The Disney Chiques Clique meeting held here

Yes, "24" is our time (my husband and me) as our teenagers aren't into it. Add a glass of wine and we're set.

There have been "good" episodes this season and others that just seem to drag. Fortunately, the most recent one was full of lots of action.

I find myself a little bit "lost", as "The Apprentice" and "Survivor All Stars" are over and "Amercian Idol" and "24" are in their final episodes. (Maybe that's a sign I watch too much television!)

At least "The Amazing Race" starts in July. I love that show - you learn so much about people from they way they react to adversity, constant adrenaline rushes, and too little sleep!

And by the way, congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you've been feeling well, and that everything goes smoothly with labor and delivery next month.

Sandy -

Amazing Race is one of my favorite shows! I can't wait for it to start again. Besides the interaction among all of the people, I love to see all of the different cities around the world that they get to visit. It truly is amazing!

What play was your son in. How exciting it must have been for your family!

I love Amazing Race, too! It's like a travel show on fast forward.

The last few have picked up thankfully! DH had to stop me from cheering when Chappelle was finally killed off, he annoyed the heck out of me! I was just as happy to see Sherry gone too though that woman was

Thanks :teeth: I'm feeling like a beached whale but otherwise fine!! I'm hoping this one decides to make a slight early entrance! This time has been easier, I had pre-term labor at this stage with DD and was miserable. I'm uncomfortable this time but not nearly as bad as I was with Belle!

Carole and Jolie,

You're right about the cities, etc., that you see on Amazing Race. They DO make it tempting to visit (or stay away from, depending on your viewpoint) many of the places the teams visit. In fact, we are in the process of booking tickets for a Christmas/New Year's family trip to Australia and New Zealand this year, in part because of some of the beautiful New Zealand scenery we saw on (I believe) last season's Amazing Race. Plus, since the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed there and my kids adore the movies, they think it's cool to be going there as well.

I don't exactly remember the name of Jared's play. It was a western/comedy and he played the lead character - the wagonmaster "Chuck Wagon". He got to wear chaps, spurs, 10-gallon hat, and six-shooters. It was a lot of fun to watch, and we thought he did a good job.

At the same time the play was going on, our daughter Nicole was playing soccer in Denver for her high school team in the state quarterfinals and we were DYING that we couldn't be there too. But, after much debate, we came to the conclusion that there would be more soccer games to watch, but that there wouldn't be the opportunity to see "Chuck Wagon". (Unfortunately, the soccer team lost, but she will start club soccer season again soon, so the games begin anew in another venue!)

I love The Amazing Race too!! It's the only show I'll be faithfully watching this summer. What day does it start?

Sandy V, New Zealand would be such an awesome vacation! Sounds like so much fun!

Jess - this pregnancy and parenting stuff isn't for sissies, is it? By this time, there is absolutely NO comfortable position to sleep in.

And to be doing this when you already have two - from your description about living in the car driving kids around, you're my hero! Mine were 27 months apart, and it was EXHAUSTING to carry my second while being mommy to the first.

Again, best of luck and take care of yourself!

Sandy

Liz, the CBS website said that the summer season, including the Amazing Race, started July 6th. But I don't know specifically what date.

Jolie, we are SO exicted about this trip. With teenagers, any time you can get THEM to be pumped about going somewhere with Mom and Dad, it's a good thing. The timing works out perfectly with next year's school vacation over the holidays. Our daughter is a sophomore and wants to go to college out of state (right now it's California) and I'm starting to realize that 2 years from now, she'll be most likely leaving the nest (sniff!). So Ron and I are trying to put together as much quality "family time" as we can before then!

No it's not! Especially since they're both home today :earseek: Comfort has gone out the window, Belle ended up in bed with us last night, she's getting a cold too I think and she had a bad dream, spent 30 minutes crying and clinging to me asking for her brother

The oldest is 7, I spend most of my time driving him around, we moved into a new house in February and decided not to change his schools mid-year so we're driving him out to his old school, it's a half hour drive in good traffic! So Belle and I leave here at 2:30 to pick him up at 3:30 and if we're lucky and don't have any stops we're home by 4:30! I think I'm just going to move into the van at the point!

Belle and Amelie will be 30 months apart, I'm not sure I could have done it sooner! She's a Mommas girl, though she's convinced that she's getting the baby;) We spend a lot of time hanging out together - like now, I'm being shown a disney catalog so she can show me everything she needs! DS is having the hardest time with the adjustment to another sister though, he's not thrilled about having another girl in the house!

Hi, everyone

Just been checking in reading all the posts. It's gotten busy! We've had a busy morning here. Oldest DD11 graduated 5th grade this morning. They really get into it here. It lasted 2 and 1/2 hours! I don't think the high school graduation lasts that long.

Right now just relaxing here on the DIS waiting for DD6 to come home from school. Just one more day, yeah!

Hope everyone is having a great day,

Heather :wave2:

Jess,

Yes, 2-year-olds seem to think that "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is MINE too!" And I'm sure that she probably needs just about everything in that Disney catalog!

You haven't said if your son is involved in any activities other than those at school, but man, those things REALLY add to your life stresses and to the mileage on the van. Over the years, we've hauled kids to gymnastics, soccer, football, wrestling, track, basketball, dance, and baseball (I'm sure I'm forgetting something there). It's a little easier since our daughter got her driver's license in December, but life is still very busy. But I'm not complaining (although it may seem like I am - don't want to appear that way!). We've been blessed with two good kids, and the years have just flown by as they grow up and get taller than me and their dad!

Make sure that your son realizes that those little sisters will really think he's neat and look up to him as they grow!

I also forgot to add earlier - like you, I was so happy when Sherry Palmer got "knocked off" - that woman really irritated me!

Sandy

Congratulations to your daughter, Heather. Now you have the "middle school years" to look forward to! ;)

You're lucky school gets out tomorrow. We still have two more weeks!

Sandy

What time of the year do all of your kids start school? Here in Long Island we don't finish school until June 24th but we usually start the Wednesday after Labor Day. I think my kids would be very excited to end school in May!

My son starts kindergarten on the Thursday after Labor Day.

Next year, the first day of school is August 19th and the last day is May 26th. I think this is typical for most of Colorado.

My oldest ds will start preschool the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Then he'll go for two days & then be gone for 15 days while we're at WDW :bounce:

Afternoon ladies!! I've missed this place today! I've been at my friends house all day. After she dropped her parents off at the airport, I stayed and we worked on candybar wrappers. My younges daughter is graduating preschool and her oldest daughter is graduating 5th grade, so we stamped some wrappers for them to give to their classmates. It was a fun day just hanging and chatting! It's like being back in highschool! DD had fun too because she got to play with two of her daycare kids. Now we're in homework mode. My oldest daughter has gymnastics tonight. It's a race against the clock! LOL

My husband likes the show 24 too! I don't watch it, just couldn't get into it. My t.v. time is really going down since most of the shows are wrapping up for the season or for good. I've got one more week left with American Idol! I've also been watching that Colonial House, but not sure how many more episodes that one will have. I don't usually watch too much t.v. in the summer anyway.

As for when school starts/gets out around here, our county schools get out on June 18th this year... they tacked on a few snow makeup days. My oldest DD's school is letting out on the 14th though due to construction. Of course the whole school is thrilled to be the first school in the county to get out! LOL My youngest daughter has her preschool graduation on June 9th. I believe school starts on August 30, with Kindergarten starting on September 7th.
