Who else thinks that these MagicBand wristbands look uncomfortable or thinks that the RFID tracking is a creepy invasion of privacy? Non FP+ guests can see you are wearing the band - do you want to be singled out as someone privileged? What if you or you kid don't want to wear one of these things? Is a card an alternative? The video I saw said they are phasing out the cards for the wristbands - is this true?

Yea... my first thought was 'big brother is watching' I don't think I like that!

I brought it up to my wife this afternoon, and she thought it was a great idea.

As long as the data is secure, we have no problem with it.

I don't trust that my credit card information would be secure. Also...I don't wear a watch because it feels restrictive so I can't imagine spending a day with the band on especially if it's hot or humid.

Wasn't it only a few years ago one of the resorts got hacked and some guests cc numbers were stolen. Nothing is perfectly safe, but I think it would be rare for someone to get yor info off your band.

What happens if it falls off and you lose it? I guess you could say the same thing for a current cards, but at least you can keep those in a secure location.

And what about kids? My 4 year old won't even keep her MNSSHP bracelet on, so I doubt she would wear this one.

Are they officially testing the bands yet?

No testing of bands yet. The thought is cards will always be an alternative to the band. But that could change.

Thanks.
I DO admit, I really LOVE the "tap your card" entry for the resort rooms now. We've stayed at WL, AoA, and Sports since they've installed them, and it makes life so much easier!

I'm all for easy, and I think that's what they are trying to do, so I'm game! :thumbsup2

How is something buckled to your wrist less secure than a card in your pocket/wallet/purse? And you can keep the band in your pocket/purse/bag/on your lanyard too if you prefer no to wear it.

I dont see any issues with it.....unless you are one of those "new world order types...:joker:. and since you voluntarily paid for WDW..it cant be an invasion of privacy...WDW is private....when you enter...you're on their rules.

Much less secure, in my opinion. I don't know how they fasten - probably pretty securely, but you are on fast rides, some in the dark, it seems like it wouldn't take much for it to catch on something or fall off without you knowing.

We usually keep our cards in a zippered pocket on a messenger backpack that always stays with us. I guess we could lose the whole bag, but that sounds harder to do than a bracelet popping off.

Just sort of "thinking out loud"...I like the bracelet idea, just considering about possible drawbacks. And the lanyard might be a good option too...

I hate wearing anything on my wrist. Nevermind my skin sensitivity... thinkn hot day and a nasty bracelet sweating in my wrist. Yeah...those r things to consider lol.
Or will they b one size fits most.....the questions!!!

It is not like Disney is stapling the bracelet to your wrist and banning you from the park for life for not wearing it every second of the day. Don't like wearing a bracelet? Find another way. I know dozens upon dozens of people on the boards have already mentioned this but you can easily take the bracelet off and keep it in your bag just as you did the card.

None of your info resides on the bracelet. The only data on the bracelet is a unique number identifying the bracelet. This number will be how they link your bracelet to your profile where your ticket , credit card, ADRs, FPs, and other info will live.
