I'm here!! Just REALLY busy! DD's 7th birthday is tomorrow, and I've got my Mom and niece here. I'm trying to get all the loose ends tied up before the morning. Already picked up the cake! Then Monday is her last day of school. Should be a fun day, but I have to make cupcakes tomorrow night for that! LOL I"ll be glad when Tuesday comes!

I'm still here too! I think this time of year gets really hectic for lots of people.

Hubby's grad. party was a lot of fun. It's nice to see everybody dressed up. His actual grad. is Monday night and he is giving the graduation speech. We're so proud of him!

Sandy - Thanks for the advice on moisturizer. It makes a lot of sense and I hadn't thought of it before. My brother lives in Vegas and he said that recently it was 107 degrees so I can see that moisturizer is a definate must. DD has to start work on July 17 so he will probably be moving around the 10th. We are going to temporarily be living in an apartment. Called a few over the weekend and have found one that is only .89 miles away from the hospital. The rest of us will follow him after the house is sold. We thought that we had a buyer last month but one of their family members became ill. It seems that he is getting better and they now want the house again. Hopefully this time it will go through. It has been a very fustrating time.

Froggy - Hope you'll be driving soon. you have been through so much. Hopefully you will continue to improve more and more each day.

HollyJoy - Your daughters are beautiful. We have our recital on July 3rd. We can't wait. Hope your daughter's birthday was lots of fun.

DH is working today and I have to run to the supermarket for a few items so I have to go. Take care everyone.

Morning all!

Well, we made it through the party! Glad it's over though! LOL The weather sort of cooperated for us. She had a pool party at our pool, and we weren't sure of the weather. It was in the mid 70's yesterday, and cloudy, but you know kids, they swam anyway! The water was warmer than the air, so lots of shivering going on. One good thing was that the pool wasn't very crowded. It was like we had it all to ourselves! LOL Was a great party, and all that were involved were exhausted. I went to bed at 9:30 last night... way early for me! :) Today is her last day of school. I took cupcakes up this morning. My youngest DD and myself will go up in a bit to take some pictures.

Carole.. glad the graduation party went well! Congrats to DH!

Good Morning, everyone!

Holly - congratulations on making it through the party and the last day of school! Hopefully, you'll be able to relax a bit after this - more time at the pool, and hopefully it will be warmer so you can enjoy it more! Like you, I went to bed early last night - just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Carole - it's great that your husband found a place so close to the hospital. That will definitely save him some time. I met someone from Las Vegas over Christmas break (we were on a cruise) and she said that the school system is organized into "areas of excellence" i.e., a school may focus on the performing arts, another have a science/math focus, yet another a technology emphasis. You may already know this, but I just thought I'd mention it in case you didn't. Good luck selling your house - I hope it goes through successfully this time. And you're welcome about the moisturizer suggestion - I felt like my face was going to crack when I first moved to Colorado 19 years ago!

Have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning Everyone!

We had one fun, exhausting week at Disney! I did not want to come home; I could stay there forever! ::yes::

I still have my grandson, and laundry to do, so life isn't quite back to normal yet. I'll post more later! Have a good day!

We look forward to hearing from you, Debbie. I'm glad that you had a wonderful time!

(And when you finish your laundry there; I've got a number of loads that you can do for me.)

Hi, all! I haven't checked in for a while, but thought I'd better at least say hello!

Hello back, Jolie! Hope all is going well with you. Are you enjoying summer thus far?

Hi, Sandy! -- I LOVE summer, so I'm enjoying every minute of it! Planning to go to the beach this week. :D

Jolie - sounds like fun! I could use some sun and sand between my toes. I hope you have a great time.

I think we're going to Breckenridge this weekend after our son's baseball doubleheader on Saturday, just to get away for a little while.

Sandy - I will gladly do some laundry for you, as long as YOU put it away! My least favorite part of doing laundry.

Holly - your daughters are beautiful!

Carole - congrats to your DH! What an honor to give the graduation speech, and the confidence to do so! I would be scared to death!

Jolie - I love the beach. Which beach will you be visiting?

Well, my son and DIL picked up my grandson last night; today I am one sad Gram :sad1:

We had such a great week in WDW. Stayed at POFQ for the first time, and I will definitely return. Everything was perfect...except.....they need to do something about the bathrooms. A good bleaching of the tile, and a regular scrubbing of the tub "may" work wonders. I know that the bathrooms were the only thing that wasn't refurbed, and it shows. However, everything else was excellent, and made up for the less than pristine bathroom. My grandson loved the pool, and the slide. Transportation was great, food court was...."food court food". We only ate there a couple of times, and it was good in a pinch. However, the beignets were sooooo good!

Our favorite meal was lunch at Le Cellier in Canada at Epcot. We also had great food at Kona Cafe, Trails End Buffet, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern, Boma, and The Cheesecake Factory at the Millinium Mall.

The Kona Cafe has a dessert called the "Kiddie Cone" that my grandson flipped over (me too) It was a chocolate coated waffle cone, standing on a plate, filled with a scoop of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, mickey sprinkles on top. On the plate at the bottom of the cone was a cloud of blue cotton candy, and a sprinkling of M&M's. The Kona did have the best desserts of all sampled.......and we did sample. Dh and I both gained 5 lbs. NOT a good thing.

We used Tiffany Town Car to and from the airport. It was a good experience, and we will use them again.

The last day there, I was pouting and said to DH, "I don't want to go home." My five year old grandson said "Gram, it's not the end of the world, you can't stay at Disney forever." He actually took leaving better than I! Now I'm trying to figure out how to get back soon! DH, though he likes Disney, isn't as Disney happy as I am.

Back to reality.

Glad you had a great time in WDW! Sorry it had to come to an end. So tell me more about this Kona Cafe! Where in the World is it? :) That ice cream cone sounds just up my girls alley! LOL

Thanks for the compliment on my girls.. I think they're pretty great! ;)

Yardbird, probably Point Pleasant. I love Sandy Hook, but might not want to drive that far.

arrrrgggggggggggggggg what a week..lol... dw had a panica ttack on the river, her faer of boats got her, she still ended up having a good t ime, but was a trying day ,then today her best friends brother got into a fight with her b f and ended up spraining her wrist,, dw had it out with a custoimer who wanted something for nothing, and after telling me yesterday that it would be first of next week,, they delivered my pool this morning asnd will be here in morning to install it which really pressed usd to get fencing down and everything moved and ready:) but we made it, have best friend coming to house sit while installers are here tomorrow, and i get to go to work with dw and super vise , they are installing some doors that shes never done with out me before so i get to go be moral support. to get them in right:)

Good Morning!

Not a lot planned here today. I'm waiting to hear from the Maryland licensing board as to when take the exam. I probably should get to studying for it! I'm trying to wait until I take the exam to start job hunting. However, I have sent out a couple of resume`s. I'm hoping to do Hospice work, which is really a love of mine. Both undergrad, and graduate internships were with Hopsice. I don't know why I am so anxious to get started working, I am really enjoying my free time! It's been so long since I've been able to sit down to some fun reading.

The weather here is strange. It has looked like rain (felt like it too) for the past couple of days, but nothing yet.

Holly - Kona Cafe is at the Polynesian Resort. I enjoyed visiting several resorts for a meal, and to check them out. Next visit I would really like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone!

Man! We had a great day yesterday! We drove up to Hershey Park. We were a bit worried about the weather, for it didn't match the forecasts we had seen, but all turned out okay in the end. It was very overcast, and sprinkled a couple of times, but still was a good day. I think the overcast sky kept a lot of people away from the park. We only waited about 15-20 min for any ride! Awesome! We didn't get home until after midnight. BUt boy let me tell you, I am sore today!! Those roller coasters kicked my behind! LOL Would you believe that both my girls went on the upside down one? The Super Duper Looper! LOL Little RollerCoaster Divas! I hear the pool calling today!

Good Morning, everyone. I hope that you all had a nice weekend and a pleasant Father's Day.

I'm bumping this back to the front page - don't want this thread to die!

We had a very nice Father's Day. We took my husband to Breckenridge for a long bike ride around Lake Dillon and then down the Alpine Slide at the base of the mountain. Had a great lunch - lots of laughter. Ron said it was a great Father's Day.

Plans for the week - baseball and more baseball - I've started bringing my own chair because those bleachers are tough on the behind! We've also decided that we're going to try and get away for a week in July to the Washington D.C. area, so I'm going to start making arrangements.

Have a good day, everyone!

Morning! I tell you, the last few mornings I've been sleeping in until almost 10am! Don't know what's come over me! Last night, we pitched our tent in the backyard, and the girls and I had a little camp out. DH didn't join us because he didn't think his back could take sleeping on the hard ground. (He hurt his back over the weekend). It was a beautiful night for it. In the 50's! Well I was up bright and early this morning! :) Today is DD's 7th birthday. We already had her bday party with her friends, so it will be a relaxing day. She's requested to spend the day at the pool.. I"m happy to do that. Heehee! I've got her bday cake baking as I type.

We had a great Father's Day. Did a few errands, got snowcones, spent two hours at the pool, then cooked Salmon on the grill. Mmmmm! Hope everyone had a great one too!
