Orlando weather throughout the year.

I'm starting to think that I'm too weather sensitive to visit WDW most of the time. Humidity is my worst type of weather. So, I've assumed summer is generally a bad time to go. For personal reasons, I don't want to go during major Christmas decorations. So, that cuts out December.

It was apparently literally freezing January and February this year. Is that normal or was that unusual? I looked at Orlando weather today and it says there's a frost warning. I'm going there in a few days and it looks like it's going to be warmer then.

Soooo, if I don't do humidity and I don't want to be cold the whole time, when are good times to go? March, April and November? Is October still very hot and humid?

December, January and February, even into March, can be very unpredictable. Highs in 80s some days, highs in 60s other days. It seems that this year January and February have had unusually cold weather. You might consider late March or early April. We avoid those because they’re tge peak of Spring Break crowds, and we can cope with cold better than with crowds!

Where do you live now?

It looks like the coldest day this year was 45 high with low of 24. There has been quite a few days lows in 30s but then got 50-60 for highs. Live in middle TN and it was mostly 40 as a high in Jan with lows in the 20s constantly. That's cold.

That sounds like amazing weather to me to be in the parks.

And at least its a dry cold vs a wet hot.

We used to go every October - after several heat waves + hurricanes, we moved that annual trip to August. Heat is only slightly worse, but significantly lower crowds. But still…I would never actually recommend it to most.

Our first trip in late March was a few years back and I was shocked how pleasant it was. Most evenings there was even a hint of a breeze. As @CarolynFH said, I’d avoid the years where it coincides with Easter (like next year…peak crowds) but otherwise we really enjoy that time of year!

I have been every month and lived in Tampa for 2 years. The humidity is killer; the parks are intolerable when the humidity is out of control. Out of curiosity, is 'spring break' still a thing? I don't see today's college kids rushing off to Disney. (10 years ago, sure, the 90s kids were brough up on it.) Are we talking about families with school aged children that have (in the N.E.) a February or winter break and an Easter or April vacation?

This year's extreme cold was a fluke and only two weeks. For decades, I used to visit in January - my son has had countless birthdays there and many times we were there for Super Bowl weekend. The only weather concern was the status of the airplanes/delays due to weather. Escaped many times on the last plane to leave the home airport before the storm.

I would still be comfortable booking Jan-May 1. We spent a few years with temps near 100 (not feel like - actual) in May. September used to be low points, low crowds, with a rainstorm to cool everything off.

Probably talking more about Spring Break being the week break for school-age kids so families take the trip to Disney World. We did our trips during spring break when our kids were in school. Our spring break is always the end of March. Weather is great then and honestly, if you buy Lightning Lane it's not bad for wait times on rides either. Crowds are high, but most attractions are open as the refurb schedules don't tend to happen during the spring. We've always loved going then. We are trying out other times of the year now that our kids are adults, so I'm interested in this thread as high heat and humidity isn't my fave either.

I guess you can say it’s almost like Colorado!

It's a higher point time, but I'm extremely interested in Flower and Garden and if the weather is good, I'll be able to do a lot more.

Next year, I have a 7 night cruise at the end of April. I'll probably add a few WDW days before the cruise. I'm not sure if I'll want to fly back and forth in March and then April. It might work to get an AP in April, visit again in November and then March the following year.
🤔

I have been down in April, September, October, November, and December. I have experienced hot(90s) and humid in every month and relatively cold temps in October, November, and December.

I mean, San Diego probably has the most perfect weather days of almost any place in the country . . . so, Orlando can't really compete with that. But, I think late fall and early spring are probably the most reliably nice times to visit Orlando. Winter can have plenty of beautiful days, but you can get a cold snap when you go. Early fall and late spring are really just a touch better than summer.

My brother-in-law, who was born and raised in central Florida, often liked to joke that they have two seasons . . outdoors and air conditioning.

Most if not all school districts in Texas have a week off in early March, and many K-12 schools districts in other parts of the country have time off in the spring as well. March and April seem to be the peak, especially Easter week.
