeks later at WDW. Had no issues at either park. The issues with the RFID cards seemed to have resolved at least in my case.
 
DH and I just got back from DL and had no problems entering the park with the Premier Passports we originally bought at WDW; however, we could never get a picture to link with the tickets (for park entry). We tried taking a new picture 2 times plus had a manager take our info to look into it but the picture never worked. We had to use our ID's everyday to enter the park - was a pain for the whole week but I guess it could be worse.

You'd think they'd hammer out these problems.
 
Since converting to Magic Bands at WDW, we've been twice with no issues. We linked our Premier APs to the MB and no problem... For DL we've never had issues in the 4 years that we've had the Premier passes.

There was that weird period of time between issuing RFID cards and the emergence of the MBs that there may have been issues. (There was a gap I believe.) When they wanted to convert my AP to the RFID version last summer at WDW I said no thanks, this one's working fine! ;)
 
I'm disappointed to hear that there are still problems getting your photo associated with your RFID Premier. We're just going to let ours expire at this point because we aren't going back to WDW anytime soon, but that's just an ongoing and enormous lack of excellence on Disney IT's part.
 
Got to DL yesterday. Passport would not work. Had to get a 1-day complimentary ticket. The other issues was AP discounts took a little longer to get a manager to override the transactions. They said they had to email wdw. By early evening they had it straightened out.
 
I am not saying it did not happen but I have never had to have a manager override to to get the discount. They always just give me the Club 33 on. It's the same.

We had the same experience as tienzendorf last October. (It's further back in this thread.) For every single dining or merch purchase we made over four days at DLR, we were asked to wait until a lead could come and key-in our Premier discount. It sucked up a lot of time, and we hated making people behind us have to wait.
 
Ok. I guess on this thread I am the really lucky one I guess.

Also my picture never took. I get it takes a bit, but 3 days and it never loaded into the system.
 
Upgraded to premier at WDW in December. Still not working at DLR. they are " looking into it". Any tips or contacts? How are they being allowed to sell essentially a faulty product?

Go to city hall or chamber of commerce and find someone who will stick with you until it is sorted out. There's only one person in FL who can access the database to fix it. In the meantime get them to give you things to make up for the frustration. Fastpasses, magic mornings, etc. Then write an email when you get home. We went through 6 days of this crazyness. Josh at chamber of commerce in CA was the one that finally fixed ours. Good luck.

I upgrade my premium to premiere last summer and had no issues at WDW this past September and no issues back at DL in December.
 
DH and I had issues first visit to CA after WDW. Passes worked fine after the first time. Still have issues with the discount..cm's have to manually type info...other times we get the Club 33 discount...thx to this thread I now understand why.

We have been hounded to get our picture taken every trip.....um I am sorry...you can't get your system to work....I am not stopping for a photo every trip and wasting my time. You have my photo....figure it out. Rant over.
 
We had to visit the ticket booths daily for four days to get it sorted out. After we returned home, someone from Florida called to make sure things finally worked. It was a mess, no clue how to expedite the solution. Good luck!
