The Disney Grump & Family Take on the World-Our '09 Christmas w/ the Mouse, COMPLETE

Oh! And about that camera bag, I was admiring it thinking it was a purse all this time!!! Kinda like a stylish baby bag, I guess, multi-use!!! Oh and that "camera" that belongs to my BIL, well, that is all his doing, NOT mine!!! BUT that is not to say I wouldn't want one.... :rolleyes1 Gives entire new meaning to camera-envy... :rotfl:

:lmao: I remember that your BIL was the scandalous smuggler - you were just an innocent by-stander!!! :thumbsup2 It is a pretty ingenious "camera" though ;)

After lunch we went over to use our gifted FPs for Toy Story. Since we only had 3 Don volunteered to grab a seat on a bench and people watch while the rest of us rode.

Up Next: Indiana Jones & The Osborne Lights

I'm going to be a bit odd...but I chatted with your husband, while ya'll were on the ride. So glad to hear about the rest of your trip!

I love this now! YAY TripReports!

Snow! I am loving looking at everyone's snow pictures today!!:goodvibes I put mine up on my PTR a little while ago and it's funny how many sled, snow angel, and white back yards I've seen today-it's like we all live really close to one another!!

Looks like we got about the same amount of snow but you got ice:eek: that we thankfully didn't get!

Quick question-was that camera bag comfortable to carry all day in the parks? I usually carry a messenger type bag so that my hands are free but I am really liking that bag and my camera (a Nikond5000) would fit so much better in there than in my other bags. Plus there is still room to carry other junk. But, I'm worried about carrying it over my shoulder all day. Thanks in advance for your opinion on it all!

Great idea that you went and got RNR fastpasses after getting the TSM ones! I was thinking that as I was reading our TR and then you said that you got them! :thumbsup2 I can't believe how crowded the park was! That is crazy!
Your snow pictures are very fun especially since you don't get much snow. The ice is quite impressive! When we get ice any where near that much the tree branches start coming down and the power goes out. :scared: We are now getting your storm, so far we've gotten about 4 inches....

Oh my gosh, how funny! What a small world this is!

I see that you are from Salisbury, MD. A very dear friend of mine, my roommate all through college, lived there for several years. We came out and visited them once while they were there too and loved it. They live in west Texas now - not nearly as pretty as the Atlantic Coast!

This storm is just huge - everyone has snow pics to share!!

On the camera bag - I was nervous at first that it would be too bulky & heavy and that my shoulder or back would start to hurt after hauling it around all day, but surprisingly enough it never bothered me! I left my purse at home and just put what I needed inside the camera bag, it worked perfectly for me.

I was pretty pumped when I realized that I could get another set of FPs, since it was such a busy day I knew that would come in handy!

I know that we don't get near the snow that those of you in the north get - but it's A LOT for us! We do tend to get these nasty ice storms every now and then though and they are NOT fun. We lucked out (so far) this time and haven't lost power, nor has anyone in my family - they aren't as lucky across the state though, lots of power outages. My trees are all still pretty young so the branches are more flexible which helps keep them from breaking under all that extra weight.

Another great update! I can't believe the crowds! I love your drawings; how cute. You all look like such a fun family.

The snow pictures are so pretty, and I just want to squeeze your dog! She's beautiful.

Thanks for the input!! I have found both the giraffe and zebra on ebay...off to ponder some more!:goodvibes

Enjoyed your snow pics. Looks like your boys (and DH) really had a lot of fun playing in it! :)

Wow! You got a lot of snow!!! I am like this  over your iced Mickey antenna! The boys are so cute having fun in the snow! Did you participate in the snowball fight?

Your DHS installment is very helpful! Haha, I love the drawings. Even if I can't draw well, I know it'll make for an interesting photo!

The guys look like they had a ton of fun in the snow! Even when it snows that much up here, we don't have space to play in it. We have a backyard, but it's not as big of a space to run around. The sled looks fun! I want a ride :)

Boys do love their snow, don't they!!?? They were out in ours yesterday while it was falling for easily an hour... today they will be back at it but at least the sun is out -- still COLD though, so no melting!

Your ICE is crazy -- That is worse than snow.. the tree is so cool looking... love iced trees, they are very pretty... funny about Mickey! Frozen in place!

Looks like you guys enjoyed your snow. My dh is military and we are in nova right now and got some snow. I told him when we move in 2012 I wanna go someplace warm. I don't like snow at all.

What a fun DHS day! Crazy to think Old Man's dream was even crowded, though!
Also, love the snow day pictures-- your family looks like they had so much fun together!

Great snow pictures! I'm more than sick of it here, now we are in the deep freeze. I get to escape in 3 days, heading to the West Palm Beach area until the end of Feb. :goodvibes

After going to WDW on Spring Break & just after school let out for the summer, we only go in the off season. It would get so crowded that MK would close to more guests at noon! Those were not fun days, that is why my DH didn't want to ever go back. We started going in Sept. & it was like a ghost town. This past year was much worse, the crowds were not as bad campared to peak times, but still a lot worse than we had seen in past Septembers.

Is May a quiet time at WDW?

Just got all caught up again!
We have never seen the flag retired for the day, what a neat ceremony! I hope we happen on it sometime!

From what I've read you have had some great luck with the exception of Liberty Tree Tavern...
We've always had good luck there, so I just don't understand that.

Have you ever had lunch there? That's my time to go!

I just unsubscribed and subscribed again, maybe I'll get your updates from now on.

I was wondering how you all were since the ice storm. I had heard reports of some bad ice down your way.....

Thanks!

I love to look at the snow at first, but now I'm ready for it to go away :thumbsup2

My dog would love for you to cuddle her - big as she is, she thinks she's a lap dog and she loves to curl up and cuddle!

Thanks for the input!! I have found both the giraffe and zebra on ebay...off to ponder some more!:goodvibes

Hope you find something that you love!!

Awesome updates! It was crazy crowded that day!

Denise

It was a little crowded that day! Biggest crowds we experienced all week with the exception of our last day though.

Enjoyed your snow pics. Looks like your boys (and DH) really had a lot of fun playing in it! :)

Yep, my boys had a ball in the snow. They ended up going over to a neighbors house yesterday afternoon. He had taken one of those big tubes that you pull behind a boat and tied it to the back of his 4 wheeler. He was pulling the kids all over the place, probably not the safest activity in the world, but they loved it!

Wow! You got a lot of snow!!! I am like this  over your iced Mickey antenna! The boys are so cute having fun in the snow! Did you participate in the snowball fight?

I know - isn't that ice crazy!!

I'm afraid I did not participate in the snowball fight - I really, really, really hate to be cold, so I would just pop out and take a few pictures then get my rear back in the warm house

I can't draw at all and mine don't turn out too terrible at the academy, so I say go for it!

We are lucky in that we have lots of room for the boys to play, our house is on 5 acres, as are the rest of the homes in our 'neighborhood' so they can run wild!

I know the ice is so pretty isn't it - I just wish it wouldn't cause so much damage! We are lucky in that we never lost power and our trees are young so the limbs don't break real easily - others are not so lucky though :sad2:

Looks like you guys enjoyed your snow. My dh is military and we are in nova right now and got some snow. I told him when we move in 2012 I wanna go someplace warm. I don't like snow at all.

I'm not a fan of snow either, so I don't blame you for wanting to get someplace warm!

Will you get some options on where to move next? My dad was in the Air Force for 22 years, but my parents divorced when I was young so I only endured 3 moves.

Thank your DH for his service, and thank you as well, I know it's a sacrifice the entire family makes!

What a fun DHS day! Crazy to think Old Man's dream was even crowded, though!

I had never seen One Man's Dream crowded, usually that is where you go to escape the crowds!

Enjoy you time in Palm Beach - that sounds heavenly! :cloud9:

I'm not sure about crowds in May. We've been in July, October & December. This is the first time for May - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a good time to go. :thumbsup2

Enjoy your snow!! It's such a novelty there, I bet the boys were loving it up!

Yep, snow is a novelty here for sure! This is our second snow storm (1st was while we were in WDW) of the winter which it very unusual for us.

Just got all caught up again!

I was wondering how you all were since the ice storm. I had heard reports of some bad ice down your way.....

The flag retreat was a nice surprise - we just happened to be sitting on the train platform when it started, it was good to see.

I know lots of people enjoy LTT and I'm sure we just had a bad waiter on a bad night, but it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, ya know? I've never been for lunch - maybe I'll give it another try someday, but I'm afraid it'll be awhile.

When I read on your report that school didn't close for you on Friday I was shocked - I figured you guys were getting dumped on too! My boys have been out since Thursday, no school tomorrow either. It's supposed to get above freezing tomorrow, so hopefully this will start to melt.

Thursday night we only got about 2 inches and then during the day on Friday another 3 inches perhaps...
Just not enough to close schools here. We are supposed to have an icy mix here tomorrow though during the day so I'm sure we will have school. Oh well, we are leaving just as soon as school is out so I sure don't want to have any make up days! Enjoy your snow day tomorrow!
