Seeing that this is the weekend for The Masters in Augusta, GA, it's appropriate to share my Masters memories.
Back in the late 80s/early 90s, tickets were as hard to get then to Thurs-Sun official rounds as it is today.
However ....
During that time the PRACTICE rounds (Mon-Wed of tournament week) were not tickets (as they are today) but anyone could pay a daily ticket fee and walk in (so us common folk took advantage of it).
Here is a picture my father scanned that is actually two photographs. Based on how skinny I am, the top one is about 1989/90 and the bottom one a few years later.
That's me on the left, brother in the middle, dad on the right. Based on the faded jeans, that's DEFINITELY early 90s. Photo is out in front of the clubhouse on the Magnolia Lane side (course is behind the house). The practice range is over to the left as is the Par 3 course.
Common riff raff like us can't get to this location for a picture any more. We always went on the Wednesday practice round day and stayed in the afternoon for the Par 3 contest. After 5 or 6 years about the mid-90s they went to a ticket lottery system for the practice rounds as well and our annual visits came to an end. But I have plenty of memories of tramping all over the course trying to see as much of it as you could (back then the front side notoriously got little tv coverage). And we saw it all.
Nice memories.

PS - I remember the time I was in a restroom on the course and heard the "click clack" of metal spikes (back in the day) on the cement floor. I turned my head and standing next to me using the facilities was former Masters Champion Ray Floyd. He must have just made a bogey because he didn't want to chit chat....
PPS - Bonus pix of me and mom at Amen Corner (13th green in background in early 90s).
Bottom pic is mom and dad near that location same year.
