THE DISBOUTIQUERS IN 3-D: A Pictorial Trip Report of a Dismeet

Ooops...I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry!!! I wouldn't have missed our mini meet for anything! I was trying to remember why I didn't end up going to Spectro and Wishes!

Alice was with Cathy for a few minutes and then they took off to tour Epcot. When Cathy came back, Alice wasn't with her.
Yup, what she said~;)

We've had a lot of sick kids around school. I guess a bunch of 'bugs' are waking up with the spring thaw.
Hope you don't get anything too bad and that you feel better soon!
Same at our school....only ours come to school sick  half the time. I'll be better soon. Thanks Memom!!!

By the way disboutique peeps....if you have never read Memom's trip reports, I would say you should take a look: they are wonderful and filled with great pics of everything Disney! Feel free to stop in and post on hers! :yay:

Cathy, hope you aren't feeling so bad today. How is your daughter? And I have been meaning to ask for the past week, which one is it? I thought you said, but my mind was not working at all the beginning of the week!
I do feel a little better today...just really tired. Sarah is the one recovering from bronchitus and pnuemonia and an allergic reaction to the Z-pack. Poor thing....she still is one big rash  . Hopfully, she will be better soon! Thanks for asking Jess! :)

Epcot Day

So this morning we had no wake up call….it was heavenly! :thumbsup2 And then once we did wake up….no one was making any demands of our time. We didn’t have to make anyone breakfast or get dressed quickly or go anywhere anytime soon. What did we do? We talked for a good hour! We showered and got dressed. Then we decided to check out the pool and the resort. Here are some more pics of SSR’s pool area. We found the boat dock and also checked out the DVC info area. We saw the model for the new Treehouses and I ate a yummy muffin.

We decided to get ready for Epcot. We walked over to DTD to catch a bus to Beach Club. It was a gorgeous day :cloud9: and it was fun to ride the bus around and see some of the other resorts. I noticed across from DTD were Disney offices. Neat. And we drove up to the Swan and Dolphin. Very nice. And we made a quick stop at the Boardwalk and finally at the Beach club. We were greeted by a beautiful Valentine garden of pink and red flowers…so pretty.

IMGP7796.jpg

We walked through the BC and went out to the beach/walkway area. Again, the gorgeous day and the beauty of the blue sky struck me.

We turned left to headed to the International Gateway.

IMGP7800.jpg

We made it in and since it was warming up I wanted to get a locker for my white jacket. The locker had a sign that you needed to get the key at the store next to it. I got in line at 1:05. I was behind a lady purchasing several items. One CM was training the CM at the register. :bored: Well, at 1:15 Alice asks me loudly “What are you doing?” I reply loudly “I am standing here waiting to get a key for the locker.” We say this loudly as to get some service. :sad2: Apparently the hold up was the lady did not have money to purchase the $100 worth of goodies she has selected. She had filled credit cards and non-activated credit cards. The CM kept commiserating with the lady and asking her if she had any other way of paying. This literally went on for another 10 minutes. At 1:23, Alice and I just left. (Ridiculous…..rather than pull the lady aside and wait on the next customer, they just kept smiling and talking to each other about the non-working credit cards.) I am not patient enough to wait around forever. Besides, we were getting really hungry!!!

We had planned on eating at Norway so we made our way around the World counter clockwise. I thought this was a great opportunity to take lots of informal pics. I also bought a blue rasberry slushie :drinking1 (virgin) for my little trek around Epcot. I was frightened by how far it looked on paper. However, I was delighted when I arrived to find that the 10-mile trek I imagined was actually quite a bit shorter.:teleport: I could actually see Norway from the gateway. Thank goodness. So here are some pics along the way.

I loved seeing all of the beautiful princesses along the way! princess:

The outdoor train set was so neat!

So do we make it to lunch??? Stay tuned for another update in the morning!!!:wizard:

Whilst I slept...all the Disboutiquers crept off onto Thread #12 and I went to work and came home and I couldnt find anyone. I had packed all my sewing stuff for the move and no one was around. It was just like Kindom Keepers at night! Luckily Kim came around the corner and found me posting on the old thread still and pointed me to the new one:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30390073#post30390073ls

I think we are already on page 12 or 13!!!!

It sounds like you were very patient waiting in line for the key. How rediculous!!

Wow, you saw Beauty and the Beast? Tessa would love that!

We didn't get around the countries this trip, except for when we were walking and chatting with the disboutiquers. So, the only princess we saw was Mulan!

Oh good I am glad you didnt think I was being impatient! I saw a lot of character spots! I would have to change the girls about 10 times just to make it around the World :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I left you at the outdoor trains....

IMGP7812.jpg

We finally arrive in Norway around 1:40pm. We ordered yummy sandwiches, beverages and desserts at the Kringla Bakery. I really wanted the fruit salad but the CM said it didn’t count as a salad. Darn. I did get the school bread…I knew enough to get that. I ran to the facilities before lunch. I won’t go into details. I did figure out why I was feeling so crumby. Then we enjoyed a yummy lunch while people watching!

We finished up and toured around Norway. I took some pics inside the museum and we checked out the troll. I kinda wanted to ride Maelstrom since there was no line but we just ended up walking around the shops.

Next we headed to China. It must have been around 2:15 or so. There was a Dismeet scheduled for that time and sure enough we came across dozens of dissers and cute kiddos. We managed a quick hello before darting off to China. It is cool how you move into the countries and you feel like you’re in a totally different place.

We came out and the Disboutiquers were still gathered together. I briefly chatted with Heather and took a couple pics of her absolutely adorable children! Then we had to go if we were going to make it around the World. I hope we didn’t come across as rude by not staying but I had never been around the World and this would be our only opportunity. I doubt my kids were going to want to do this on our next trip either so this was it. We said goodbye and “see ya later” and made our way past the Outpost to Germany. I continued taking pics but I have no idea which country some of them were from.

Heather made this dress for Tessa:

Interestingly enough, I did not enjoy Morocco. There was very loud music playing with a belly dancer…but for some reason I got creeped out walking around the back through the shops. I kinda rushed through. I think Alice felt the same way because we finished at the same time and kinda ran out of there.

IMGP7839.jpg

When we arrived in France, the movie Impressions de France was just starting so we went in and enjoyed the movie. Actually, Alice tried not to get motion sickness from all of the moving screens. I handled it much better considering my condition before. I loved the movie and want to see it again someday.

We crossed over the bridge and entered the United Kingdom around 4 pm. I love England. I spent a month there with my family when I was in high school. There was some sort of a show going on so we walked around through the shops. I was going to wait for Mary Poppins who was scheduled to come out around 4:15pm. I chickened out however. Somehow character meets aren’t the same for me without my children. I did get the requisite red phone booth pics!

Opps...this pic was from France....

OK now we are in UK:

Finally we entered Canada. Alice didn’t want to try another movie so we walked around and enjoyed the nice day. I love the little garden and house in Canada. We people watched for a bit until it was time to check in for our 5 pm ADR at Le Cellier.

While waiting we saw a lot of people come up and read the menu and decide if they thought they would like to eat here. Hahahaha.:rotfl2: As if they had a choice. We even saw newlyweds try. :bride: I kept saying to Alice….they are going to get shot down. Sure enough in they went and came right back out rejected. Yes, people, this restaurant has been filled for months. :scared: You need the Dis people! You need to get organized and make ADR’s way in advance.

UP NEXT: Our dinner and the ESPN Dismeet!!!! :cheer2:

I can't wait to hear about your dinner! Le Cellier was (some of) our favorite meal of the trip! (depending on what was ordered).

Your TR is making me realize how little I wander around at WS. I've never seen some of the things in your pics! Also amazed how your photos make the parks look dead (I know to you they weren't packed but again to me...overwhelmingly so!)

IMGP7860.jpg

So we were just waiting to be called for dinner....

Well about 15 minutes after our scheduled time, we were shown into the restaurant, Le Cellier. It was pretty small and not as elaborately decorated as I thought it would be. But really, it was supposed to be a wine cellar right? I liked the cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was awesome and we really enjoyed our meal. Actually, it came so quickly that we got it before the bread sticks. I am serious. It couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes after we ordered that it came. Our waitress helped me order the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon without the mushrooms and with the cream cheese potatoes. I think I died and went to heaven. I finished every single bite! I remembered to take a pic about halfway through.

IMGP7865.jpg

It was the best I tell ya! Alice ordered the Kansas City strip steak and said it was good but about the same as another place she had eaten....I think it was the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I on the other hand have never eaten my entire plate of food. I always end up leaving at least a few bites. This time…it was all gone…every last speck! Hahahaha. :rotfl2:

Then we ordered dessert. I really wanted to try the “chocolate moose“. Alice ordered it too. It was just as good as it was adorable. A bit rich…and you would have to be a chocolate lover to enjoy it….which I am btw! I captured Mr. Mousse in a pic before I dug in!

IMGP7866.jpg

I was completely stuffed when we left. And I realized I never ate the breadsticks when they finally did arrive. Oh well. Maybe next time.

So at this time, Alice and I said goodbye so we could go to our separate destinations. Mine was the Official Dismeet at the ESPN Club and Alice wanted to check out DTD and relax at back at the room. It was dusk by now and I enjoyed my walk through the International Gateway.

I walked thru UK again to hear the "Beatles" playing...."She loves me ya, ya, ya..." :rolleyes1

What a nice day just wandering around Epcot! I bet it was enjoyable! Cute pictures of the kiddos and their mickey bars. We didn't even have one this entire trip.

We have only eaten at Le Cellier once and didn't care for it so Lin never wants to try again. I am usually about giving places a 2nd chance. Then again there is so much good food in Epcot I can see why!

Is Norway supposed to be good? This is the 2nd time I have heard it mentioned today in trip reports (as you can see I have again done nothing all day).

The chocolate mousse looks to die for! I am craving some major chocolate right now! I really want chocolate pudding (jello cooked) but Lin won't make it and it takes me forever and I know I can't stand that long stirring!

I walked up the pathway, left over the bridge and came upon the ESPN Club.

IMGP7872.jpg

IMGP7873.jpg

I called Heather when I got there since I had no idea where everyone was. She met me at the doorway and showed me the way to the 30+ dissers gathered in one spot. It was amazing! I loved chatting with everyone and seeing all of the kiddos! We even tried to capture a pic of the group. That was hilarious since the kids wouldn’t stay put and we needed like 100 pics from the two DH’s standing in front of us laden with 50 cameras each. It was funny. The ESPN club was really cool too btw. They had lots of tv screens everywhere. My DH would be in heaven here! Apparently the food and service were pretty good too.

Still can't believe you didn't eat the pretzel breadsticks at Le Cellier...I would have snuck them in my bag for later :rotfl2:

I am not sure what time it was when we headed outside to let the kids run off some steam. :dance3: They enjoyed a game of "duck duck goose"!!!! We stood around on the boardwalk and enjoyed the night-air and just continued chatting. I want to say a big thank you :lovestruc to a particular disser who brought a surprise for everyone. Thanks again…and you know who you are!!!! I do believe Steph and her kids left at some point and also maybe Cindy and Morgan?

IMGP7880.jpg

It was getting later…probably around 8 :15 pm. I was going to skip Illuminations and head home via a taxi from the Beach Club. That was my original plan. I was having such a good time and wasn’t all that tired…remember I slept in and didn’t have kids to attend to all day. I decided to stay for Illuminations and we all headed as one big group over to the International Gateway. It was funny watching everyone come through the turnstiles. We were moving at the speed of a herd of turtles.

IMGP7884.jpg

We came to the bridge and no one was there. I knew it was a great viewing location and so we all plopped down. We took up a pretty good chunk of the bridge. It was great chatting and eventually the show started. Here’s where you will have to go to Kristina’s trip report for great shots of Illuminations. I actually really enjoyed the show….more than I thought. Perhaps it was the company! (Tour Guide Mike 3 – Them 1)

Notice someone matches Jayden??? Apparently Jammie made a custom for another family visiting Disney and they met us on the bridge and stayed with us for Illuminations!

The start of the show:

IMGP7888.jpg

IMGP7889.jpg

Kathy (Nae Nae) and her husband offered to take me to SSR rather than have me get a taxi. I thought that was so sweet and kind of them. Don’t you think so? So after the show, we all slowly made our way to the front. We didn’t rush and it didn’t seem as crowded as I imagined it would be. I heard horror story trip reports of hour-long bus waits etc. Apparently it wasn’t that bad of a wait and there were lots of buses. In any case, Kathy took me right to my building and I arrived “home” around 10:30 pm. I felt really bad because Alice was starting to get worried about me. :guilty: I never called her to tell her I was staying for Illuminations. I feel so bad about that. I didn’t even think about until I was on my way home.

She did mention that the bag I wanted to get (there was a promotion so it was only $10) was only at the resorts not at DTD. She looked while she was there that night. Soooo, I needed some other things at Artist Point, so I went shopping…. at 11 pm….but you would never know it. There were people and children everywhere. I couldn’t believe it. I bought some goodies for the DH and my 3 sweet babes princess: at home and I got my bag for $10! Yaaaa! :cool1:

I headed back to the room and quickly got ready for bed. I was tired by now. It was a good day and I really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing the World Showcase. Unfortunately, it was almost time to depart dear Disney World. Tomorrow morning we would check out, go to DTD and head home to reality. :sad2:

Next Up – Our last day in Disney World!

Your TR is making me realize how little I wander around at WS. I've never seen some of the things in your pics! Also amazed how your photos make the parks look dead (I know to you they weren't packed but again to me...overwhelmingly so!)
I did think there were a few people at Epcot that day...more than I thought there would be but it didnt bother me one bit since I wasnt waiting in lines for rides. After reading your tr, I can see where the groups were a pain taking all of the FP's. Doesnt seem fair....:sad2: I wonder if TGMike said not to go to that park that day or not? I will have to check. With all the talk about him I do, I really want to see if he is spot on or not before trusting him for our Nov trip.

Hahahaha, I have sewn and TR all day...and take care of my other poor sick child....
We did have a nice time going around Epcot! What did Lin order that he didnt like? Norway's bakery was very good....the bread and sandwich (Roast Beef) was delish and of course the school bread was scrumous!

The chocolate mousse looks to die for! I am craving some major chocolate right now! I really want chocolate pudding (jello cooked) but Lin won't make it and it takes me forever and I know I can't stand that long stirring!

My DH made dinner tonight! Wasn't that nice? Does your DH cook? I hope you make your pudding...and enjoy it! popcorn::

Still can't believe you didn't eat the pretzel breadsticks at Le Cellier...I would have snuck them in my bag for later :rotfl2:

Can you believe that I never thought of taking it with me? I was sooo full I wouldnt have been able to eat it anyways....but you all could have tried it...duhhh :headache:

Oh no! I made Piper disappear!

Oh no! Piper should have moved up front! I did see her in someone else's pic!
