The Disney Grump is taking me on a DREAM vacation! TR Link, pg 30

Nice, but that's a whole lotta sand dollars! :scared1:

I know, right? I guess they rent them out though or the price would have dropped - stupid people like me willing to pay an arm and a leg for our own private section of paradise for a day......

I love the picture of Justin getting "chewed out" (I have the exact same picture with Andy :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).

WOW! That is a pricey cabana. But I think I'd go for it just to have the comfort of knowing you have something for all day to hold your stuff, keep you and your skin safe. Let us know what you decide.

Isn't that pic of Justin too funny? I laughed out loud when I saw it.

If I can convince Don I'm keeping the cabana :rolleyes1

Oh man, I just I just saw this! Wish I had known.... I want one too.:goodvibes
I'll be trying to snag one along the way! Looks delightful!

Or maybe if you only want to swallow half of the price we could share!

Now that's a thought! I know the price only covers 6 people, but they let you add up to a total of 10 for $50 more per person over 6. So we could add you guys and just pay the extra $50. Split the total 7 ways, we'd pay for 4 and you guys pay for 3.......hmmmm, whaddya think?

Hopping aboard! Sounds like quite the exciting trip you've got planned. Can you teach me the secret on how to convince a Disney hater to take a trip? My DBF is also anti-Disney but I've almost got him convinced to come to WDW with me. I can totally relate to your situation though. Good job on convincing your DH for another Disney vacation :thumbsup2 Plus you scored some nights at AKL too! Awesome!

Hi there and :welcome: Thanks for coming aboard!

I think the only secret is that I'm a spoiled brat and he doesn't like to listen to me whine. :lmao: Unless he just totally falls in love with the cruise I think he's finished going to Disney for a good long time. Soooooo, I gotta make him fall in love with the cruise :thumbsup2

Wow, that video tour of the cabana blew me away. That looks pretty nice! And you would have some snacks and drinks all set up? And a fan? :thumbsup2 I've never been on one of the cruises so I have no idea how worth it they are, but I know I'd be happy in one!:goodvibes

Don't they look awesome! Throw a day bed in there and I'd stay for a week!

Sounds like the cabana share thing is the way to go.....

It is a whole lot of $$$ but if it gets you shade and peace of mind, go for it. You'd hate to burn and then be uncomfortable for the rest of the trip or longer...

Looks like we have us a BIG family CABANA SHARE!!! pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate: princess:princess:

I've looked at that video a few times already and I'm going to go and look at it again. What fun awaits us! Just wondering if we need to take some extra snacks for that day.....:rolleyes1

Love that the DIS allows for deal making LOL!!

What a great thing to watch unfold LOL!~

Sea, that's a good thing. Now neither of you will be crabby because you have to sit out in the hot sun. I know all you pirates and princesses will have a blast! So glad that worked out for you guys. :goodvibes

I say, yes, you're gonna need more snacks with all those boys. ::yes:: There were quite a few drinks, but not much in the munchies department.

Will you bring me back a shell, Wigd? A tiny, scrawny shell will do. That's the closest I'm probably ever going to get to Castaway Cay.

When I told Don that Wigd and Shocker were interest in sharing the cabana rental with us he was all for that, so we have ourselves a cabana!!

I've watched that video (among others  ) a few times myself. It looks just heavenly doesn't it?!

You are probably onto something with the extra snacks, I think Justin could eat all those chips and granola bars in no time - for a skinny kid he sure eats a lot!

I tried to add you guys to the ressie but it wouldn't let me, I have a feeling that it is because of the extra person. I did get a message that said we could add you once we were on board though, so it's all good :thumbsup2

Isn't it great?! I hope they aren't sick of us by the end of the cruise though

And Don won't be crabby because I made him pay $500 for a cabana  He finds the split fee much more reasonable :thumbsup2

Yep, I think we'll need more snacks for sure.

Glad the bad weather missed you! It has been a crazy three days of weather. MeMom is probably right -- I should be a meterologist. I watched it yesterday afternoon as well as those storms rolled through North Carolina. (I do have a good excuse, though. I cracked a tooth and can't see a dentist until tomorrow. I haven't been good for much else except lying on the couch and watching The Weather Channel.)

The cabanas look awesome and what a good idea for you and Wigd's family to split the cost! That makes it much more reasonable! :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday to Justin!!!

MeMom, I will have at least a shell for you when we come knocking on your door in June...
I'm not giving up on getting you on a cruise though. You and the girls would love it and you could always get a verandah stateroom. We upgraded to that from the inside for only $300.

Michelle, I hope you don't get sick of us by the end of vacation!

I found this video and I'm ready to pack my bags and go now!!!

http://youtu.be/RN84Jiumaoo

I see they have some floats for the boys, I think I'll take a blow-up float or a couple of noodles for Marc and I.

Wow they call those cabanas?? They look more like a cottage! They look wonderful & that video does make you want to just be there.:goodvibes

Wow those cabanas look awesome!!! :cool1:

What a great way to relax? It should sure help with turning DH into a 'believer'!

The cabana looks awesome! So cool that you get to share it (and the cost) with Wigd and gang! That video is heavenly! :cloud9: Makes me so excited to be telling you that I booked our cruise today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: We will be going on the 4 night Dream cruise to the Bahamas this fall!! I am soooo excited! I can't wait to hear about your dolphin encounter. I think we are going to book that one too. The only thing that I am disappointed over is that we had to take the second seating for dinner since I booked so late. Eating at 8:30 at night does not appeal to me at all. Oh well, what can I do?

Ouch! Sorry about your tooth! That stinks that you couldn't get into a dentist and have to live with that through the weekend!

Everytime I think about that cabana I get excited! :yay:

A cabana share is such a great idea!
You're going to have such a great time. :goodvibes

The share is perfect! We would have spent the money to rent stuff to snorkel and probably for floats and tubes as well, with the share we won't be spending that much more and it comes with those things!

I saw that video too, I have watched a few :rolleyes1

They are supposed to have floats and tubes for everyone in the cabana, so you shouldn't have to bring one.

I think we are going to need to work out some sort of schedule rotation for the hammock

Aren't they great?! I think I could live in one for awhile

Congratulations on booking your cruise!!! I booked late as well (in October) and all that was left was the late seating. I don't mind so much though, my boys are older so I don't have to worry about them falling asleep at dinner or getting cranky because it's so late. One thing I read that a lot of people with the late seating do is to order a snack from room service while they are getting ready for the show, that way they have a little something to tide them over until dinner. Plus, room service is free! :woohoo: (Well, I guess not free, included is probably a better word  )

Yay for free (or included :rolleyes1) room service. I guess that's what we will do too. We are night owls, so being out late doesn't bother me, but going to bed with a very full stomach does. I could do that when I was 18, but not so much now! And how could you not have a full stomach on a cruise?!?! I'll deal with it though. I'll just pack lots of Tums!

I have another question for you on the dolphin encounter. Can you tell me why you booked it through Disney and not direct? I noticed on the blue lagoon web site, that it is much cheaper to book directly. I'm just wondering if there is some factor to it that I don't know about (like differences in transportation to BL or is it not as safe to book direct, etc.) I just want to make sure I understand it all ahead of time b/c, to be honest, Nassau makes me nervous. It doesn't really sound like a good neighborhood if you know what I mean. I don't want to book it directly and then have to take a cab through some rough neighborhood to get to the boat or whatever. We have no intentions of actually going into Nassau so if booking directly requires us to do that, then I'd rather book through Disney. Any info you can pass along would be very much appreciated. :)

Rinky, you have no choice since you are cruising Disney you must book through Disney. We tried and couldn't. They have an agreement.

Oh, ok! Thank you! I knew there had to be a reason. So how do you get to Blue Lagoon then? Do they pick you up from the Dream or do you have to go to Paradise Island port (?) like the web site says? And since it is offered through Disney, does that mean that you can use your onboard credits towards the price?

The cabanas look awesome! So happy you were able to work out a share. In addition to the great company you'll be keeping, definitely helps the budget! Can't wait to hear all about it!!

I'll let Michelle answer those questions, I have no clue....
I think I'll just follow the pack.
