I had to post this. Its funny seeing and hearing everyone refer to it as a boat. I just thought I would remind people technically it is a ship. LOL I dont know why I made a post out of this but I remember when my mom called the ship a "boat" on our first cruise she was promptly corrected by the captain. LOL Just thought I would remind people its a lot bigger then a boat, its a ship.

My kids call the Magic "Mickey's boat." You see, daddy has a boat (a VERY small one) so Mickey has one too. LOL! We didn't correct them as they were squealing when we first saw it. They may have started calling it "Mickey's ship" and...well...with a 3 & 5 yo, you never know how that could sound. ;) I didn't want them screaming that word out when they saw it. :teeth:

You can't trust those kids! I have a new grandson, Andrew, and when my 3yo granddaughter is over his house playing she runs around yelling "catch me Andrew" only she pronounces 'Andrew' as 'Ash hole'. I can only imagine what the neighbors are saying!:)

I also correct my family miscalling these vessels a boat, but when my 2 1/2 yr old DGD said, "Grammy I wuv dat Big Boat. Please can we ride it?" It melted my heart!!! As you can see we will be "riding dat big boat" in 3 long months!!! I can't wait!!!

I totally agree with you. A boat is something small. The Magic and Wonder are grand ships.

However, like the other Lisa, my kids call them "Mickey's Boat" too. Their excitement and innocence is too sweet to correct.

For kids its different but adults I try to tell no its a ship not a boat. My 5 year old sister calls it Mickey's Boat and I dont care. But if my mom calls it a boat I correct her. Its a lot bigger then a boat. LOL

And once you are on the ship, it doesn't have any elevators. They are called lifts. There isn't a back of the ship, it's the aft. Therefor the lifts in the aft of the ship are the aft lifts. Once again, you don't want your kids (or yourself;) ) stumbling over those words!!
