We suck. Everybody went home sad. 4th quarter started out getting everyone PUMPED then we blew it (again)! Unbelievable quarter that one was! DH will probably pass out any minute now from his 4 beers / hour!

Very wet and soggy around here, but since we are in Central CA...we are lucking out. Most of the bad weather is hitting Northern CA and Southern CA.

Surgery went well but she had to do more work than she thought so I am home with my nurse rick...he gets to do al kinds of fun dressing stuff

It is really nice here and I just took a nap in the recliner on the patio in the sun...i iwill go back there now..

Right as I was looking at that picture, DH rebooted his computer in the other room...and when he does it makes the ships horn sound(it used to be my computer). That was so weird!

It IS a subtle warning from the tree.......

Yep. Slept right thru it we did. Although I'm pretty sure that it scared the living crap out of Buzz & Woody!

We had about 1/3 of our ornaments break. DS was very upset over a couple of them. Well, me too actually. The vacuum cleaner clogged like 3 times so far and we had to clean it out with the Shark hand vac thing. But our house sure smells like pine all over again! Hope everybody else is having a better day on their end! (Where IS everybody anyway?!)

Yeah. If it had been BEFORE Christmas I would've cried! We have a big tree stand but I think this tree was just TOO big for it...we had tightened it up once a couple days before Christmas & it was just in the last day or two it was starting to look a little "off" again - but we knew we were taking it down today so we ignored. Once, when we were in our townhouse we had a tree in an alcove in the dining room & the stairs went up beside it - we came home from work & the tree was lying across the dining room table...but there was this big HOLE in the back...we're pretty sure our cat that we had at the time probably dove into it from the stairs!

Thankfully, all of the ones that were like "Baby's first" etc. were all OK. And there was a "deer" family one that someone had personalized for us that we were able to glue the horns back on etc. I DID have a lot of really cute ones that I'd gotten at like Pier One Imports when we were first married that got broken tho. There were a couple that DS was very upset about. But all of the REALLY sentimental ones were spared! I am STILL cleaning up!

Ok. So I am way behind. I went back and read about 8 pages worth to try to get the major points.

Of course CONGRATS to BOB! I am glad that all that pressure is finally over. So now we can concentrate on outfitting his dorm room with Rubik's cubes and milk crates. Actually I don't know if the milk crate thing is still "in" or not but whatever is used for storage. LOL!

for TRM! Football Pool Queen! You showed up the veterans for sure. You obviously know what you are doing!

It was a lot of moving around. We saw lots of family and such. Somehow I think that it would have been more relaxing if we had been on a Disney Cruise for Christmas...

We enjoyed returning to Florida with the cold snap. It was pretty warm when we were north for most of the trip. It is already back in the 70's so I mowed the lawn yesterday. So sick of the year round landscaping. I think that I am going to look for silk plants.

HI TZM!! Sounds like quite a trip. Being home is good. Thanks for the football pool Kudos. It was a lot of fun. Was hoping it would be a DIS Peeps sweep but those darned relatives of Beanos messed the whole thing up! And I agree on the whole Christmas Cruise idea. Join us in 2010!! Wish I could get Neil to just make that our Christmas tradition.

Speaking of...Annie you will appreciate this...was discussing said Christmas 2010 cruise with my mom today. Looking ahead (yes 2 years ahead) looks like Christmas falls on a Saturday! WHAT!? Does that really mean I will be possibly embarking/disembarking on Christmas Day!?
THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY LAME!! So I am obsessing about that. 2 YEARS EARLY. I am one disturbed DISFan. Secretly hoping the Christmas cruise will just be longer so that we are actually on the ship for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Otherwise Santa has to find us at a hotel. And that is just getting way too complicated. Like my brain needs this to worry about right now.

Annie I LOL about the subtle tree warning but am sad you lost some precious ornaments. My tree comes down today. After DH finishes online poker tournament and I get back from dropping DD at a birthday party and make a stop at the local genealogical society to ask them some basic questions. Assuming baby takes an afternoon nap.

Betsy - glad you are home resting comfortably.

Katie - trying to find out if cousin can get us the special firefighter tickets for Disneyland. If he can we will book a hotel only. If not I will be looking at the quotes you sent over. Hopefully they have not expired. With my luck they have and I will have to bother you again for that package info. Sure hope to take care of the whole darned thing today. Looks like we will be going the week before you come out as my uncle from NY will be in So Cal that weekend. So those dates seem to be working out perfectly to set up a family dinner so we can all see him. He comes out about every 7 years though we used to see him alot when we lived back in PA we have not seen him in quite a while.

OK have to get DD out of tub and dressed for tea party.

Buttered Rum Cake...hummm...bet that would be good WARM, fresh out of the oven! I can picture that being quite tasty! Maybe with a little icing - kinda like they use on cinammon rolls....

DH has an old family friend in town this week from San Fran. - staying with MIL so we went & met for dinner at an El Salvadorian restaurant - tasty! Darn deer ran across the road in front of me again - I hadn't seen any in like 3 or 4 days! There are just SO-O many of them! Scary.

Bought some snacks & breakfast stuff for FL trip today! WhooHoo - gotta go check that Accuweather.com site - only 12 days to go!

OK I have a funny "you know you shopped too much at Target at Christmastime" story:

I noticed while wrapping presents I had inadvertently purchased Rat-ta-tully in Blu Ray format. We don't have a Blu Ray system. DUH. Can you say just indiscriminately grabbing things from the Target shelves in a Chirstmastime shopping fest?

So, today I ventured off to Target to exchange this for a DVD. Mission accomplished-along with $120 of other need to have items. Thinking yay we can watch the DVD after dinner after Ryan is home from the birthday party she attended.

I pick Ryan up and get home and say "Lets' watch the movie!"

When Neil says: Not unless we all suddenly understand Spanish fluently.

Yup - I grabbed the spanish DVD.

I really have to pay more attention to what I am grabbing off of those Target shelves.

but I just can't help it...the little red bullseye confuses me...must spend money....keep grabbing items....must fill up cart....

So sad.

Yup headed back to Target after dinner to exchange the spanish DVD to the english DVD. But bought nothing else while there!! I take my victories where I can get them!

I tried filling out the FAFSA form for college...um, no can do! Who knew how complicated it was (ok, Ophie....I know you do, but I was speaking in general)

Reminder to self: call accountant and set up appointment for her to help fill it out!


My kids have a teacher inservice day today, but it's back to school tomorrow! There is definitely somthing to be said for getting back to a daily rountine.

RJ - thank goodness we still have like 8 years before we have to worry about all of these forms! Hopefully there will be a better process by then!

Our kids went back last Wed. - so this will be our first FULL WEEK back...I really hate to see Sun. eve. come! The weekends are so short!

Is it too early to start packing for FL?! I want to go outside today - supposed to be mid-60's! How exciting is THAT?!

TRM - how was that spanish movie?! I barely understand RJ's Hola's!
